BOARD OF BENEVOLENCE .
THE monthly meeting of the Board of Benevolence was held on Wednesday evening , at Freemasons ' Hall , London . Brother Eobert Grey P . G . D . President of the Board presided , and the Senior and Junior Vice-Presidents Brothers James Brett and C . A . Cottebrune occupied their respective chairs . Bros . Edward Letchworth G . S ., W . Dodd and W . H . Lee attended from the Grand Secretary ' s Office , while the other Brethren present were Brothers the Eev . J . S .

The Brethren first confirmed recommendations to the Grand Master made at the September meeting to the amount of £ 70 . They then dealt with the new cases , of which there were forty-nine on the list . These were qualified through Lodges in the London district , America , Sunderland , Ormskirk , Leeds , Todmorden , Skegcess , Dagshai , Taunton , Liverpool , Ilminster , Beading , East Molesey , Ipswich , Carlisle , Chapel-en-le-Frith , Newbury , Gibraltar , Eamsgate , Lowestoft , Birmingham , Jersey , Hampton Court , Scarborough , Chatham , Lincoln , Selby , and Nottingham . Two of the cases were dismissed as not coming
within the rules of the Board . The remainder were relieved with a total of £ 1 , 430 . This was composed of two recommendations to Grand Lodge for £ 100 each , one for £ 75 , one for £ 60 , and three for £ 50 each . There
were six recommendations to the Grand Master for £ 40 each , and eleven for £ 30 each ; and there were immediate grants made : fifteen of £ 20 each , seven of £ 10 each , and one of £ 5 . The Board sat more than four hours .

REPORTS OF MEETINGS .
— : o : — , - METROPOLITAN . STANHOPE LODGE , No . 1269 . AT the usual monthly meeting hold at the Surrey Masonio Hall , Camberwell , on Tuesday of last week , there was a large attendance of Brethren and Visitors to witness the Installation of Bro . William Ivory S . W . as Worshipful Master for the ensuing
year . The Installation ceremony was beautifully worked by Bro Hy . Wood the Immediate Past Master , after which the W . M . appointed the Officers .
Bro . H . Wood I . P . M . was presented with a jewel as a mark of appreciation from the members of the Lodge for the very efficient manner in which he had carried out the duties of the chair for the past year .
A splendid banquet followed , about forty Brethren sitting down . The usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed and received with true Masonic enthusiasm , each toast being interspersed with some capital songs and glees .
o o o ECCLESTON LODGE , No . 1624 . AT a largo gathering held at the Criterion , Piccadilly , on Wednesday , 17 th inst ., Bro . F . Arnold in the chair , Bro . James Dotterill was unanimously elected W . M . for the ensuing year . Tho Installation ceremony will take place at the Criterion , on the third Wednesday in November . O O O
ALL SAINTS LODGE , No . 1716 . 1 1 HE Annual Installation festival of this successful Lodge took _ place at the Offices of the Poplar District Board of Works , on Thursday of last week , when , owing to the popularity of the W . M .-ele ^ t , a large number of Brethren assembled to take part in the interesting ceremony . The out-going W . M . The Lodge was opened with due form in the first and second degrees by Bro . Moore , after which the chair was taken by Bro . J . Kemp Coleman , to whom Bro . Francis John Waterson W . M .-elect was presented to receive at his hands the benefit of Installation . Bro . Waterson , having signified his assent to the ancient charges and regulations , was then placed in the Chair with the usual ceremony , in the presence of a large Board of Installed Masters , Bro . Leonard Potts P . M . acting as D . C .
On the re-admission of the Brethren , tho new Master was saluted in the various degrees , and subsequently invested his Officers for the year : C . R . Allen S . W ., J . C . Carpenter J . W ., W . H . Farnfield P . M . Treasurer , James Y . Mosey Secretary , Ernest Jones S . D ., William Bland J . D ., F . W . Whitlock I . G ., John Grout Organist , W . S . Duff D . C , W . C . Forman , F . Butler , J . Wiseman and W . A . Madeley Stewards , and C . Patrick Tyler .
Bro . J . Kemp Coleman then delivered tbe grand addresses to the W . M ., the Wardens and the Brethren , in a most impressive manner , which elicited the cordial approval of the assembly . The P . M . ' s jewel of the Lodge , together with a collar and jewel of office , was presented to Bro . B . A . Moore for his services in the chair , which was suitably acknowledged .
The report of the Audit Committee was received and adopted ; and the new W . M . having been congratulated by the Visitors the Lodge was closed . The company afterwards proceeded to the Holborn Restaurant whore , in the spacious Venetian Chamber , the banquet took place .
The menu cards presented somo special features and were greatly admired . Under tho Lodge crest was printed " the Pilot ' s Flag , " in allusion to the profession of tho W M ., while each course of the meal was introduced by a phrase from the Masonic ritual , a happy thought of Bro . J . Kemp Coleman , which we do not remember to have seen before .
Upon tho termination of the banquet the customary Loyal and Masonic toasts were submitted by the W . M . and duly acknowledged by the Brethren . Bro . C . J . R . Tijou responded for the Grand Officers , and said
those Brethren had many duties to perform besides attending banquets , and he believed the great body of the Craft were perfectly satisfied with the manner in which those duties were performed . He had witnessed the last eleven Installations of the All Saints Lodge and hoped he might be able to attend many more .
Bro . B . A . Moore in felicitous terms proposed the health of the W . M . He said that in Bro . Waterson they had a most earnest and enthusiastic Mason , who would prove a credit to the Lodge , because he knew the work thoroughly and could render it perfectly . Ho had been a constant attendant at the Lodge of Instruction , which was the only way to acquire the ritual . He was suro that under his auspices thc Lodge would continue its successful career .
