Stevens then gave some explanation . ^ of certain passages in the ceremonial ritual of raising , which greatly interested the brethren , and added to their general information on the subject . The Lodge was closed down with due regularity , and tbe first and fourth sections of tho first degree were worked by

the brethren . Bro . F . Thurston was elected W . M . for the week ending Friday , 28 th April , and as according to tho Bye-Laws the fourth Friday is at tho disposal of the W . M ., announced that the business would be the rehearsal of the ceremonies in the first and third degrees , and tho delivery of the charge in the first degree by Bro . S . B . Sargeant , a newly . initiated member of the Order . Lodge was then closed , and the brethren separated after a most instructive evening .

Eoyal Union Lodge of Instruction , No . 382 . —On Monday , the 24 th inst ,, at the Chequers Hotel , Uxbridge . Bro . Cotton took the chair , and appointed the following Officers : —Bros . Brooks S . W ., Nicholson J . W ., Brown S . D ., Tapliu J . D ., Dnffin I . G . and Tyler ; there were also present Bros . Tucker Preceptor , and Phillips . After the usual preliminaries , Bro . Taplin was interrogated and entrusted . Lodge was opened in the second degree , and Bro . Taplin was passed

to the degree of Fellow Craft . The Lodge was resumed to the first degree , and the ceremony rehearsed , Bro . Tucker as candidate . Bro . Brooks will take the ohair at the next meeting . Bro . Tucker intimated that the Fifteen Sections would be worked on Thursday next , at the West Middlesex Lodge of Instruction , and asked for the attendance of the brethren ; he also promised to arrange for the working of the Sections in the Royal Union Lodge of Instruction . Lodge was then closed with the usual formalities .

on the minutes for the very able manner in which Bro . Moss had put the questions , and that he be eleoted au honorary member of the Lodge . This was carried unanimously . Bro . Barnes thanked the brethren who had worked the sections , and especially praised the younger members for the manner in which they had fulfilled their duties .

King ' s Cross Lodge of Instruction , No . 1732 . —Whioh has beeu held temporarily at the Adam ' s Arms , Hampstead-street , Fitzroy-square , during the rebuilding of Bro . Deviue ' s premises , will return to the old quarters , the Blue Post , Charlotte-street , Fitzroysquare , on the 1 st of May . A commodious room has been built by Bro . Deviue for the accommodation of the brethren .

St . Ambrose Lodge of Instruction , No . 1891 . —At the usual weekly meeting , held at the Baron ' s Court Hotel , West Kensington , on the 24 th April . Bro . Neilson W . M . of the Creaton Lodge , No . 1791 , presided , and rehearsed the ceremony of the third degree in his usual careful and correct manner . Bro . Morley was elected to

fill the office of W . M . at the next meeting ; this , we have no doubt , he will do efficiently , as although he is but a young Mason , he already evinces a thorough appreciation of our mysteries , and an earnest desire to prove himself a worthy Craftsman . Thi 3 Lodge of Instruction has Bro . H . E . Frances , a Past Grand Officer of Surrey , as its Preceptor , and , under hia able tuition , it is making steady progress .
