On Friday , the 22 nd ult ., a Moveable Grand Mark Lodge was held at the Masonic Hall , Weymouth , on invitation from the Provincial Grand Mark Lodge of Dorset . Moveable Grand Mark Lodge , and their pleasure at seeing so eminent and well known a Mark Mason as Rev . Canon Portal , P . G . M . M . as the representative of H . R . H . on that occasion-. The Presiding G . M . M . M . in answer , acknowledged the compliment paid to him . He reminded the brethren that he vvas no stranger to them , as it had been his pleasurable duty to install the P . G . M . M . of Dorset in that lodge room on the first constitution of the province .
Bro . Rev . VV . M . HEATH , P . G . M . M . Dorset , proposed , and Bro . Sir R . N . HOWARD , D . P . G . M . Dorset seconded the proposition , that a petition be presented to her Most Gracious Majesty the Queen through the M . W . G . M . M . M . the Prince of Wales , praying that the title of "Royal" be allowed to be borne by the Mark Benevolent Institution . This was carried unanimously . All business being concluded , Grand Lodge vvas closed .
The Lodge of All Souls , Weymouth , was then opened , and the officers having resigned their chairs to the Grand Officers present , the Right Rev , Acton Windeyer Sillitoe , Bishop of New Westminster , British Columbia , who had been duly proposed , balloted for , and accepted , was advanced tothe Mark Degree , the ceremony being impressively performed by Bro . F . Binckes , assisted by other members of Grand Mark Lodge .
After the lodge was closed the brethren adjourned to Greenhill House , the residence of Bro . Sir R . N . Howard , whereon a marquee erected on the lawn facing the sea , the banquet was held , at which Bro . the Rev . W . Mortimer Heath , P . G . M . M . M . Dorset , presided . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were given , together with "The Health of the Right Rev . Candidate , " who responded in an able and interesting speech , and dwelling especially on the deep impression which the proceedings of that day had made upon him .
The visit of Grand Lodge will long remain fresh in the memory of the Dorset brethren , and the enjoyment of the day was greatly enhanced by the kindness of Bro . Sir R . N . Howard in providing for the banquet a spot so beautiful as that in which it was held .
The attendance of brethren was as good as could be expected , and would have been far greater had not the great naval review , on the following day , interfered with it . It was well known that many of the eminent members of Grand Mark Lodge were from this cause obliged to be absent .

H . the Duke of Cumberland . " This old print was published by Van Dyke , January 9 th , 1786 .
The oak chairs used by the W . M . and S . W ., that of the former had a silver square let into the top of the chair , and engraved thereon : " His Majesty King George the Third visited the city of Salisbury , September 30 th , A . L . 5778 , and was seated in this Chair and Throne in the choir of the cathedral during the performance of three anthems . " On the S . W . ' s chair is a silver level , and engraved thereon is ; " Her Majesty Queen Charlotte , accompanied her Royal Consort to Salisbury , September 30 th , A . L . 5778 , and was seated in this Chair and Throne in the choir of the cathedral . "
The brethren having minutely examined these curiosities , and taken their seats , the P . G . M . M ., D . P . G . M . M ., and Prov . Grand Mark Officers assembled , and the P . G . M . M . declared the lodge opened . The opening ode— " Hail , Eternal , by whose aid" —was rendered , and the consecration was proceeded with . The first part of anthem " Mark Masters all appear " vvas rendered , and the founders of the new lodge were arranged in order .
The PROV . GRAND MARK MASTER , addressing the founders on the nature of the meeting , said that they had met there that day at their request to found and conslitute a Mark Master Masons lodge , and he felt sure from the characters and zeal of the brethren who had signed the petition they would have a happy and auspicious future . He need scarcely say to
Masons as those before him the work was not complete until a great deal of consistent and solid work was carried out , and he hoped they would all strive together to make the lod ^ e second to none in the province . He would call on the Prov . Grand Secretary to state their wishes and the proceedings they have taken in respect to the lodge .
The PROV . GRAND SECRETARY read the prayer and petition , which had been duly signed by the Prov- G . M . M ., and also the warrant from the Grand Lodge of England . The PROV . GRAND MARK . MASTER delivered the invocation , and after the usual ceremonies , the P . G . M . M . dedicated and constituted the Unity Lodge , No . 381 .
The Right Worshipful Bro . R . LOVELAND-LOVELAND , Deputy Prov . G . M . Master , then proceeded with the installation ceremony , which was rendered in a most efficient and exceedingly impressive manner , and Bro . Jenkins was duly proclaimed as W . M . and saluted in due form . The election of Treasurer was then proceeded with , and resulted in the unanimous voting in favour of Bro . VV . Farrance .

