NOTICES OF MEETINGS .

Evening Star Lodge , No . 1719 . —The regular meeting of this Lodge was held nt Freemasons' Hall , on Tuesday , tho 25 th inst ., when thero wero present numerous brethren and visitors . This Lodge is appropriately named , for only thoso gentlemen or brethren who are connected with gas engineering aro eligiblo to bo received into it as initiates or joining members . Thus it is a class Lodge , and

though it may seem at first sight contrary to the spirit of Freemasonry to restrict tho range of choice to only a single section of tho community , we aro pleased to note that , in its brief career , tho Evening Star has gone on most prosperously , and it is moro than probable that there are few Lodges in which the relations of the members towards each other are distinguished by snob marked cordiality ,

or whero it is no mere stereotyped expression to say whenever the Lodgo meets , that complete harmony prevails throughout tho proceedings . The mere fact of all tho brethren belonging to ifc following or being interested in , the same profession is tolerably certain to cause this happy consummation .
