held its meeting at the Old Rodney ' s Head , 12 Old-street , Goswell road , on Monday , 26 th inst . Present—Bros . R . Pearcy W . M ., Isaac S . W ., Millward J . W ., Stock S . D ., A . W . Fenner Secretary , Tolmie acting Preceptor , Halford J . D ., Trewinnard I . G ., S . Rowley , J . Par . kinson , Cook , Killick , L . Finkelstein . Lodge opened in due form . Minutes read and confirmed . Lodge opened in 2 nd degree . Bro . Halford answered the usual questions and was entrusted . Lodge

opened in 3 rd degree . The ceremony of raising was very excellently rehearsed by the W . M ., who also gave the traditional history , Bro . Halford acting aa candidate . Lodge resumed to 1 st , when the W . M . worked the 4 th , and Bro . Tolmie tho Sth sections of the lecture , assisted by the brethren . Bro . Leopold Finkelstein , of Lower Lodge 309 ( Scotland ) , was duly elected a member . Bro . Isaac was chosen W . M . for the next gathering ( no meeting will be held on Easter Mon . day ) . Lodge was then closed and adjourned .

—This Lodge held its meeting on Monday , the 26 th inst ., at 101 Queen Victoria-street , E . C . Present—Bros . Nelson Reed W . M ., Sharratt S . W ., Shand J . W . and Sec , C . J . Lodgo opened , the ceremony of installation was worked by Bro . Mander . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Morgan as candidate . The Preceptor worked the 4 th and 5 th sections of the lecture . Bro . S . W . Sharratt was elected W . M . for next meeting . Lodge closed in due form .

Prosperity Lodge , No . 65 . —The installation meeting of this Lodgo was held on Thursday , 22 nd inst . Present—Bros . J . Carrnthers W . M ., Beadel as S . W ., C . Daniel J . W ., J . H . Goodwin P . M . Treasurer , G . Broom Secretary , E . W . Braine I . G . ; P . M . ' s Bros . A . L . Leins I . P . M ., T . Davey , Cornwall , E . Arnold , J . Betterby , & o . The Lodge was opened , and the minutes confirmed . Ballots were taken

for the admission of Messrs . H . Stadden , A . Plater , and T . Sewell . The former gentleman was initiated by Bro . A . L . Leins , and the two latter by the W . M . A Board of Installed Masters was formed , Bro . Davey P . M . acting as D . C , Bro . C . Daniel S . W . and W . M . Elect was presented to the Lodge , and was duly installed into the chair by Bro . A . L . Leins , in his usual careful and impressive manner .

On the admission of the brethren , the W . M . was saluted according to ancient custom , and invested his officers , Bros . J . 0 . Carruthers I . P . M ., G . F . Burge S . W ., G . T . Brown J . W ., Goodwin P . M . Treasurer , C . F . Ferry Secretary , E . W . Braine S . D ., Matthews J . D ., Sim I . G ., A . L . Leins P . M . D . C , Wright W . S ., Chicken A . W . S ., Speight Tyler . The appointment of the officers was received with marks of approba .

tion . Bro . Leins was warmly congratulated on the conclusion of the ceremony by every brother and visitor . Bro . Muggleton proposed , and Bro . Cornwall P . M . seconded , that the snm of ten guineas be given from the funds of the Lodge for the purpose of presenting a testimonial to the Treasurer , Bro . Goodwin P . M ., for the efficient manner he had discharged the duties of that office , and that a vote of

thanks be recorded on the minutes . This was carried unanimously . The report of the Audit Committee was read , showing the Lodge was in a flourishing state , with a balance in hand of £ 117 16 s 6 d . A committee was formed for the purpose of carrying out the arrangements for the summer banquet . A vote of thanks waa unanimously accorded to Bro . A . Leins P . M . for the efficient manner he had discharged his duties as Installing Master , and also for his valuable

assistance rendered to the Lodge in every capacity . The resignation of two Past Masters was accepted , with regret . Bro . Lake then pointed ont the loss the brethren had sustained by transferring the worthy Secretary , Bro . G . T . Brown , to the office of Junior Warden , he had discharged the duties of Secretary in every respect to their satisfaction , he had never seen books better kept , and he proposed a vote of thanks to him , which was seconded and carried timanimously . The Lodge waa then closed , and the brethren , 93 in

