LANCASHIRE CHARITY .

/ " 11 HE annual meeting of the Court of Governors of the JL West Lancashire Hamer Benevolent Institution was held at the Masonic Hall , Hope Street , Liverpool , on Friday evening , 19 th inst , the chair being occupied by Brother G . Morgan P ; P . G . D .

Bro . J . R . Bottomley P . P . G . D . C . Hon . Secretary read the minutes of the previous Court , and also those of the General Committee .

An annuity was granted to a distressed Brother , and the Treasurer was empowered to invest the sum of ; £ 1 , 000 with the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board , for fourteen years at $ } 4 per cent . Ten life subscribers were appointed on the General

Committee , the only change being the election of Brother D . M'Farlane in place of Bro . R . Tunnicliffe , who had resigned . The three Auditors , the Medical Officers , Solicitor , Treasurer , and Secretary were re-appointed , and the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Bro . Morgan for presiding .

DURHAM .

IT is expected the installation of the Right Hon . Lord Barnard , of Raby Castle , Past Grand Warden of England Past Senior Grand Warden of Durham , as Provincial Grand Master of Durham , in succession to the late Sir Hedworth

Williamson , Bart ., will take place at Durham about the middle of April next . The ceremony will in all probability be performed by the Earl of W arwick Deputy Grand Master of England .

Leicestershire And Rutland.

LEICESTERSHIRE AND RUTLAND .

THE annual Provincial Grand Lodge will be held on Wednesday next ; 31 st inst ., at Freemasons' Hall , Leicester , commencing at 3 . 30 p . m . precisely . The usual business is on the agenda , and will be followed by a banquet at 5 p . m ., tickets for which , including dessert , are 6 s each .

A MEETING of the Provincial Grand Chapter was held at Runcorn on Saturday , 20 th inst ., under the banner 01 uie Bridgwater Chapter , No . 7 5 8 . The Provincial Grand Superintendent the tlon . Alan de Tatton Egerton , M . P ., and other Officers opened the Chapter

m one of the rooms of the Parish Church Schools , lent by the Rev . Canon Maitiand Wood and the managers . Companions were present from Birkenhead , Chester , Altrincham , Hyde , Stockport , Crewe , Knutsford , and Runcorn , the attendance being exceptionally good .

The Provincial Grand Superintendent , in his address , alluded with gratification to the progress of Royal Arch Masonry in Cheshire , and afterwards appointed his Officers . The Provincial Grand Chapter voted sums of money to each of the Provincial Charity institutions .

Sowby , of the John o'Gaunt ; also to the loss sustained by the Mark and Craft Lodge through the death of Bro . Sowby , who was to have accepted the Office of Senior Warden for the ensuing year . Grants were made to the widows of some deceased Brethren , and a banquet was afterwards held at the 'Sun Hotel .

THE annual meeting of this Mark Province was held at Carmarthen , under the banner of the Mansel Lodge , No . 116 . . The Prov . G . M . M . Col . Sir Ed . Stock Hill , K . C . B ., presided , and was supported by his Deputy Bro . Robert Lock .

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Brethren are busy promoting a testimonial to their worthy chief Bro . W . W . B . Beach , M . P ., which it is proposed shall take the form of a

perpetual presentation to one of the Masonic Charities , to be named after Brother Beach , and to be in the gift of the Provincial Grand Lodge .

The Telegraph Cable Lodge , which binds together Masonic members the wide world over , has its first cabie-ship Captain Worshipful Master in Bro . Wilson R . Cato , R . N . R ., whose installation at the Hotel Cecil , on the loth , brought together a notable Masonic gathering .
