REPORTS OF MEETINGS .

We shall be pleased to receive particulars of Masonio meetings for insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative to report Lodge or other proceedings .

METROPOLITAN .

TRANQUILLITY LODGE , No . 185 . THB Lodge celebrated its 109 th birthday on Monday , 17 th inst ., when the members assembled in their new homo at the Frascati , Oxford Street , and had the privilege of taking part in a most imposing ceremony . Brother David Hills , of Beckenham , was installed Worshipful Master .

AVONDALE LODGE , No . 2395 . BRO . J . G . Albert P . M . was installed as W . M . on Wednesday evening , by Bro . Nicholson , and invested his Officers . Messrs . Bishop and Burdge were impressively initiated by the newlyinstalled Master . Afterwards the Brethren sat down to a sumptuous repast under the presidency of the W . M ., and a musical treat of very high order followed .

HYDE PARK LODGE , No . 1425 . THE regular weekly meeting was held at the Prince of Wales Hotel , Bishop's Road , Paddington , on Monday , Brothers A . Clark W . M . 1668 W . M ., G . Weaver S . W ., C . Riemann J . W ., H . Dehane P . M . 1543 P . P . G . S . D . Essex Secretary , T . M . Lamble S . D ., E . J . Potter J . D ., W . Smith I . G ., M . Isaacs , Thomas Barnett , H . Campbell , J . Wynman , B . D . Barnett P . M . 1668 , and others .

The Lodge was opened to the second degree , and Brother H . Campbell was examined and entrusted , the ceremony of raising being subsequently rehearsed . The working was done in an able and impressive manner by the W . M . Brother H . Debane P . M . was examined and entrusted , and the ceremony of passing rehearsed , with him as candidate .

A co-mm-umcation was received from the family of the late Brother Belsham , thanking the Brethren for their condolence . Brother Weaver S . W . was elected W . M . for next meeting .

EVENING STAR LODGE , No . 1719 . ON Saturday last , at the Rutland Hotel , Perry Hill , the ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , with Bro . C . Woods as W . M ., Best S . W ., and Roberts J . W . The ceremony of passing was rehearsed with Bro . Best W . M ., Coote S . W ., and Eoberts J . W . Bro . Thomas P . M . acted as Preceptor . Bro . Coote was elected W . M . for 7 th March . Thc ceremony of installation will be rehearsed on this Saturday .

BROMLEY ST . LEONARD LODGE , No . 1805 . AT the Bromley Vestry Hall , Bow Eoad , E ., on Wednesday , 26 th inst ., Bro . A . Marks W . M ., F . A . Slater S . W ., N . E . Moffatt J . W ., C . Holland S . D ., G . Fennell J . D ., Absolam I . G ., De Casseres P . M . Preceptor , F . Thornton Sec , Boyce P . M ., and Citron . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed by tho W . M ., Bro . Boyce P . M . candidate .

The Brethren assisted Bro . C . Holland to work the first , second and third sections of the lecture . It being the first time Bro . A . Marks had occupied the chair , a vote of thanks was accorded him for the able manner he performed the ceremony .

Bro . Richard Tool P . M . having that day suddenly lost his wife , a letter of condolence was sent him in the hour of his trouble . " Bro . F . A . Slater was elected to the chair for Wednesday next .

VIRTUE LODGE , No . 152 . THE annual meeting and Festival of St . John took place at the Freemasons' Hall , Manchester , on Friday , the 21 st inst ., the attendance of members and visitors numbering upwards of sixty , prominent among whom weie Brothers J . The principal business of the day was that of installing into tho chair of K . S . Bro . Edwin Froggatt S . W . Worshipful Master-elect . The ceremony was most ably performevl by Brother John Crompton the retiring W . M ., assisted by Past Masters of the Lodge .

It may be here mentioned that this is the centenary year of the Lodge , it having been consecrated in 1796 . Business over , the Brethren sat down to a sumptuous banquet , the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts being given and enthusiastically received . The musical programme was most efficiently rendered hy Bros . Nelson

Stokes 2156 2387 , Cuthbert Blacow 2156 , H . Daniels , and J . W . Maltby , the accompanist being Brother J . Herbert Yates . The rendering of the glee and part song were highly appreciated by the Brethren , the quartett " Robin Adair' * bringing to a close one of the most successful festivals held in connection with the Lodge .

LODGE OF BENEVOLENCE , No . 336 . THIS Lodge celebrated the Festival of St . John at the Jolly Sailor Inn , Marple , on Saturday , 22 nd inst . Bro . Henry Malan J . W . W . M .-elect was installed into the chair of K . S . by Bro . James Taylor , who was most ably assisted by the Past Masters of the Lodge .

