ISSUE OF TOURIST AND WEEK-END TICKETS DURING THE WINTER . —The Great Northern Railway Company announce that they have arranged to continue the issue of tourist tickets during the winter months to many of the principal seaside and health resorts to which such tickets were issued during the summer months . The same fares will be charged and the tickets will be issued by ordinary trains , available for return on any day within two calendar months . The cheap week-end tickets will also be issued as usual on each Friday and Saturday throughout the year . Programmes containing full information as to fares , routes , & c , can be obtained on application at Great Northern Stations or town offices .

THE MASONIC FRATSRNITY of Hawaii is doing a wise thing in sounding a timely note of warning to the American fortune hunters who are preparing to flock there . The Masonic Lodge of Honolulu has sent a circular to kindred lodges in this country warning them to discourage emigration to the islands , excepting those who come prepared to wage the battle of life under practically the same auspices that they leave
behind . In other words , there are no roast pigs with saucers of apple sauce in their mouths running around loose in Hawaii . The islands are marvels of fertility , but the man who goes there must be prepared to work hard for his living and also to spend money for success . THE MASONIC FRATSRNITY of Hawaii is doing a wise thing in sounding a timely note of warning to the American fortune hunters who are preparing to flock there . The Masonic Lodge of Honolulu has sent a circular to kindred lodges in this country warning them to discourage emigration to the islands , excepting those who come prepared to wage the battle of life under practically the same auspices that they leave
behind . In other words , there are no roast pigs with saucers of apple sauce in their mouths running around loose in Hawaii . The islands are marvels of fertility , but the man who goes there must be prepared to work hard for his living and also to spend money for success . Labour is cheap there , and it is only the capitalist , small or large , who has a chance to succeed .
AT THE INSTANCE of the Bishopstrate Lodge , No . 2395 , a Masonic service , which was attended in State by the Lord Mayor ( a Past Master of the Lodge ) and the Sheriffs , was held on the 2 nd inst ., at St . Botolph ' s Church , Bishopsgate , in aid of the funds of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys . A dispensation had been obtained for brethren to appear in Craft clothing and jewels .
