HOLIDAY TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS .

GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY . rilHE Great Western Railway Company issuo ordinary as well as I excursion tickets , at their principal City and West-end Offices , and this arrangement is probably never so much appreciated as during the week preceding the Bank Holiday , when large numbers of people avail themselves of the opportunity thus afforded for obtaining tickets at their own time and without tho crowding and worry inseparable from a large railway station at holiday seasons .

The lares charged are the same as at Paddington and the tickets are available for use under precisely the same conditions as those issued at that station . The following are the offices at which tickets arc issued , viz . —193 and 407 Oxford Street , 23 New Oxford Street , 269 Strand , Holborn Circus , 29 Charing Cross .

Cambridge Circus , Shaftesbury Avenue , The Piazza , Covent Garden , 26 Regent Street , 5 Arthur Street East , London Bridge , 82 Queen Victoria Street , 181 Tottenham Court Road , 67 Gresham Street , 4 Cheapside , 17 Bronipton Road , Minories ( opposite Goodman ' s Yard ) , The Nags Head , High Street , Borough , and the L . B . & S . C . Company ' s Office , under the Grand Hotel , Trafalgar Square .

The booking offices at Paddington station will be open for the issue of tickets all day on Wednesday , Thursday , Friday and Saturday , 1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd and 4 th August , and the tickets issued ( except those for specified excursion trains ) will be available for use on any cf those days .

To meet the expected additional traffic by the ordinary trains on Saturday , 4 th August , the Company will run in duplicate , the 3 ' 0 5 * 0 and 9-0 p . m . trains to the West of England , tho 12-0 noon , 3 * 15 and 9 15 p . m , trains to Weymouth , and South Wales . The first portion of the 5 ' 0 and 9-0 p . m . trains will leave Paddington at 4-55 and 8 . 55 p . m . respectively , but tho first portions of the other trains will leave at the advertised times , and the second a few minutes

afterwards , the long distance passengers being , as far as possible , taken in the first portion , but with a few exceptions both trains will stop at the advertised stations to take up and set down passengers . On Friday , 3 rd August , an excursion train will leave Paddington at 7-55 a . m . for Gloucester , Cardiff , Newport , Swansea , New Milford , etc . ; passengers will also be booked at excursion fares to certain stations in the South of Ireland . Fast excursion trains for the

West of England will leave Paddington at 10 * 10 p . m . on Friday , 3 rd August , and at 7 " 55 a . m . and 1-55 p . m . on Saturday , August 4 th , reaching Exeter in 5 £ hours and Plymouth in 7 | hours . Excursions will also be run on Saturday to Bath , Bristol , Dorchester , Weymouth , the Channel Islands , Cheltenham , Worcester , Malvern , Hereford , Birmingham , Wolverhampton , Shrewsbury , Bamiouth , Aberystwyth , Llandudno , Chester , Liverpool , Manchester , and other stations on the Great Western System .

Passengers are also booked every Saturday to Guernsey and Jersey , via Weymouth and the short sea passage to the Islands by tho mail train leaving Paddington at 9 ' 15 p . m . Third Class return tickets available for 8 , 10 , 15 or 17 days will be issued at a Fare of 24 / 6 .

An Excursion Train leaves Paddington at 8 ' 10 a . m . every Saturday during July , August and September , for Shrewsbury , Llanidloes , Aberystwyth , Barmouth , Harlech , Rhyl , Colwyn Bay , Llandudno , Bettws-y-coed , Bangor , Carnarvon and other stations in North Wales , for 3 , 10 or 17 days .

On Sunday , 5 th August , excursions will be run to Cirencester , Stroud , Gloucester , Cheltenham , etc ., and at 12 ' 15 midnight an excursion for 1 or 4 days will leave Paddington for Oxford , Leamington , Biimingham , Wolverhampton , etc . On Monday , cheap trains will be run to Bath , Bristol , Stroud , Gloucester , Cheltenham , Reading , Pangbourne , Goring , Wallingford , etc .

