stationed prelates now-a-days seems totally to depend , will do well to take the Bishop's misbehaviour into serious consideration . The sacred Synod of Athens will , moreover , find that an unpopular , inefficient , and vain-glorious head of the Church , and a man generally known to be full of ostentation , is even more damaging to its reputation , and more dangerous to its numerous flock than any of its
greatest foes . We are certain that Bishop Lattas has caused this Jubilee scandal , and all the mischief which may arise therefrom , only to appease a thirst of vain-glory , as if by such means it were possible that anything can turn in his
favour . He will , sooner or later , see his mistake .
