THESPIANS' AMATEUR DRAMATIC CLUB .-On Friday evening , the 25 th ult ., the gentlemen of this Club ' who are principally connected with the firm of Messrs . Copestake , Hughes , Crampton , and Co ., gave a most successful performance , in aid of the Commercial Travellers ' Schools , at the Imperial Theatre , Westminster . The entertainment was under the patronage of Bro . Alderman and ¦

sheriff I'owler , M . P ., and Bro . Sheriff Waterlow , and , from the very large audience present , a most substantial amount will doubtless be handed to the estimable Institution , which is so deserving of support . The programme included Mr . II . T . Craven ' s original drama , " 'The Post Boy , " and Bro . H . J . Byron's serio-comic drama , " Dearer

than Life , the last named being given b y permission c f Bro . J . L . Toole . In both dramas the acting was exceedingly good . The whole programme was carried out with the greatest success , for which praise is certainly due to the Hon . Sec , Mr . John Stollery , and the many Stewards who so ably supported him .

ALHAMBRA THEATRE . —Weare informed that there is in rehearsal at this theatre , " Jeanne , Jeannette , and Jeanneton , " a new opera comique by P . Lacome . The libretto is by Mr . Robert Reece . An exceptionally strong company has been engaged , and the opera will be produced shortly , and for the first time in England , on a scale of great splendour , comprising- a Grand Mythological Ballet , in which Mdlle . Palladino will make her first appearance at this theatre , in addition to Mdlles . Pertoldi , Rosa , and Gilbert , assisted by the entire corps de ballet .