Cheap Third Class Excursion tickets are issued daily by specified trains from Paddington , Kensington ( Addison Road ) , Hammersmith , and certain stations on the Metropolitan , Metropolitan District and North London Railways , to Staines , Windsor , Taplow , Maidenhead , Henley and other popular riverside resorts . o o o

LONDON AND NORTH WESTERN RAILWAY . rpHE London and North Western Company announce that the I Ticket Offices at Euston , Broad Street , Kensington and Willesden Junction will be open throughout the day , from Monday , 30 th July , to Monday , 6 th August inclusive , so that passengers wishing to obtain Tickets for any destination on the line can do so at any time of the day prior to the starting of the Trains .

Tickets , dated to suit the convenience ol Passengers , can be obtained at any time ( Sundays and Bank Holidays excepted ) at the Town Receiving Offices of the Company , which are to be found in all parts of the metropolis .

The Company also announce that on Thursday , 2 nd August , and Friday , 3 rd August , Special Trains will leave Euston at 6-25 p . m . for Holvhead and Ireland . On Friday , 3 rd August , the 2-0 p m . Train from London ( Euston ) will convey Passengers to Carlisle and Scotland only .

The 12-0 Midnight Train from Euston will be run via Bhsworth . A Train in connection will leave Northampton at 1-34 a . m . on Saturday morning , 4 th August , and return from Blisworth at 1-53 a . m ., arriving at Northampton 2-3 a . m . On Saturday , 4 th August , the 2-0 p . m . Train from London ( Euston ) will convey Passergers to Carlisle and Scotland only . A bpecial Train will leave Willesden Junction at 2-57 p . m . for

Blisworth , Weedon , Rugby , Trent Valley Stations and Stafford . Special Trains will leave Euston at 4-25 p . m . for Coventry and Birmingham , arriving at 6-21 p . m . and 6 ' 50 respectively . The 7 * 0 p . m . Express from Birmingham to London will travel via Northampton , thus affording an additional Service from Birmingham to Northampton , and Northampton to London . On Bank Holiday , Monday , 6 th August , the following Trains will nut be run : the 3 - 0 p . m . Euston to Bletchley . The . 12-0 noon

an ndditional service from Birmingham to . Northampton ami Northampton to London . Many of the Residental Trains run iu the Suburbs of London , Birmingham , Liverpool , and Manchester , will not be run on Bank Holiday , Monday , 6 th August , particular of which will bo advertised locally . The Dining Cars between London and Liverpool will not be run on the Bank Holiday , but those between London and Manchester and the Corridor Dining Car Train will run as usual .

Cheap Excursions will bo run by this Company from London to Birmingham , Coventry , Leamington , Kenilworth , Dudley , Walsall , Wednesbury , Wolverhampton , Leicester , Liverpool , Manchester , Huddersfield , Bradford , Shrewsbury , Hereford , Aberystwyth , Borth , Abergavenny , South and Central Wales , Chester , North Wales , Bolton , Blackburn , Southport , Morecambe , Blackpool , Carlisle , the English Lake District , Scotland , and to various other places on the Company ' s system .

Similar trains will be run from many of the districts named to London , including bookings to Brighton , Hastings , St . Leonard's , Portsmouth , Southampton , etc ., and also to Paris and the Continent . Bills and full particulars can be obtained on application at the railway stations and at the Company ' s offices . o o o

LONDON , CHATHAM AND DOVER , RAILWAY . THE London , Chatham , and Dover Railway Company announce a novel feature for a full day's excursion to Calais on August Bank Holiday . Passengers will be conveyed at a return fare of 10 s 0 d by Express train from Victoria or Holborn Stations to Dover , and thence by the Company ' s large mail steamer , " Invicta , " to Calais . Free conveyance will be provided from Calais Pier to the

new Casino which has recently been completed , and an additional attraction is offered in the shape of a free admission to the Sea Baths . For the return journey passengers have the choice of two Express servies to London , the sea passage being performed in each case by large vessels .

Other cheap day trips are announced by this Company's line to Margate , Broadstairs , Ramsgate , Canterbury , Dover , Deal , etc ., and for attractions nearer London there will be an ample train service from Victoria , Holborn , and Ludgate Hill to Greenwich , Blackheath , Bromley ( for Hayes Common ) , and to the High Level Station , Crystal Palace .