( under the authority of his Royal Highness the Duke of Cumberland , Grand Master of the Most Ancient and Honorable Society of Free and Accepted Masons ) , and Grand Superintendent of Royal Arch Masons for the Counties ot Devon , Dorset , Essex , Gloucester , Hants , Kent , Somerset , and Wilts , under the patronage of his R . H . the Duke of Cumberland . " This old print was published by Van Dyke , January 9 th , 1786 .
The oak chairs used by the W . M . and S . W ., that of the former had a silver square let into the top of the chair , and engraved thereon : " His Majesty King George the Third visited the city of Salisbury , September 30 th , A . L . 5778 , and was seated in this Chair and Throne in the choir of the cathedral during the performance of three anthems . " On the S . W . ' s chair is a silver level , and engraved thereon is ; " Her Majesty Queen Charlotte , accompanied her Royal Consort to Salisbury , September 30 th , A . L . 5778 , and was seated in this Chair and Throne in the choir of the cathedral . "
The brethren having minutely examined these curiosities , and taken their seats , the P . G . M . M ., D . P . G . M . M ., and Prov . Grand Mark Officers assembled , and the P . G . M . M . declared the lodge opened . The opening ode— " Hail , Eternal , by whose aid" —was rendered , and the consecration was proceeded with . The first part of anthem " Mark Masters all appear " vvas rendered , and the founders of the new lodge were arranged in order .
The PROV . GRAND MARK MASTER , addressing the founders on the nature of the meeting , said that they had met there that day at their request to found and conslitute a Mark Master Masons lodge , and he felt sure from the characters and zeal of the brethren who had signed the petition they would have a happy and auspicious future . He need scarcely say to
Masons as those before him the work was not complete until a great deal of consistent and solid work was carried out , and he hoped they would all strive together to make the lod ^ e second to none in the province . He would call on the Prov . Grand Secretary to state their wishes and the proceedings they have taken in respect to the lodge .
The PROV . GRAND SECRETARY read the prayer and petition , which had been duly signed by the Prov- G . M . M ., and also the warrant from the Grand Lodge of England . The PROV . GRAND MARK . MASTER delivered the invocation , and after the usual ceremonies , the P . G . M . M . dedicated and constituted the Unity Lodge , No . 381 .
The Right Worshipful Bro . R . LOVELAND-LOVELAND , Deputy Prov . G . M . Master , then proceeded with the installation ceremony , which was rendered in a most efficient and exceedingly impressive manner , and Bro . Jenkins was duly proclaimed as W . M . and saluted in due form . The election of Treasurer was then proceeded with , and resulted in the unanimous voting in favour of Bro . VV . Farrance .

On the motion of Bro . J . B . ATKINSON , Bro . the Rev . Canon Portal , P . G . M . M . M ., and the D . P . G . M . M . Bro . R . Loveland-Loveland were unanimously elected Honorary Members , and votes of thanks were duly accorded to the Prov . Grand Officers for the assistance rendered that day . Several propositions for advancement vvere made and the lodge vvas closed in due form .

After the consecration as above the Prov . Grand Lodge was declared open . The minutes of the Provincial Grand Lodge vvere read and confirmed , and the Prov . G . Treasurer ' s accounts were received and passed . The receipts , including £ 17 2 s . Sd . in hand amounted to £ 41 9 s . 2 d ., and the disbursements , including £ 4 45 . for regalia , and £ 5 5 s . donation tothe Mark Benevolent
Fund was £ 16 2 s ., being a balance of £ 25 6 s . 11 . Bro . Rastrick was for the fourth successive year unanimously elected Treasurer . The W . M . ' s of lodges 320 and 340 , were elected on the Committee for
auditing the Prov . G . Treasurer's accounts . , Bro . TILLING , P . G . Sec , made a statement relative to the progress ano business of the province , showing there were 11 Mark Lodges in the province , one of which the Economy , 52 , Winchester , was not working , and the Army Military Lodge , Aldershot , had made no returns .
