Affer the work of the- Lodge the Brethren adjourned to a banquet ; The usual toasts were proposed by the Worshipful Master , and a charming programme of music was- performed-. The W . A communication was read from Bro . W . J . W . Ferguson , of Durban , thanking the Brethren for their condolence , on the death of his father , the late Bro . Ferguson P . M . 177 .

Reference was also made to the painfully sudden death of Bro . Rogers P . M . 733 , upon which Bro . Read proposed that a letter of sincere condolence be sent to his widow , which was unanimously and sympathetically agreed to .

A vote of thanks was passed to the acting W . M ., congratulating him on his rendering of the first and third ceremonies .

Woodrow Lodge , No . 17 OS . W ORK at this Lodge has been resumed for the winter , indeed , good meetings have been held since the first Monday in the month . There was a good attendance at this week ' s

gathering , held at 3 o ' clock on Monday , at Bro . Rudderforth ' s ( Stone's ) Restaurant , 24 Panton Street , Haymarket , those present including Bros . T . G . Lobb W . M ., T . Burgess S . W . Percy Gayer J . W ., C . Woodrow P . M . Prec , W . H . G . Rudderforth P . M

The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Brother Napoli candidate . The . W ; M . vacated the chair in favour of . Brother Strutt , who went through , the installation ceremony , Bro . Dr . Allen being presented as W . M .-elect by Bro . Edgley , who acted as . D .-G . The new W . M . was proclaimed and saluted , and invested the Officers .

Bro . Faull was elected to preside on Wednesday week , the next meeting it being the Preceptor ' s privilege to preside . The annual dinner of the Lodge will take place on Wednesday , 14 th prox ., at 2 . 30 p . m ., tickets 3 s 6 d each ; it is intended to entertain ladies on the occasion .

Concord Lodge , No ., 343 . THE meeting on Thursday , 18 th inst ., at Preston resulted in what is believed to be an unique gathering in the Masonic annals of West Lancashire-. The exceptional interest arose from the" fact that three sons of a Past Master of the Lodge Bro . W . H . Stevenson were all being initiated by the W . M . Bro . George Margerison .

Messrs . John Stevenson , William Garnett Stevenson , and Richard Henry Stevenson having been duly admitted to the Craft , the ancient charge to Entered Apprentices was delivered by Bro . J . Thompson P . P . G . R .

Subsequently , on his motion , seconded by Bro . A . B ' eattie P . P . G . S . B ; , a vote of sympathy was unanimously tendered to Bro . Richard Robinson P . M . ( for many years Secretary of the Lodge ) , on the destruction of ihis house by fire on the previous Lodge night .

In reply , Bro . Robinson said he little knew the sad experience which awaited him when he left the preceding Lodge . He did not arrive home in time to rescue any of * his household treasures from the flames , but fortunately he was instrumental in saving life .

ine . Lodge having been closed , the new Initiates and their father received hearty congratulations from the members of the Lodge and the Visiting Brethren , several of whom had travelled considerable distances in order to witness the triple admission .

Star in the East Lodge , No . 650 . INSTALLATION OF BROTHER A . R . PEAKE . ON Tuesday , 9 th inst ., the annual meeting took place in the . handsome Dining Hall adjoining the Great Eastern Hotel , Harwich , when Bro . C . J . H . Ward P . M . installed BJro . A . R . Peake .

At the termination of the Lodge work the annual banquet took place in the spacious Coffee Room of the Hotel , and during the evening the new Master presented , on behalf of the Lodge , a P . M , jewel to his predecessor , Bro . S . K . Groom .
