M ., Bro . T . Phipps Dorman , G . J . D ., the chair was taken by Bro . N . Goodchild , I . P . M . The minutes of the last meeting having been read and confirmed , Bro . Alfred

Molony , W . M . elect , was duly installed in the chair . The o ( fi : ers for the ensuing year were appointed and invested . The W . M ., Bro . Molony , then initiated Bro . R . Barnes into the Degrees of St . Lawrence , Knight of Constantinople and Red Cross of Babylon . A Tabernacle of the Order of Grand High Priest was opened , and the W . M . initiated Comps . Styles and Barnes into that beautiful Degree . A res > lution wis unmimoisly carried altering the dates of meeting from the fourth Friday to the fourth Saturday in April and October . After the council was closed , the brethren dined together at th ; Freemason ;' Tavern .

VV . ; E . Collins , J . W . ; H . T . Meadows , P . M ., Sec . ; A . Fergusson . S . D . ; Gernon , J . D . ; Arthur Rippin , I . G . ; D . Harlow , P . M ., Preceptor ; E . Croft Wise , P . M . ; C . Butcher , P . M . ; Randell , P . M . ; J . Smith , P . M ., Asst . Sec . ; Williams , Read , Page , Miles , Rix , Brooks , Farr , Taylor , and several others .

The lodge being opened in due form , and the minutes of the last meeting read and confirmed , it was notified by the Secretary that that would be the last meeting held at their present quarters , circumstances having arisen necessitating the removal of the lodge of instruction to some other house , for which the W . M . of the Mother Lodge had given his permission and the Grand Secretary his sanction , and that , conseq uently , on and after the 9 th inst . the lodge will meet at Bro . Stevenson ' s , The Whittington , 5 and 7 , Moor-lane , Fore-street , and on the opening night at their new house , the Preceptor , Bro . D . Harlow , P . M ., by special request , will occupy the chair , and it is hoped that an

extra strong muster of brethren will be present to support the worthy Preceptor on that occasion . The W . M . then opened the lodge in the Second Degree , and Bro . Brown , W . M . 1446 , answering the usual questions , was entrusted . The lodge was then opened in the Third Degree , and the ceremony of raising rehearsed , Bro . Brown acting as candidate . The W . M . afterwards resumed the lodge in the First Degree , and rising the first and second times , Bros . Randell and Page were unanimously elected members . Rising for the third-time , " Hearty good wishes " were tendered to the W . M ., and the lodge was closed .

METROPOLITAN LODGE , No . 105 G . This lodge of instruction which has achieved no mean reputation , gave visit > rs a very pleasant and profitable evening at the Mail Coach . Farringd in-street , on Friiiy , the 2 Sth ult ., when Bro . J . Knight , S . D . SGi , Section Master for the occasion , hid for his officers Bros . H . Whiting , P . M . SGi , in the W . ; H . B . Spaull , S . W . 145 , in the S . ; F . P . Weinell , P . M . 1 S 2 S , the Preceptor , as I . P . M . ; and Waldvogel , P . M . 1 S 2 S , as I . G . The programme promised the jFifteen Sections , and these were so given as to add to

the reputation of the lodge . 1 he section Master was assisted by the following brethren , who combined to make kis task a most agreeable one . In the First Lecture , Bro . VV . 145 In the Third Lecture , Bro . W . Waldvogel . gave the First Section , and Bro . H . Whitney the Second and Third . Bro . E . S . Lardner created a profound impression by his rendering of the Grand Section which he had undertaken , as was testified by the close attention with which he wis followed , and the emphatic expression of approval which was elicited . Bro . Weinell and Bro . Whitney both did double duty , each in the second instance , at the call of the Section

Master , promptl y taking up work which hid been allotted to brethren who were unable to attend . Not infrequently the work in a lodge of instruction licks the verve shown on other occasions ; but the brethren to whom on this night the votes of thanks were accorded had justly . earned what was no mere empty compliment , sam : of the visiting brethren being so influenced by the excellence of the working , as eagerly to avail themselves of the opportunity offered for j lining . Indeed , there cin bj no doubt that this lodge is doing good work for the Crait , the zeal and earnestness of the popular Preceptor in no small degree contributing to that desirable end .

