REPORTS OF MEETINGS .

We shall be pleased to receive particulars of Masonic meetings tor insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative , to report Lodge or other proceedings . We do not sanction anyone attending Lodge meetings as our representative without a specific invitation .

CRAFT : METROPOLITAN .

New Concord Lodge , No . 813 . THE first regular meeting of the winter season was held at the Cannon Street Hotel , on Thursday , 19 th inst . The Lodge was called for 5 o ' clock , and the motto of Bro . John Howard AV . M . being " punctuality" business was commenced at the appointed hour . The AV . M . was supported by Bros . J . Keiscr S . AV ., Robert

The visitors included Bros . AV . E . Jearnes S . W . 548 , C . G . Zanders W . M . 201 , J . Humphrey , J . A \ ynman . The Lodge being formed the minutes of the last regular and of an emergency meeting were read and confirmed . The Lodge was advanced to the second degree , and Bros . Cautley . Rogers and Schroder were examined and entrusted . Bro . G . Bennett ,

who was also down on the agenda for raising , was unavoidably prevented from being present at the appointed time . To economise time the Lodge was resumed to the first degree , and Bros . Dogliani and AVilliams having answered their questions in a faultless manner were entrusted . The Lodge was resumed to the second degree , and those Brethren were passed as Fellow Crafts .

The Lodge was advanced to the third degree , and Bros . Cautley , Rogers and Schroder were raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason . The Lodge was again resumed to the first degree , and the ballot was taken for Mr . Harold Thomas French , and proved unanimous in his favour . He had the privilege of being initiated into the mysteries of Ancient Freemasonry .

The Brethren evidently intend to keep the ball rolling by giving the W . M . plenty of work during his year of Office , as was evidenced by the fact that two gentlemen were proposed for initiation .

Bro . Howard ' s faultless and impressive working being so well known and referred to on several occasions in this paper we need only say that at this meeting he gave ample evidence in support of his reputation . After other Masonic transactions the Lodge was closed , the

AA . M . receiving well earned hearty good wishes from those present . The work being ended the Brethren retired to partake of an excellent dinner , served under the superintendence of Bro . J . Lees , who , with Bro . James Reilly , looked after the comfort of the guests . The usual toast list was honoured .

The Initiate , Bro . Harold Thomas French , responded to the toast of his health in neat and modest terms . The toast of the visitors was responded to by Bro . W . E . Jearnes S . W . CJ 8 and others .

********** Chaucer Lodge , No . 1540 . ON Tuesday , 24 th inst ., the members of this Lodge met for the first time since March , at the St . James ' s Restaurant . The principal business was the election of a AV . M . and other Officers for the ensuing twelve months .

There was a goodly gathering , including the following Officers and Past Masters : Bros . AV . Miles AV . M ., A . Barclay S . AV ., A . F . Sarjeant J . AV .. L . Weil P . M . Secretary , S . Russell S . D ., K . H . Parry J . D ., W . Cooper I . G .. and G . W . Cooper Organist , T . H . Brooke Hitching P . M ., V . Calm P . M ., J . Polak P . M ., and J . Genese I . P . M .

The ballot proved unanimous in favour of Bro . Alfred Barclay S . AV . as Master-elect , and the AA ^ . M . congratulated him on the result . Bro . A . J . Bailey was re-elected Treasurer of the Lodge , and Bro . Young as Tyler . The usual dinner followed , after which the Loyal and other toasts were duly honoured .

Bro . G . AV . Cooper Organist presided at the piano , and with the assistance of Bros . Henry Simon , and several other Brethren gave the members an excellent musical entertainment .

All Saints Lodge , No . 1716 . AT a regular meeting of this Lodge , held at the offices of the Poplar Borough Council , on Tuesday , 17 th inst ., Bro . J . G . Mosey was in his place as AA . M ., with Bro . W . S . Duff S . AV ., and Bro Madelev J . W . '

The Lodge was opened in the first degree , and Bro . Albert Thomas was examined and entrusted . He was afterwards passed . Bro . J . Fox was next examined and entrusted , and then raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason . Bro . AVilliam Stephen Duff S . AV . was unanimousl y elected

AVorshipful Master , Bro . Potts P . M . Treasurer of the Lodge , and Bro . C . Patrick P . M .. Tyler for the ensuing year . It was unanimously agreed to vote the AV . M . Bro . J . Y . Mosey a Past Master ' s collar " and badge and also a Past Master ' s jewel , as a recognition of the able manner in which he had filled the chair during his term of Office .

