This book contains a MS . of the Pentateuch ; ancl , to shew the value of a copy , we were informed that it is at Jerusalem only that the rabbins may devote themselves
to this labour . Years are consumed in the production of one of these copies ; for the slightest error , the smallest erasure , the most minute imperfection or inequality in the letters , necessitates the recommencement of the work .
