acknowledgements , and commented on with great address . Comp . WILSON proposed the health of the First Principal , Comp . J Udall , who was necessarily absent , and paid a merited eulogium to him . Comp . Crucefix gave " The Four Charities of the Order , " in which he took a range of the general excellence of all , concluding by expressing a hope that while there was room for all , none should be neglected ; and , least of allthe Mason ' s Hope—the Temple itself—the Asylum . , address was listened to with great attention , and called up Bro . Faudel , who returned thanks as Steward for the Girls' School Festival , and Bro . AVylcl , who did so as Steward for the Festival of the Asylum . Other toasts and sentiments followed , and the evening passed in a most happy manner .
ROYAL ALPHA LODGE , May 20 . —A meeting was held for the purpose of recording the demise of H . R . H . tbe Duke of Sussex , late Master of the Lodge , j BANK OP ENGLAND , June 9—We must not altogether pass over fhe Meeting of Recreation of this Lodge , ivhich was held at Bro . Quarterman ' s at Greenwich ; but there were choice spirits there , ivho so beguiled the time with wit and humour , that we frankl y confess to our inability as reporters- We ask leave to sit again in 1844 , when we promise not to be less happy , but to bear in mind that our enjoyment ought not to make us forgetful of our duty .
ENCAMPMENT OP FAITH AND FIDELITY , May 30 . —A meeting of the members took place under the auspices of Sir Knt . II . Udall , which was numerously attended . Among the visitors were the venerable Archdeacon AA ^ . B . Mant ( of the Grand Council of Rites , Ireland ) , and Dr . Crucefix . The installation was most admirably conducted by E . Commander H- Udall , who also presided at the banquet , at ivhich several pointed addresses were given with their usual effect .
CROSS OF CHRIST ENCAMPMENT , June 1 G . —The exaltation of Comp . ~ W . Tucker , of Coryton Park , Devon , gave the E . Commander \ A ackerbath an opportunity of installing a most worthy member of the Order .
