marked ability , and submitted the usual loyal and Alasonic toasts , which were duly honoured . Bro . VV . J . Waugh , Prov . G . Reg ., responded on behalf of "The Provincial Grand Officers , Present and Past . " Bro . Thos . Denby , P . M ., P . P . G . D . C , proposed "The Visitors , " which was responded to by the VVorshipful Alasters of the visiting lodges .
The Worshipful AIaster proposed "The Retiring Master , " and complimented Bro . Telford on the able manner in which he had conducted the lodge during the past year , and stated that it gave him great pleasure to take over the Alastership of the lodge in such a very satisfactory condition . Bro . Telford , I . P . M ., responded , and thanked the officers and brethren for their cordial support , which had rendered his year of office so very pleasing to himself . He concluded
by proposing "The Health of the Worshipful Master , " which was received by the brethren with much enthusiasm . Bro . Wheatley Jackson , W . AL , responded . He thanked the brethren for the honour they had conferred upon him , and promised to do his best to maintain the prestige of the lodge . Several other toasts followed , which were interspersed with songs , and the Tyler ' s toast brought the proceedings to a close .

The musical portion was under the direction of Bro . The jewel is a very line specimen of art , having the town arms enamelled on a shield in proper colours . The brethren afterwards dined together in their dining hall under the presidency ot the VV . M ., about 40 sitting down . The jewel was manufactured by Bro . George Kenning .
