since elapsed , won many distinctions in FVeeinasonry ; nor have his labours been confined to any particular branch of our Order . That lie has signalised his tenure of his principal office ( that of Craft Provincial Grand Master ) is shown by the increasing respect entertained for him among his Somersetshire brethren , who , when he presided as

Chairman at the Benevolent Festival last year , supported him loyally and to good purpose . In the Mark Degree he has held high positions , having been successively S . G . Warden in 1890 , and D . G . M . under the Earl of Euston as Pro G Master . In the course of the present year he has become Prov . G . Master of Kent , in succession to the late Bro .

M . of the Loyal Monmouth Lodge , No . 457 , Monmouth , and is also a Prov . S . G . W . of Monmouthshire . In 1894 , after the post of Prov . G .

Master of South Wales ( E . D . ) had become vacant by the death of Bro . Sir George Elliot , Bart ., his lordship was appointed to succeed him , and was in due course installed . Since then he has had the satisfaction of witnessing a considerable increase in the number of lodges under his rule , there being two which have been consecrated by him during the present year .

M ., as his successor , wliile the year following , on the Dist . G . Mastership of Bombay becoming vacant , the Duke was elected to fill it . He is also the representative at our
