In proposing tho toast of the visitors , which was done in the most hearty aud fraternal manner possible , tho M . E . Z . expressed the ' pleasure ho experienced in seeing so many distinguished visitors present . He said the Everton Chapter takes great delight in having as many visitors as can come , he

regretted there were so few . During his year of office ho wonld be glad to see all who might pay them a visit , without mentioning any names , it would suffice to say he Avas delighted to see them , and hoped they would come again to seo their working . The toast was drunk with enthusiasm . Comps . Milne and Beesley favoured tho Companions with more harmony , after which Comps . AA'illiams , Pearson ,

Avis kindly responded to the call for a song . Bro . Maemuldrow , in reply to the last toast , said , in proportion to tho hononr and

significance of being a Provincial Grand Officer , he esteemed and wore those honours , and trusted ho would be ablo to do so with every consideration , and thanked the Worshipful Master for uniting his namo with tho toast , and tho brethren for receiving it in such a cordial manner . Bro . Sandbrook kindly favoured the brethren with a song . Tho Worshipful Master next gave tho toast of the Past Masters ,

coupling tho name of Bro . AV . S . Vinos P . M . Prov . G . D . C . Bro . Maemuldrow favoured tho brethren with a song in the interval . Bro . Vines rose to respond to the toast of tho Past Masters , and said ho had indulged in the hope that tho AVorshipfiil Master would dispense with the toast he had so kindly given , and which had been so heartily received by thorn all ; ho expressed his readiness to do all in his

power for tho good of the Loclgo , but regretted the absence of other Past Masters . Tho working of the Lodge is always enhanced by tho presence of tho Officers , past nnd present ; and it was to bo deprecated that ono of the principal Officers was so ofton absent . He thanked tho brethren for tho cordial manner in which tho toast was drunk , and before ho resumed his seat ho availed himself of the

great pleasure he experienced in proposing tho health of the AVorshipfiil Master . In offering this toast it was qnite un . necessary for him to tell tho brethren how deep an interest the AVorshipfiil Master took in tho Lodgo and tho Craft , and how well ho had filled the Office of Master of this Lodcro . The toast was most cordially drank . Bro . T . AV . llndd kindly gave

tho next song . Tho AV . M . in responding to the toast last proposed by W . Bro . Vines , returned his sincere thanks , and regretted that there had not boon more work , as was anticipated . He hoped that the Visitors would pardon any inconvenience they might bo put to , as certain eventualities had to bo gone into . Bro . Bramham ably sang the next song . Tho W . M . rose for tho last time to

propose a toast which , ho said , was more heartily drunk in the Pembroke Lodge than any other , because tho members all rejoiced to seo thoir visiting brethren , and no Lodgo did or could give a moro truly fraternal welcome to thoir Visitors than the Lodge he had the honour of presiding over . He had great pleasure in uniting the names of the Rev . Bro . Hyde , and Bros . Davies and Berry with the toast .

Tho toa = t was cordially drunk . Bro . Avis volunteered the next song . Bro . Hyde , on rising to respond for the Visitors , said : I thank the AVorshipfnl Master and brethren for tho kind reception given the Visitors this evening . It affords me great pleasure to be with you , and to witness the efficient working aud harmonious feeling existing in tho Lodge . I have boon particularly pleased with the truly

Masonic spirit evinced in the Lodge to-night towards the candidate for initiation . I may say with reference to Mr . Deano that I have known him and his family for a considerable time , and think him in every way deserving of that great mark of respect and confidence which you havo shown him in unanimously electing him to become a member of our Order . Happily , Freemasonry does not look upon

a graeions act , performed by a generous-hearted man ( as some wonld say indiscreetly generous ) , as sufficient reason for its censure or disapproval , morally speaking . It will doubtless be a great gratification to Mr . Deano to know that the vote of this Lodge has been so unanimous in his favour . AVith reference to the remarks of the Worshipful Master , I need not say there is any cause for an apology on account of a portion of the business of tho Lodge being submitted for the

members only , and I cannot refrain from expressing my sincere congratulations to the Pembroke Loclgo in having for its Master a Mason whom I have known in the Craffc and otherwise for years , and a Brother whom I greatly respect . Bros . Davies and Berry followed , and returned thanks . A few more songs and a , pleasant social chat , previous to the Tyler ' s toast being given , concluded the programme , and the brethren dispersed .

It will doubtless be a great gratification to Mr . Deano to know that the vote of this Lodge has been so unanimous in his favour . AVith reference to the remarks of the Worshipful Master , I need not say there is any cause for an apology on account of a portion of the business of tho Lodge being submitted for the

members only , and I cannot refrain from expressing my sincere congratulations to the Pembroke Loclgo in having for its Master a Mason whom I have known in the Craffc and otherwise for years , and a Brother whom I greatly respect . The next business was the installing of Bro . Bradshaw AV . M . elect , for which purpose he was formally introduced to the AV .
