The S . W ., Bro . M . H . C Palmer , was installed as W . M . of the lodge for the ensuing year , the ceremony being ably performed by Bro . Stephen Knight , P . M . The newly-installed W . M . afterwards

appointed and invested his officers . A handsome P . M . 's jewel , suitably inscribed , was presented by the officers and brethren of the lodge to the outgoing W . M ., Bro . Belcher . The lodge business , which occupied several hours , was succeeded by a banquet , served in a most complete and

satisfactory style by Bro . Hamlen , at the Council Chamber , which had been decorated with much taste with Alasonic emblems , & c , by Airs . Palmer , Miss Wright , Bro . S . Knight , Mr . Knight , jun ., and others . The tables were also adorned with hothouse flowers . The company included Bro . W . G . Mount , ALP ., and other influential visitors .

LEOMINSTER . —Royal Edward Lodge ( No . S 92 ) . —The installation festival of this lodge was held on Tuesday , the 15 th ult ., in the Alasonic Room , Oak Hotel . The occasion was one of more than ordinary interest and importance , and there was an unusually large gathering of the brethren , among whom were many Past Alasters . The new W . M . was Bro . the Rev . Richard Evans ; and in

the unavoidable absence through illness of his dear old friend , Bro . the Rev . John Buckle , the lodge invited Bro . Thos . Smith to perform the installation . Bro . Smith was accompanied by Bro . W . Rowe , the retiring W . AL , at Hereford , and other Paladians , and , aided by liis remarkable memory and intimate knowledge of the Alasonic ritual , the ceremony was carried out very satisfactorily . The workmanlike manner in which the ceremony was given
