The Senior Warden replied , tendering thanks on behalf of all the Officers , and assuring the Worshipful Master they would all render the services required of them to the best of their ability , and , they trusted , to the satisfaction of the Brethren . The Tyler ' s toast was given and concluded the proceedings .
There was an excellent programme of music interpolated between the toasts , those who contributed to the harmony being Bros . James Brand , George Neville , and George Thatcher .
* All Saints Lodge , No . 1716 . INSTALLATION OF BROTHER JAMES YEOMAN MOSEY . rpHE twenty-third anniversary of this flourishing Lodge was held JL on Thursday of last week by special dispensation of the
Grand Master , at the fine Masonic Temple at the Holborn Restaurant , when the greater part of its 13 8 members , together with numerous visitors assembled to witness the interesting proceedings . The summons was for three o'clock , and soon after that time Bro . Frank Whitlock W . M . opened the Lodge , and proceeded to business .
After the confirmation of the minutes , thereby approving the election of the new Master , the Lodge was opened in the second degree , when Bro . C . J . Marsh proved his proficiency as a Craftsman . He was subsequently raised as a Master Mason , was invested , and took his seat in that capacity . The Lodge being resumed to
the second degree Bro . Whitlock declared all Offices vacant , and requested Bros . B . A . Moore P . M ., Snowden Kirk P . M ., James Boyce P . M . ( the able Preceptor of the All Saints Lodge of Instruction ) , and William Bland P . M . to assist him in the installation ceremony .
Bro . James Yeoman Mosey , the W . M .-elect , was duly presented and took the usual obligation as a Ruler in the Craft . The lay 'Brethren then retired , and a Board of Installed Masters was convened , when Bro . Mosey was regularly installed as Master of the Lodge , in accordance with ancient tradition . The ceremony was very ably rendered by Bro . Whitlock , who also subsequently delivered the beautiful . Addresses in such a manner as to secure
the appreciation of those present . The Brethren being re-admitted , the new Master was proclaimed and saluted , after which Bro . Mosey appointed and invested the following Officers for the year : William S . Duff S . W ., William
Madeley J . W ., Leonard Potts P . M . Treasurer , Frederick Butler Secretary , Rev . M . Roberts Chaplain , W . Verney Palmer S . D ., J . Hannaford J . D ., G . W . Deer I . G ., E . Clements D . To each of the new Officers Bro . Mosey addressed a few words of excellent advice upon their respective i duties , and altogether conveyed the impression that , he was . fully qualified to fill-the important position to which the Lodge had called him . Bro . Potts proposed , and Bro . Kirk seconded , that a vote of thanks should be accorded to Bro . Whitlock , for the admirable
manner in which he had carried out the ceremonies that evening , thereby upholding the regulations of Freemasonry and the traditions of the All Saints Lodge . Needless to say this was carried unanimously , and in conveying the proposition to Bro . Whitlock , the Master presented his predecessor with the collar and jewel of a Past Master that had been subscribed by the Lodge , as a mark of
the esteem and regard in which he was held by the Brethren . Bro . Whitlock , in responding to the compliment , said he should not have considered he had done his duty had he not performed the ceremony of installing his successor . It was ten years ago that evening since he was initiated , and he had never missed a meeting of the Lodge . He felt that he had earned the honour conferred
upon lum by the Brethren , and should always wear it in the Lodge and think of their kindness to him . A further vote of thanks was passed to Bros . Boyce and Bland for their services , which was suitably acknowledged . The resignation of two members was accepted with regret , but their loss will be probably filled at the next meeting , by the initiation of two candidates .
The sum of two guineas was proposed to be given to the " Daily Telegraph " War Fund , but the generosity of the Brethren extended this to five , and afterwards to seven guineas . There being no further business the Visitors conveyed their congratulations to the Master , the closing Hymn was sung , and the Lodge was terminated in the usual manner .
The Installation Banquet was served in the Royal Venetian Chamber" ( somewhat of a misnomer seeing that Venice was a Republic ) , when the hospitality of the Lodge was extended to over a hundred and fifty guests . The very recherche dinner was greatly enjoyed , and upon its termination Brother Mosey submitted the customary Loyal and Masonic toasts .
Bro . C . J . R . Tijou responded for the Officers of Grand Lodge , and expressed the pleasure it had been to him to see Bro . Whitlock instal his successor . It showed that every Mason could do the work if he only put his mind to it , and he trusted it would always be done in the All Saints Lodge , in which he took so great an interest .