Special cheap Continental trips are advertised for passengers to Paris , and Brussels and Antwerp , via Dover and Calais and tho Company ' s large boats , " Calais-Douvres " or " Victoria , " will cross in the night services on Friday , Saturday , and Monday , returning on Tuesday morning . Cheap bookings are likewise announced to

Brussels and Antwerp , via Ostend , and to towns in Holland and to Antwerp , via Queenboro' and Flushing . A special trip to Antwerp , enabling passengers to spend one day there to visit the Exhibition , will leave Victoria and Holborn on Saturday night previous to Bank Holiday , passengers travelling via Dover and Ostend .

The period of validity of Cheap Fast and Friday or Saturday to Monday tickets to the Seaside will be extended up to Friday , August 10 th . o o o

MIDLAND RAILWAY . 1710 R the convenience of the public the Midland Railway Com-J pany have arranged that the Booking Offices at St . Pancras and Moorgate Street Stations shall be open for the issue of Tickets all day on Friday and Saturday , 3 rd and 4 th August . Tickets to all principal Stations on the Midland Railway will also be obtainable beforehand at their City and Suburban offices , and the offices

of Messrs . Thos . Cook and Son , a full list of which will be found in the Midland Time Tables and other announcements . The Tickets obtained at these offices will be available from St . Pancras Station , and will be issued at the same fares as charged at that Station , and dated to suit the convenience of Passengers .

Cheap Excursions will run to all parts from London to Leicester , Nottingham , Melton , Birmingham , Walsall , Wolverhampton , Burton , Derby , Manchester , Liverpool , Blackburn , Bolton , Rochdale , Oldham , Bury , the Furness District , Sheffield , Leeds , Bradford , Barnsley , Keighley , York , Hull , Scarboro ' , Darlington , Durham , Newcastle , Carlisle , & c , & c , on Saturday , 4 th August ,

returning the following Thursday ; and to Edinburgh and Glasgow , returning the following Saturday ; and Tickets for these Trains for starting from St . Pancras Station can be obtained on the two days previous to the running of the Trains at the above named offices . Cheap Excursion Trains for six days will also be run to London from Carlisle , Keighley , Bradford , Leeds , Bamsley , Sheffield ,

Liverpool , Manchester , Blackburn , Bolton , Burnley , Bury , Rochdale , Burton , Derby , Nottingham , Birmingham , Walsall , Wolverhampton , Leicester , & c , on Saturday , 4 th August . Passengers will be booked by these Trains at cheap fares to Brighton and other South Coast Stations for 5 , 8 , 10 , or 15 days , to Paris and

other places on the Continent , having the privilege of returning within sixteen days . On Monday , 6 th August , Cheap Day Trips will also be run from Derby , Nottingham , Leicester , Birmingham , Northampton , Bedford , & c , to Loudon ; and from London ( St . Pancras ) to St . Albans , Harpenden , Luton , Bedford , Leicester and Birmingham , and a Two Days' Excursion to Manchester .

Cheap daily and week-end Excursions are run from St . Pancras and other Midland Stations to Southend-on-Sea , by the new and shorter route , via the Tottenham and Forest Gate Line .

Pancras Station can be obtained on the two days previous to the running of the Trains at the above named offices . Cheap Excursion Trains for six days will also be run to London from Carlisle , Keighley , Bradford , Leeds , Bamsley , Sheffield ,

Liverpool , Manchester , Blackburn , Bolton , Burnley , Bury , Rochdale , Burton , Derby , Nottingham , Birmingham , Walsall , Wolverhampton , Leicester , & c , on Saturday , 4 th August . Passengers will be booked by these Trains at cheap fares to Brighton and other South Coast Stations for 5 , 8 , 10 , or 15 days , to Paris and

other places on the Continent , having the privilege of returning within sixteen days . On Monday , 6 th August , Cheap Day Trips will also be run from Derby , Nottingham , Leicester , Birmingham , Northampton , Bedford , & c , to Loudon ; and from London ( St . Pancras ) to St . Albans , Harpenden , Luton , Bedford , Leicester and Birmingham , and a Two Days' Excursion to Manchester .

Cheap daily and week-end Excursions are run from St . Pancras and other Midland Stations to Southend-on-Sea , by the new and shorter route , via the Tottenham and Forest Gate Line .
