THE annual meeting of this Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Masons took place on Saturday afternoon , 22 nd inst , at the Hotel Victoria , New Brighton , the Hon . Alan De Tatton Egerton , M . P ., Provincial Grand Master presiding over an attendance of about sixty Brethren , representing

the ten Mark Lodges of the Province . Included in the attendance were Bros . Frederick Broadsmith , the newlyappointed Deputy Provincial Grand Master , and Richard Newhouse Provincial Grand Secretary . The principal business was the investiture of the

At the close of the Provincial Grand Lodge the Brethren sat down to a high tea , and the customary Loyal and Mark toasts were honoured .

CHURCH SERVICE .

THE annual service of the Provincial Grand Lodge of North Munster was held on Friday evening , 21 st inst , in

St . Mary s Cathedral , Limerick , when the Lord Bishop of Ossory preached an eloquent and impressive sermon , on the text " A new Commandment I give unto you that ye love one another , " to a representative gathering of Freemasons . Much interest was created in the ceremonies observed in the

service . The Brethren assembled in the J ebb Chapel , and whilst they proceeded in procession to their appointed seats Mr .

Frank Muspratt , the cathedral organist , played a march in E flat ( Archer ) . The Provincial Grand Master Sir Charles Barrington , Bart , was received with the customary honour of an arch of swords .

****************** A grant of twenty guineas to the British Medical Benevolent Fund was made on the occasion of the Installation meeting of the Rahere Lodge , No . 2546 , held on the nth inst , in the Great Hall of St . Bartholomew ' s Hospital ( kindly lent for the occasion by the Treasurer and Almoners ) .

The report of the Audit Committee showed that £ 6 g 6 s had been expended by the Lodge during the past year in the cause of Charity . The annual banquet was afterwards held at the Frascati Restaurant , and was attended by nearly ninety Brethren .