In glowing terms the I . P . M . proposed the health of the Worshipful . Master , and bore testimony to the splendid services he had rendered to the Lodge , especially during the years he had been their Secretary . He was sure that in his present position Bro . Mosey would give equal satisfaction .
Bro . Mosey , who was received with great applause when rising to respond , expressed his gratitude to the Brethren for electing him to the Chair , which was the height of his Masonic ambition . He could assure them that no effort on his " part would be wanting to carry out his duties in a becoming manner ; at the same time he might have to ask their indulgence occasionall y , as being

In proposing the Installing Master , Bro . Mosey paid a well deserved tribute to Bro . Whitlock for the able manner in which he had carried out his duties . He had been a most successful Master , and the members of the Lodge desiring that their thanks should
assume a material form , he had now the pleasure to present to him the handsome jewel that had been voted him as a mark of thei good will and esteem of the Brethren . They all wished him good luck , long life , and prosperity , and hoped he would be with them for many years to come . ¦ ,..,. kind
Bro . Whitlock returned his sincere thanks for all their - ness to him ; he had endeavoured to do his duty to the utmost of his ability , and was pleased to think he had met with approbation . Bro . Mosey then made an urgent appeal on behalf , of the Masonic Charities , and stated he should go up as a Steward at the next Festival of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution , and was pleased to announce that he had already some fifty guineas nrnmiiftd for his list of subscriotions ,
Bro . J . M . McLeod Secretary to the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys acknowledged the toast . The Masonic Charities were all equal in the Craft , and he certainly would not grudge the W . M . acting as Steward for the Old People , " because he was sure the success that would attend his . efforts on . that occasion would induce him to act again for the other Institutions . It was a noble work
to assist old Masons who had fallen into misfortune , and provide them with comforts in their necessity—there were also the widows left helpless who were succoured and taken care of . Happily the Craft likewise recognised the position of the young , often left fatherless or motherless , and at the present time there were 260 girls and 290 boys receiving a good education to prepare them for the battle of life . He would remind them rhat the Festivals
were their principal support , and he was glad to state that Bro . J . Godding had intimated his intention of being a Steward on 25 th June next year when their respected and highly esteemed Bro . W . W . B . Beach would preside over the Festival in support of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys . He trusted a friendly rivalry would ensue between all the Stewards , so that the grand cause of Charity would benefit by their exertions .
Bro . McLeod ' s speech was greeted with great enthusiasm , and Bro . W . P . Bullivant promised ten guineas to each of the Stewards above mentioned , and a similar sum to any Brother going up for the Girls School .
Bros . Etchel , Thornton , Clarkson , Cahill , and other Visitors responded for the guests of the Lodge , and the other customary complimentary speeches were made . The Visitors included Bros . C . * » Lodge of Perseverance , No . 1743 . INSTALLATION OF BROTHER RICHARD PERRY . THE installation meeting was held on Saturday , 13 th inst ., at Anderton ' s Hotel , under the Mastership of Brother W . B . Cossham .
The work of the Lodge consisted of the passing of Bro . Alfred Sachs , and the adoption of the Auditors' report , which was very favourable . Bro . H . C . Lonsdale P . M . then took the Worshipful Master's chair , and had Bro . Richard Perrv S . W . presented to him by Bro . Thomas Lovell P . M . Treasurer , who acted as Director of
Ceremonies . Bro . Lonsdale -ably performed the ceremony , and Bro . Perry was duly installed .- ' ' Before the Lodge was closed , Bro . Louis A . Leins P . M . thanked the Brethren for the handsome presentation made to him and Mrs . Leins last April , when the Brethren elected him an honorary member of the Lodge .
On the motion of Past Master Lovell Treasurer , seconded by Past Master Ferry , it was resolved that a letter of condolence should be written to the widow of Immediate Past Master Park , who recently passed away after a long and painful illness . The Brethren also agreed that if one of the orphans was a candidate for the schools the Lodge and the Brethren would vigourously support the application .
The new Worshipful Master informed the Brethren that he was going to represent the Lodge as its Steward at the forthcoming Festival of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution in February 1901 . It was then proposed by the I . P . M . that the Lodge should vote five guineas to the Steward ' s list , but this proposition it was agreed to hold over until the November or January meeting , as perhaps a sum of ten guineas might be spared . The Worshipful Master hoped that the Brethren would support his list individually .
