CASTLE LODGE , NO . 36 . —January 31 . —Bro . Townend having been unanimously elected Worshi pful Master for the year ensuing , was duly installed , when he appointed Bro . James Townend , S . AV ., and Bro . W . R . Packwood , J . AV . The ceremony was efficientl y performed b y Bro . R . B . Newsom , P . M ., who delivered suitable addresses to each officer , aud congratulated the lodge upon having so talented a Brother to preside over themadding thatassisted as he
, , would be by efficient officers , be did not doubt , the Castle Lodge ivould maintain its hi gh standing among the lodges of the Craft for its observance of the ancient laws and regulations of the Order , sound Masonic working , and hospitality ; as well as that its officers and members would evince every disposition to assist in , ancl support the expressed intentions of the Worshi pful Master , as to the delivering of lectures ami explaining-the tracing-boards of the several Degrees-with

In conformity with our intention to afford a space for a Report of the Proceedings of the Metropolitan and Provincial Lodges , we beg to recommend to the general consideration and adoption of our readers , amotion ( brought forward by Bro . H . B . Newsom , P . M . of the Castle Lodge ) for the establishment of a Special Charity Fundto be raised
, , by the imposition of a small additional sum to the Initiation , antl Joining Fees as well as from the annual subscriptions of the members of the lodge . A brief g lance at the substance and order of the resolutions , set forth by the Brother referred to , and a few of bis remarks in support of them , will ftrin at once ihe best comment and advocacy we can make in their favour , feeling satisfied of their intrinsic claims to the consideration of the Craft in general .