number , sat down to a sumptuous banquet and dessert , provided by Bros . Ritter and Clifford . Tho W . M . proposed the Queen and the Craft . The National Anthem was then sun < f . Tho Toast of H . R . H . the M . W . S . M . was enthusiastically received ,- also that of the Pro G . M ., the Deputy G . M ., and the rest of the Grand Officers . Bro . J . Car . ruthers rose for tho first time as I . P . M . He felt great pleasure in

proposing the health of the W . M ., who , be considered , was a credit to the Lodge . Ho had discharged the duties of every office he held satisfactorily , and he would ask them to drink the toast with the enthusiasm it merited . Bro . Brown J . W . then sang a capital song . The W . M . thanked the brethren , he had always worked for the honour and dignity of the Lodge . He might want soma assistance from the

Past Masters , and he waa sure of their support . He hoped , at tho expiration of his year of office , to hear the same kind expressions , and he hoped the Lodge would henceforth merit the name , Prosperity . ( Cheers . ) He then proposed the I . P . M ., Bro . Carruthers , who , while occupying the chair , had done his duty , and left a good balance . His year of office was a successful one , and he had much pleasure , in the

name of the Lodge , to present him with a valuable gold watoh , and a Gold Past Master ' s Jewel , of very artistic design , with suitable inscription , in recognition of services rendered to the Lodge . He hoped he might livelong to wear both . Bro . Hartley then sung a humorous song . Bro . Carruthers in reply , thanked the brethren fortheir kind expressions and valuable gifts ; words almost failed him to utter the sentiments

uppermost in his breast , he had always had the interest of the Lodge at heart , he had worked in a straight and undeviating line , and whenever he looked on their valuable presents , it would be a pleasing remembrance of his connection with the Lodge . The W . M ., then proposed the newly initiated brethren , and Bro . Speight sang the E . A . song : the toast having been responded to , the W . M . proposed

the Visitors . Bro . R . A . Wright P . P . G . S . D . Herts , and H . M . Levy P . M . 188 , responded , and in the course of their speeches paid just compliments to tho W . M ., for the excellent manner in which he had invested his Officers , and also for his genial presiding , both of which showed he was fully capable of fufilling the duties of tho chair . The toast of the installing Master , Bro . A . L . Leins was next

honoured . Bro . Leins P . M ., in a very excellent speech , responded . The toast of the Past Masters , Wardens , Treasurer , Secretary and Officers were severally given and responded to , tho Tyler ' s toast concluded a very agreeable evening . Bro . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Harris candidate . Bro .

Wharman answered the questions leading to the second degree , and was entrusted . The Lodge was opened in the second , and Bro . Wharman duly passed . The Lodge was resumed to the first . Tho first section of the lecture was worked by Bro . Walker , second by Bro . Hewlett , third by Bro . Ellis , assisted by the brethren . Bro . Lipscombe jun . answered the questions leading to aecon degree , for

his instruction . It was proposed by Bro . Hewlett , seconded by the J . W ., thatBro . DanielbeW . M . for the ensuing Tuesday . It was proposed by Bro . Hollands , seconded by Bro . Walker , that the sum of £ 1 ls should be devoted to charity , by purchasing to that amount Bro . Constable's tickets . Tbe same was carried unanimously , an example all Lodges

of Instruction should follow . It was explained to Bro . Daniel and Brown that the votes ( should any be successful ) would be for the future benefit of this Lodge . Bro . Cornwall P . M ., through Bro . Brown , thanked the brethren for having voted him an honorary member , for what he considered so small a gift . Nothing further offering , the Lodge was closed in due form .

