We think the idea that the date of the ori gin of the present system of Symbolic Masonry can be traced to the Temple of Solomon is an exploded one . The finding of stone chairs , arranged in position as used in lodges to-day , does not prove that they were used in any Masonic body .
From the bowels of the earth , b y the aid of man ' s ingenuity , most anything can be proven . To fix definitely the organisation of the Craft at the Temple of Solomon something more than a crumbling stone chair in a subterranean cavern is necessary . —New York Dispatch .