Business being ended , the Brethren sat down to a splendid repast . After the usual Masonic toasts , & c , the Brethren were provided with a capital musical programme by Bros . Nelson Stokes and T . Haworth , assisted by several of the musical Brethren of the Lodge . " God save the Queen " brought to a close a most enjoyable evening .

SOUTHAMPTON LODGE , No . 394 . THE Brethren celebrated the festival of St . John on Thursday , 20 th inst ., when Bro . J . Hollis S . W . was installed as Worshipful Master by Bro . G . J . Tilling P . P . G . S . Wks . There was a large attendance of Brethren . Votes of thanks were accorded to the Installing Master and the I . P . M ., the compliment in the latter case including a Past Master's jewel . A voto of sympathy with Bro . Alfred Button in his terrible accident , and with the members of his family , was passed .

LODGE OF FAITH , No . 581 . THE regular meeting was held at the Gransmoor Hotel , Openshaw , on Wednesday , tbe 19 th inst ., Bro . Joseph Lever W . M . As there were three ceremonies due , the Lodge was opened shortly after 4 p . m ., and after the reading and confirmation of minutes , Bros . James Hutchison and William Nelson were passed to the degree of F . C , the former by the W . M ., and the latter by Bro . Harrison I . P . M . Bro . Whittaker P . M . subsequently raised Bro . Thomas E . Watson to the sublime degree of M . M ., the working tools being presented and explained by Bro . Adshead S . W .

Alter business the social element followed , the various Loyal and Masonic toasts being agreeably varied by songs , & c , rendered by Brothers Griffiths , Moorhouse , Boyd , Jones , and Eoberts .

HANDYSIDE LODGE , No . 1618 . ON Monday , 10 th inst ., at Saltburn , the annual festival was celebrated in the Masonic Hall , when Bro . J . W . Stainthorpe was installed W . M . for the ensuing year , by Bro . D . W . Dixon P . P . G . S . B . There were several visiting Brethren present from Redcar , Guisbrough , and Middlesborough .

URMSTON LODGE , No . 1730 . THB regular meeting was held at the Victoria Hotel , Urmston , on Monday , the 10 th inst ., Bro . Walter Bowers W . M . There was a very good attendance both of members and visitors , among whom we noticed the

following , viz .: —George G . Mends S . W ., J . Ormrod J . W ., Edward L . Littler P . M . P . P . G . P . Treas ., George R . Lloyd P . M . P . P . G . Treas . Sec , George A . Myers P . M . P . P . G . D . C D . C , J . Bowers P . M . Org ., John Walton jun . I . P . M ., John Slyman P . M . P . P . G . D ., R . Swindells P . M ., J . H . Marsh P . M ., Peter Heaton P . M . P . P . G . S ., E . W . Barratt , and others .

Visitors : —Bro . A . W . Stanley Org . 1774 , Thomas L . Browne 1730 , E . E . Levy 2231 , and Charles J . Vickers 2231 . Beyond-electing members on thc Benevolent Committee , and investing several Officers who , through illness or other causes , were not able to attend the installation ceremony , there was no particular business to engage the attention of members . Those invested were Bros . Hedley Jones J . D .. Arthur Hawkins I . G ., and W . Kirk Steward , the duty being undertaken by Brother Slyman P . M ., & c .

At the festive board which followed , Bro . Walton I . P . M . proposed the health of the W . M ., speaking in flattering terms of the manner in which he had always performed his work , drawing a pleasant augury from this fact that he would in the future acquit himself as satisfactorily . Bro . Bowers W . M ., in responding , thanked Bro . Walton for his eulogistic

remarks , promising that he would endeavour to give a good account of himself during his year of office . He sincerely hoped that the bond of unanimity now existing among them might spread , and many happy years be granted to all present . He then returned Bro . Walton ' s compliment by proposing the health of the I . P . M ., adding that with such an Officer on his left hand he would feel perfectly safe .

Bro . Walton , in response , spoke of the great help he had received from Bro . Myers and other Past Masters , which had invariably been given with unstinted generosity . Bro . Littler then proposed the health of the visitors , saying it was a very pleasing duty . Many of them he had known for years in various capacities , and on behalf of the Lodge he extended to them a hearty and hospitable welcome .

Other toasts followed , these being varied by songs , recitations , & c , rendered by Bros . J . H . Marsh P . M ., J . Bowers P . M ., Edward Roberts P . M . 1459 ( FREEMASON ' S CHBONICLE ) , H . Jones , E . E . Levy , and C J . Vickers .