Joppa Chapter , No . 188 . —A convocation of this Chapter waa held on Monday , the 26 th , at the Albion Tavern , Aldersgate . street . Comp . E . A . Albert P . Z . as M . E . Z . in the absence of Comp . Emanuel , W . Littanr H ., H . M . Levy P . Z . as J ., S . V . Abrahams P . Z . Treasnrer , P . Dickinson S . E ., L . Lazarus P . S . j P . Z . ' s S . Lazarus , J . CJien 205 , S . Botiboi 188 , J . E . Walters , and L . Brail 1017 , who wero unanimously accepted . The latter Bro . being in attendance , was duly exalted into R . A . Masonry , the ceremony boing admirably worked . A sum

of five guineas was placed on the list of Comp . H . M . Levy P . Z ., who is a Steward for the next anniversary Festival of the Royal Masonio Institution for Girls , in May . After some other business the Chapter was closed . The companions then sat down to a very sumptuous banquet , provided by Comp . W . J . Jennings , and superintended by Comp . Keeping , assisted by Comp . M . Silver . The acting M . E . Z ., Comp . E . P . Albert , presided very ably and genially .

He proposed the usual Loyal and R . A . toasts . In introducing that of the newly exalted Companion , he said it was a pleasing duty ; thou new Comp . was one in every respect worthy of their esteem . He haa been known and respected in his Lodge , and he was sure every one wonld bo proud to see him among them for many years . Comp . Brail responded . He was greatly pleased to be a member of tho Chapter . Comp . H . M . Levy P . Z . then proposed the toast of the acting M . E . Z . Although the absence of the M . E . Z , was regretted ,

name of the Lodge , to present him with a valuable gold watoh , and a Gold Past Master ' s Jewel , of very artistic design , with suitable inscription , in recognition of services rendered to the Lodge . He hoped he might livelong to wear both . Bro . Hartley then sung a humorous song . Bro . Carruthers in reply , thanked the brethren fortheir kind expressions and valuable gifts ; words almost failed him to utter the sentiments

uppermost in his breast , he had always had the interest of the Lodge at heart , he had worked in a straight and undeviating line , and whenever he looked on their valuable presents , it would be a pleasing remembrance of his connection with the Lodge . The W . M ., then proposed the newly initiated brethren , and Bro . Speight sang the E . A . song : the toast having been responded to , the W . M . proposed

the Visitors . Bro . R . A . Wright P . P . G . S . D . Herts , and H . M . Levy P . M . 188 , responded , and in the course of their speeches paid just compliments to tho W . M ., for the excellent manner in which he had invested his Officers , and also for his genial presiding , both of which showed he was fully capable of fufilling the duties of tho chair . Wharman answered the questions leading to the second degree , and was entrusted . The Lodge was opened in the second , and Bro . Wharman duly passed . The Lodge was resumed to the first . Tho first section of the lecture was worked by Bro . Walker , second by Bro . Hewlett , third by Bro . Ellis , assisted by the brethren . Bro . Lipscombe jun . answered the questions leading to aecon degree , for

his instruction . It was proposed by Bro . Hewlett , seconded by the J . W ., thatBro . DanielbeW . M . for the ensuing Tuesday . It was proposed by Bro . Hollands , seconded by Bro . Walker , that the sum of £ 1 ls should be devoted to charity , by purchasing to that amount Bro . Constable's tickets . Tbe same was carried unanimously , an example all Lodges

of Instruction should follow . It was explained to Bro . Daniel and Brown that the votes ( should any be successful ) would be for the future benefit of this Lodge . Bro . Cornwall P . M ., through Bro . Brown , thanked the brethren for having voted him an honorary member , for what he considered so small a gift . Nothing further offering , the Lodge was closed in due form .

of five guineas was placed on the list of Comp . H . M . Levy P . Z ., who is a Steward for the next anniversary Festival of the Royal Masonio Institution for Girls , in May . After some other business the Chapter was closed . The companions then sat down to a very sumptuous banquet , provided by Comp . W . J . Jennings , and superintended by Comp . Keeping , assisted by Comp . M . Silver . The acting M . E . Z ., Comp . E . P . Albert , presided very ably and genially .

He proposed the usual Loyal and R . A . toasts . In introducing that of the newly exalted Companion , he said it was a pleasing duty ; thou new Comp . was one in every respect worthy of their esteem . He haa been known and respected in his Lodge , and he was sure every one wonld bo proud to see him among them for many years . Comp . Brail responded .