BRONDESBURY LODGE , No . 26 jS . The first meeting on Monday evenings was held on the 31 st ultimo at the Earl Derby , High-road , Kilburn , under the presidency of Bro . Harry Willsmer , W . M ., and others . Lodge having been duly opened and the minutes of the previous meeting read and

confirmed , the ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . W . G . Coxen acting as candidate . The ancient charge was impressively delivered . The W . M . then vacated the chair in favour of Bro . R . J . Campbell , who proceeded to rehearse the ceremony of passing , Bro . Greaves acting as candidate . Bro . Greaves was proposed and accepted as a joining member . Acknowledgments were made of presentations of a set of officers' collars by Bro . A . W . Wyatt and a box of working to » ls by Bro . Harry Willsmer , Hon . Sec . Promisrs were given by three other prominent members of the lodge to provide jewels , a pair of pedestals , and squire and compasses for the bib ' e by next meeting . Bro . A meeting of the Masonic Charities Association was held and four ballots taken , resulting in favour of Bros . J . Carter , W . F . Fagan , A . Rusby , and G . Brown , for life subscriberships .

BRO . THE REV . THOMAS DOUGHTY . The funeral of Bro . the Rev . Thomas Doughty , who for two years and nine months had been an inmate of St . Barnabas' Home for aged and disabled clergy , took place on the 25 th ult . Bro . Doaghty was the second inmate admitted to the Home ; he was strongly recommended by the Bishop of Ely and two beneficed clergy . His was a very sad case . For 36 years he had worked well , and with

great acceptability , in a number of important curacies and sole charges . In 18 91 he broke down completely from a complication of chest and heart disease , and for five years was living in great penury , unable to get more than the barest necessaries of life . On his admission to the Home , under the care of the doctor and nursing staff , his health so much improved that he was soon able to attend the chapel services , and to go out for drives and short walks . He bore with great resignation his long and often painful illness , and passed away , deeply

mourned by every member of the staff and inmate of the Home , on the 15 th ult . His last words to the Warden were , " G id bless you , you have been a true brother to me . Thank God for all the Home has done for me ! " Bro . Doughty was buried in the beautiful churchyard at Lingfield ; the Rev . W . G . Bryan ( Vicar ) officiating . The funeral was attended by all the present inmates of the Home . The Hon . Sec . and Warden , much to his regret , was unavoidably absent . Bro . Doughty was an old Freemason , having been initiated in the Lodge of Lights , No . 148 , Warrington , in the year 1865 .

FUNERAL OF THE LATE BRO . EDWARD G . SENINGTON . At the funeral , on the 22 nd ult ., of the late Bro . Edward C . Senington , who lost his life in the wreck of the Mohegan , there were many strangers , as well as relations and friends present to pay a tribute to the memory of a brave man . The coffin was borne from St . Paul's-street , Bristol , the residence of the deceased ' s sister , to the quiet little burial ground in Brunswick-sq lare , and the sal

procession on its brief journey was watched with respectful and sympathetic interest b y those who chanced to be in the neighbourhood . The widow and three young daughters , Mr . Frank Senington ( only brother ) , Mrs . N . Revie ( sister ) , and Mr . N . Revie ( brother-in-law ) , with other relatives , followed immediately behind the collin , and others at the graveside were Mr . C . Harris , a personal friend of the deceased mariner , who represented the owners of the Mohegan ( the Atlantic