Hearty congratulations were passed to Bro . C . R . Allen P . M ., who is also AV . M . of the Seven Kings Lodge , upon his being appointed Grand Sword Bearer in the Province of Essex . The Audit Committee was elected , consisting of Bros . Turner , Jungblut , and Batty . The Lodge was closed in due form and adjourned until Tuesday , 15 th October , when the Installation of Bro . Duff will take place at the Holborn Restaurant , the out-going Master Bro . J . Y . Mosey being the Installing Officer .

At the banquet which followed , the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured , and a capital musical entertainment was provided by Bro . Butler Heap , R . A . M ., Folkes , Burchell , Pyle , Wicks , and Anderson .

********** Shepherds Bush Lodge , No . 1828 . THE first regular meeting of this young but well known Lodge for the present season took place this week , at the Frascati Restaurant , Oxford Street , and was presided over by Bro . George Knight AV . M ., who was assisted bv Bros . H . Haws S . AA ., Isaac

The minutes of last meeting having been confirmed the Lodge

was advanced to the second degree , when Bro . M . M . Levy was examined jand having answered the questions to the satisfaction of the AV . M . was entrusted . The Lodge was opened in the third degree , and in due course that Brother had the pleasure of being raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason . The excellent working of the AV . M . was highly appreciated .

The Lodge was resumed to the first degree , and after a few communications was closed with solemn prayer . The Brethren afterwards retired to the banqueting room , and there partook of an excellent dinner . Afterwards the AV . M . gave the toasts , that of the visitors being replied to by Bros . Chapman and Lotheim . The Tyler ' s toast brought a very pleasant evening to termination .

INSTALLATION OF BRO . J . A . ELLERTON P . M The installation meeting was held at the Holborn Restaurant , on the 10 th inst ., Bro . Feistel in the chair . After the ordinary business of the Lodge was finished Bro . Feistel proceeded with the ceremony of installation , and the excellent manner in which he delivered the ritual was a delight to all present . The new W . M . invested his Officers , and the ease with which he did so showed he was an adept at it .

The following were appointed the Assistant Officers for the year : Bros . H . Chappel S . AV ., J . Gooclfellow J . AA " ., R . Stuart Murray Treas ., John Sulley P . M . Sec , Chas . Franklin S . D ., R . M . F . Robertson J . D .. E . A . Cross I . G ., E . E . Bland Orgt ., A . Marnoch Whitby P . M . D . C , R . A . Jack and J . AV . Brown Stwds ., S . Ellis Tyler .

At the banquet table the various Masonic toasts were given , and the readiness of speech on the part of the AA ' . M ., in proposing them , made it very pleasant for the Brethren . In proposing the health of the King , the AV . M . was sure all Masons sympathised with His Majesty in his recent bereavement . The toast of the Grand Officers was responded to by Bro . Tijou P . M . P . G . Std . Br . Eng . and Bro . Garrod P . M . P . G . P . Eng .

The gavel was then taken in hand by the I . P . M . Bro . Feistel , who in a short and eloquent speech wished the AV . M . a prosperous year of Office , and assured him that the Past Masters would , if the necessity arose , assist him to the best of their abilities .

The W . M . is undoubtedly popular in the Lodge , as the reception he received on rising to respond was most cordial . He assured the Brethren he would do all he could to keep the Lodge in its present state of efficiency , and also desired to thank Bro . Feistel for the brilliant manner in which he had installed him into

the chair , and for the many kind things he had said about him . The AA . M . then proposed the toast of the Installing Master . He said Bro . Feistel's work during the past year had been done in a most praiseworthy manner , and had given the fullest satisfaction

to all the members of the Lodge . The rendering of the addresses that evening was sure to make . a long impression on all their minds . He also had the great pleasure , in the name of the Lodge , of presenting him with a Past Master ' s jewel , as a token of the high esteem and regard in which he was held by the Brethren .

Bro . Feistel replied . He assured the Brethren that anything he could do for the Lodge he would undertake with pleasure . He thanked them most sincerely for the beautiful jewel they had given him ; he should always look back upon his year of Office with great delight . The toast of the Visitors was next proposed . The AV . M . was pleased to see so many guests present , and hoped the evening had been an enjoyable one . Bro . Gush P . M . responded , and congratulated the Lodge on

the good work he had seen . It was also gratifying to him to hear Bro . Feistel instal his successor , as he was a regular attendant at the Lodge of Instruction of which he was Preceptor . He wished the AA . M . a good year of Office , and on behalf of the visitors he begged to thank all who had contributed to so enjoyable an evening . Bro , D , Jackson P . M . was next called upon . He said with
