RAIN HAM . Royal Victorian Jubilee Lodge ( No . 2184 ) . —The installation meeting of the above nourishing lodge took place on Thursday , the 27 th ult ., at Bro . Cohen , and J . Millen , Stewards ; and J . Ives , Tyler . Bro . Hammond then gave the addresses , and concluded a ceremony , the perfectness of which we have never seen surpassed , and rarely equalled ; in fact , following upon the raising , it was an arduous task for the most veteran ritualist to undertake , and well did our worthy brother rise to the occasion . Bro . Eedle commenced his reign by initiating Messrs . Byford and I lennesy ( Mr . Thompson not being in attendance ) in that finished manner of which , as
an old Preceptor , he is so well known as an adept . Bro . Eedle was unanimously elected to represent the lodge on the Provincial Charity Committee . Bro . Hammond was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his splendid working of the ceremony of installation , the same to be inscribed on the minutes of the lodge , and was subsequently presented with a handsome Past Master ' s jewel and Past Master ' s collar and pendant , suitably engraved , and for which Bro .
Hammond feelingly returned thanks . The balance sheet and Auditors' report was received and adopted . " Hearty good wishes" having been given , the lodge was closed . 'The banquet was served under the personal superintendence of Bro . Joyce , and was of the choicest description . Among the other brethren present were Bros . A . J . Manning , P . P . S . G . D . Taylor , 22 S ; S . Myers , < i ; and T . Keen , 1259 . The usual loyal and Grand Lodge toasts were loyally drank , as was that of " The P . G . Master , Bro . the Earl of Warwick . " The toast of "Bro . Philbrick , D . P . G . M ., & c , and the
rest of the Grand Officers , Present and Past , " was responded to by Bro . Bromhead , who said it was far too late for him to make a speech that night that would at all be adequate to the important toast with which his name had been so flatteringly coupled . 11 id their esteemed Grand Master been present he could not have been otherwise than pleased at the enthusiastic manner in which his health had been drunk . Most of those present knew the great and
unceasing interest his lordship took in the progress of the province , while Bro . Philbrick had endeared himself to them by his kindly and courteous manner upon all occasions . As to the small fry , he could assure them that their pay was very small for the work they had to do ; however , they one and all endeavoured faithfully to carry out the duties entrusted to them , and in their name , and for himself , he thanked the brethren for their cordial
reception of the toast . Bro . Hammond , in proposing the toast of "The VV . M ., " said they all rejoiced to see Bro . Eedle in t . e chair , for he was not only a founder of the lodge , but had been connected with it in all its tips and downs ; its rise , progress , and its prosperity . He ( Bro . Hammond ) was glad to be able to say that the lodge was in a very flourishing condition , and under the reign of their esteemed VV . M .
he felt sure that at their next annual meeting the auditors would have a good report to make and the Treasurer a good balance in hand . He asked them to drink the toast heartily and show Bro . Eedle that his long and good services to the ledge were not forgotten . Bro . Eedle , who was heartily cheered on rising , said he was deeply affected at the very kind words that had been said about him by their l . P . M . He had tried during his
connection with the lodge to help it forward by every means in his power , and had always had its best interests at heart . They had kindly recognised his endeavours to do so and he would still Iuither endeavour to retain their good opinions by continuing his interest in the lodge and working for its prosperity . It was his great desue to hive a chapter attached to the lodge , indeed , he might say its inception
was an acomphshed lact , and he hoped before long to see it established and at work . He again thanked them and resumed his seat amid cheers . The other toasts were " The Visitors , " " Initiates , " " Installing Officers , " " Officers , " and Tyler ' s toast . Some excellent vocal and instrumental music enlivened the proceedings , which were both hearty and enjoyable . The jewel was manufactured by Bro . George Kenning .

RAIN HAM . Royal Victorian Jubilee Lodge ( No . 2184 ) . —The installation meeting of the above nourishing lodge took place on Thursday , the 27 th ult ., at Bro . Joyce ' s handsome and convenient hotel , the Phoenix , and was in every resprct a most delightful and memorable one . The lodge was opened by Bro . J . G . Hammond , W . M ., P . G . been read and confirmed , the ballot was taken for Messrs . John Byford , William Henne-y , and James Thompson as candidates for initiation , and Bros . Henry Johnson , P .
P . S . G . D . ( Hon . ); VV . Slattery , P . P . G . Org . ( Hon . ); C T . Lewis , P . M ., P . P . G . S . B . ; VV . J , Nicoll ,
