THE numerous Lodges m the Province of West Lancashire was increased on the 19 th inst ., by the consecration ofthe Wyreside Lodge , No . 2605 , at Garstang , when there was a large and influential gathering of the leaders of the fraternity . The opening ceremony , which took place at the Town Hall , was controlled and carried out by Bro . W . Goodacre P . G . St . B . Prov . G . Sec . of West Lancashire .
There were present nearly 100 Brethren from various parts of the Province , all of whom appreciated the very impressive manner in which the ceremony was carried out under Bro . Goodacre ' s supervision . He subsequently installed Bro . J . Williamson-Wearing
P . P . S . G . D . as bhe first Worshipful Master of the Lodge . The other appointments and investments included Bros . G . H . Garnett P . P . S . G . W . as S . W ., J . Harrison J . W ., Eev . B .
Titley-Gardner Chaplain , J . Hartley P . M . Treasurer and D . G ., J . Allen Parkinson Organist , Alfred King P . M . Secretary , Titterton S . D ., A . Blackhurst J . D ., Evan Jemson I . G ., E . Huntington and J . Smith Stewards , and J . J . Hankin Tyler .
At the conclusion of the installation Bro . Goodacre said it afforded him the greatest pleasure , acting on behalf of the Prov . G . M . the Earl of Lathom , to invest Bro . Philip Armstrong P . M . 724 P . G . S . with the collar of the Provincial Grand Senior Deaconship , in place of a Brother who had recently died .
The members of the Lodge of Freedom , No . 77 , had a very pleasant outing on Tuesday , 23 rd inst ., when they left Gravesend by special train at 8 * 16 a . m . for Windsor , where the steam launch "La Bourgoine " was waiting to take the party for a trip . The weather was everything that could be
desired for such an occasion , and the admirable arrangements made by Bro . Joseph Davis were throughly enjoyed by those who were able to participate in them . After spending a most delightful day the party returned to Windsor , and journeyed back to Gravesend by special train , arriving about ten o ' clock .

Edward Letch worth G . S . E . presided , and was supported by Comp . John Barr P . P . G . H . as H ., W . F . Lamonby P . P . G . J . as J ., and many other present and past Provincial Officers and others .
Comp . Letchworth installed Comp . Col . F . E . Sewell as Grand Superintendent of the Province in a most able manner , and after the ordinary business of the Province was discharged , the following Officers were invested for the ensuing year : —

AT the Quarterly Communication , in Edinburgh , on the 7 th inst ., an abstract of the accounts for the year , which was submitted , showed that the income had been £ 645 , and the . expenditure £ 398 , and that the funds now stand afc £ 6 , 427 , compared with £ 6 , 180 last year . The charity fund had been increased from £ 889 to £ 1 , 013 .