Transport Company ) , Mr . S . Cox , Messrs . D . Churchill , Arthur Phillips , H . J . Roberts , A . G . Powell , L . F . Stevens , W . Powell , A . Powell , and Frank Forse ( representing the Old Croft School Boys Society ) , and the following representatives of the Craft : Bros . Harford , P . M ., P . P . G . D . ; Owner , P . M ., P . P . G . D . ; H . G . Courtenay , 5 . W . ; S . G . Moxey , [ . P . M . ; W . Ireland , F . Owen , W . James , H . B . Stone , J . Stoate , and G . Langford . Before the burial the mourners and friends gathered in the little chapel , and the Rev . A . N . Blatchford , who had

known the deceased for very many years , gave a brief address , in the course of which he paid eloquent tribute to the deceased's simple , brave , and unpretentious manhood , and of the example he set to all , even to those whose lives were cast in a quieter sphere , by his steadfast adherence to the supreme principle of duty . The coffin , which bore a simple inscription , without reference to the terrible disaster which had occasioned the loss of so many lives , was covered with beautiful wreaths , including one from the survivors of the crew of the ill-fated steamship Mohegan .

In 18 91 he broke down completely from a complication of chest and heart disease , and for five years was living in great penury , unable to get more than the barest necessaries of life . On his admission to the Home , under the care of the doctor and nursing staff , his health so much improved that he was soon able to attend the chapel services , and to go out for drives and short walks . He bore with great resignation his long and often painful illness , and passed away , deeply

mourned by every member of the staff and inmate of the Home , on the 15 th ult . His last words to the Warden were , " G id bless you , you have been a true brother to me . Thank God for all the Home has done for me ! " Bro . Doughty was buried in the beautiful churchyard at Lingfield ; the Rev . W . G . Bryan ( Vicar ) officiating . The funeral was attended by all the present inmates of the Home . The Hon . Sec . and Warden , much to his regret , was unavoidably absent . Bro . Doughty was an old Freemason , having been initiated in the Lodge of Lights , No . 148 , Warrington , in the year 1865 .

FUNERAL OF THE LATE BRO . EDWARD G . SENINGTON . At the funeral , on the 22 nd ult ., of the late Bro . Edward C . Senington , who lost his life in the wreck of the Mohegan , there were many strangers , as well as relations and friends present to pay a tribute to the memory of a brave man . The coffin was borne from St . Paul's-street , Bristol , the residence of the deceased ' s sister , to the quiet little burial ground in Brunswick-sq lare , and the sal

procession on its brief journey was watched with respectful and sympathetic interest b y those who chanced to be in the neighbourhood . The widow and three young daughters , Mr . Frank Senington ( only brother ) , Mrs . N . Revie ( sister ) , and Mr . N . Revie ( brother-in-law ) , with other relatives , followed immediately behind the collin , and others at the graveside were Mr . C . Harris , a personal friend of the deceased mariner , who represented the owners of the Mohegan ( the Atlantic

Transport Company ) , Mr . S . Cox , Messrs . D . Churchill , Arthur Phillips , H . J . Roberts , A . G . Powell , L . F . Stevens , W . Powell , A . Powell , and Frank Forse ( representing the Old Croft School Boys Society ) , and the following representatives of the Craft : Bros . Harford , P . M ., P . P . G . D . ; Owner , P . M ., P . P . G . D . ; H . G . Courtenay , 5 . W . ; S . G . Moxey , [ . P . M . ; W . Ireland , F . Owen , W . James , H . B . Stone , J . Stoate , and G . Langford . Before the burial the mourners and friends gathered in the little chapel , and the Rev . A . N . Blatchford , who had

known the deceased for very many years , gave a brief address , in the course of which he paid eloquent tribute to the deceased's simple , brave , and unpretentious manhood , and of the example he set to all , even to those whose lives were cast in a quieter sphere , by his steadfast adherence to the supreme principle of duty . The coffin , which bore a simple inscription , without reference to the terrible disaster which had occasioned the loss of so many lives , was covered with beautiful wreaths , including one from the survivors of the crew of the ill-fated steamship Mohegan .
