THE BOYS SCHOOL FESTIVAL .
THE 103 rd Anniversary Festival of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys was celebrated under the presidency of Bro . W . W . B . Beach , M . P ., Provincial Grand Master of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight , at the Crystal Palace , Sydenham , on Wednesday , the weather being delightful and the popular holiday
resort being seen at its best . The banquet hall overlooked the fine grounds of the Palace , and was filled to its utmost capacity bv Ladies and Brethren , who most cordially received the Chairman of the day when he entered and took his seat . Bro . Beach was accompanied by Mrs . Beach , and was immediately supported by Col . John Davis , A . D . C ., the newly appointed Provincial Grand
Master of Surrey , who has kindly consented to preside at next year ' s Festival on behalf of this Institution ; Viscount Templetown , who enjoys the unique distinction of being Senior Warden in the Grand Lodges of both England and Ireland ; and many other Grand and Provincial Grand Officers , conspicuous among the company being the leaders of the Craft in the Chairman ' s own Province of Hampshire and Isle of Wight , which was represented
by no fewer than forty-five Stewards , many of whom were accompanied by their wife , daughter , or lady friend . The banquet was first class , and was excellently served , the arrangement of the party at small tables really facilitating matters , although at first sight the departure from custom seemed less attractive than what we tare accustomed to at the Festivals of the Craft . The caterers , Messrs . Lyons and Co ., certainly deserve great commendation for the wav in which the } ' carried out their share of the Festival .
Grace before and after the banquet was said by Bro . H . R . Cooper Smith , D . D ., P . G . Chaplain , and the Chairman at once proceeded with the toasts of the day . Loyalty to the Sovereign of the country , said Bro . Beach , was the duty of every Englishman , and it was a duty that was
discharged with the greatest of pleasure by every member of the Masonic Order . Indeed , to Miasons he felt he need make no appeal to ensure a hearty reception of the first toast , for from His Majesty's Jong connection with the Craft as Grand Master they had special cause to honour his name and wish him a long and prosperous reign .
