ON Tuesday , 9 th inst , the very interesting ceremouy of installing Bro . W . Burtoushaw aa W . M . was ably performed by Bro Staniforth . There was a goodly number of brethren present . Telegrams and

congratulations were received from the Prov . Grand Sec , the W . M . of Aire ancl Calder , Goole ; the W . M . elect of St . Nicholas , Thorne ; and other Masonio officials and Lodges . After Lodge duties tho brethren adjourned to Bro . Bartonsbaw ' s residence , whore a group picture was photographed by Bro . Brookes , from Messrs . Wellstecl ' s ,

of Hall , as a memento of the occasion . The banquet was set out in the Town Hall , and was of a first-class character , provided by Mrs . Chafer , and the Misses Chafer , of the Darby and Joan Hotel . The W . M . Bro . Burtonsbaw presided , aud the vice-chair was occupied by Bro . Constable S . W . Bro . Hemingbrough D . C . very ably managed

the duties of his office . The Loyal and Masonio toasts were given and responded to in the manner usual with Masons . These toasts were interspersed with songs , exceptionally well rendered . The instrumentalists were Bros . Burtonsbaw Organist , Le Gassick , and

Goodhind . The instrumental duet by Bros . Burtonsbaw ( piano ) , and Goodhind ( violin ) , was a delightful piece of work . Bros . Blagbro ' , Fox , Hemingbrough , and Bellerby , did pleasant service vocally . The happy meeting was only broken up by the arrival of " Mr . Brace ' s hoar . "

A NUMEROUS company of members and visitors assembled afc the Masonic-hall , Hope-street , Liverpool , on the 10 th inst ., to instal Bro . Henry Isaac . The chair was taken by Bro . Jessop W . M . They themselves had the control of the financial and other arrangements ; they had no extravagant management expenses to pay ; and they were enabled by its organisation at a minimum of cost to produce the maximum of efficiency and do the

greatest possible amount of good to the distressed ones whom it waa their duty and privilege to help . Bro . J . Morris responding , made allusion to the memorable Girls' School Centenary in London , at which ho was present , and whero tho magnificent sum of £ 51 , 000 waa collected . Compared with other Provinces , Cheshire might seem to

be in an unfavourable position in regard to her support of Charities , but then Cheshire had educational and charitable institutions of her own , which were doing a great and good work . Bro . Richmond next proposed the Worshipfnl Master , in eulogistic terms , and Bro . Clarko feelingly responded . The W . M . proposed the Visiting

Brethren , Bros . Brittain , White , Maddock 823 , Dean , Clarke , and J . Humphreys W . M . 721 , responding . The remaining toasts were the Installing Master , the Past Masters , the Officers of the Lodge , and the Tyler ' s toast . The harmony of the evening was materially con . tributed to by the excellent songs of Bros C . S . Dean , T . Brittain , E ,

Robinson , R . Parry , and J . Humphreys ; whilst the Junior Warden ( Bro . Shaw ) convulsed fche audience with laughter by an amusing reading , which took tho form of a sermon ou tho text "Old Mother Hubbard ' . " Bro . A . Phipps played all the accompaniments in his usual delightful manner .

rPHE annual meeting was hold on Monday , 22 nd insfc ., afc the J- Wyudbam Arms , Bridgend , when Bro . T . B . Boucher was installed as Worshipful Master for the ensuing year . muster of the members was not so numerous as heretofore . Among the P . M . ' s was Bro . T . Vincent , P . G . S . B ., father of the Lodge ; we regret to say , however , that Bro .
