REPORTS OF MEETINGS .

We shall be pleased to jreceive particulars of Masonic meetings for insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative to report Lodge or other proceedings . — : o : — CRAET : METROPOLITAN .

ALL SAINTS LODGE , No . 1716 . THE fine hall at the offices of the Poplar District Board of Works makes one of the most spacious Lodge Rooms in the metropolis , excepting always the Grand Lodge Temple , so that no more fitting place for an installation ceremony could be found . A large number of Brethren assembled there on Thursday of last week , under the presidency of the VV . M . Bro . Francis J . Wafcerson , who was assisted by his Officers , and supported by a numerous body of Past Masters , among whom were Charles J . R . Tijou P . G . A . P ., J . W .

Norman P . Prov . G . D . C . Surrey , Oliver Papworth P . Prov . G . W . Cambridgeshire , W . J . Light P . Prov . G . S . W . Kent , A . G . Duck P . M . and Secretary 898 , J . W . Cooper W . M . 1056 , J . G . Turner W . M . 299 , C . F . Williams P . M . 898 , H . Muller P . M . 2501 , G . J . Anderson P . M . 781 , G . H . Mant W . M . 2466 , Orlton Cooper P . M . 211 , Snowden Kirk P . M ., C . G . Turner , G . W . Poskett 1625 , and others , the company mustering upwards of a hundred .

The Lodge was opened in due form by the W . M ., after which the minutes were read and confirmed . The chair was then taken by Bro . J . Kemp Coleman P . M ., who , having declared all offices vacant , appointed Bros . R . H . Harland P . M . as S . W ., G . W . Raymond P . M . as J . W ., and Leonard Potts P . M . as D . C .

Bro . Charles Robert Allen S . W ., having been elected W . M . for the ensuing year , was presented by P . M . Potts , and gave his assent to the ancient charges and regulations . A Board of Installed Masters was formed , and Bro . Allen was regularly placed in the chair of K . S . wifch the customary formality by Bro . Coleman .

Upon the return of tbe Brethren the newly-installed Master was proclaimed and saluted in tbe various degrees . The Officers for the year were appointed and invested , viz .: Frank J . Waterson I . F . M ., John C . Carpenter S . W ., Ernest Jones J . W ., William Henry Farnfield P . M . ( elected ) Treasurer , James Z . Mosey Secretaiy , William Bland S . D ., F . W . Whitlock J . D ., W . S . Duff I . G ., Wilson C . Forman D . C , Thomas F . Noakes Organist , F . Butler , J . Wiseman , W . A . Madeley , and W . V . Palmer Stewards , and C . Patrick

P . M . Tyler . Bro . Coleman subsequently delivered the customary addresses , and received fche thanks of the Brethren for his valuable services . A similar compliment was accorded to Bro . Potts . Two candidates and one joining . member were proposed for the next meeting , the report of tbe Audit Committee was presented and adopted , and tbe W . M . having received the congratulations of the Visiting Brethren , fche proceedings were brought to a happy termination wifch the closing hymn .

The festival banquet was held in the Venetian Chamber of the Holborn Restaurant . On the conclusion of the banquet Bro . Allen proposed the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts , which were duly honoured .

Bro . Tijou P . A . G . P . responded for the Grand Officers , and thanked the Brethren for the hearty welcome they had extended to him as a Grand Lodge representative . He always enjoyed being with the Brethren of All Saints , and the manner in which they upheld the dignity of Masonio working , and their efforts on behalf of the Charities , were a credit to East London .

Bro . Francis J . Waterson I . P . M . proposed the health of the Worshipful Master . He said he had had the most important toast of the evening entrusted to him , but as one could not paint the rose nor decorate the lily so neither could he extol the numerous good . qualities of their W . M . Brother Allen bad rendered good and valuable service to the Lodge , and was ,

moreover , Preceptor of the Lodge of Instruction , so that all kuew that during his year of office a Masonic treat was in store for them . It was said that happy is fche bride the sun shines on ; Bro . Allen had that day entered into the Master ' s Chair in the sunshine of hearty good wishes from all the Brethren , and he trusted that his Mastership would be crowned with every prosperity and success .

Bro . Allen thanked the Brethren for the enthusiastic manner in which they had received the toast ; he could assure them that nothing should be wanting on his part to uphold tbe dignity of tbe Lodge ; be appealed to the Officers and Brethren to co-operate with him in maintaining its reputation . Bro . Allen then proposed the health of the Immediate Past Master , and took the opportunity ol presenting to Bro . F . Waterson a Past Master's collar , with silver jewel of office , and a gold Past Master ' s jewel as a token of esteem from the Brethren .

Bro . Wafcerson responded in a felicitous speech , and warmly thanked the Brethren for the honours conferred . The W . M . proposed the Masonic Charities , and intimated that it would be his pleasing duty to serve as a Steward at both fche Old Peoples and the Boys Festivals during his term of office .

This toast was responded to by Brother J . M . McLeod Secretary of the R . M . I . for Boys , in a powerful and impressive speech , and there can be no . doubt thafc the effect of his appeal will be that the W . M's . lists at the festivals referred to will do credit to the benevolent instincts of fche members of the All Saints Lodge .

The other toasts were the Initiates , responded to by Bro . C . S . Mundy ; the Installing Master , by Bro . J . Kemp Coleman ; the Visitors , by J . Light P . M . Prov . G . S . W . Kent , and Bro . Papworth P . M . P . P . G . W . Cambridgeshire ; the Past Masters , by Bro . Leonard Potts ; and the Treasurer , Secretary and Officers , by Bro . J . Y . Mosey . The Tyler ' s toast brought to a termination one of the most enjoyable festivals of the All Saints Lodge , for the success of which the energetic Secretary was mainly responsible .

The new Master , Bro . Charles Richard Allen , was born in London in May 1655 , and was initiated into Freemasonry in the All Saints Lodge , early in tbe year 1888 . In tbe following year he was appointed Steward of tbe Lodge , and since that date he has filled all the Offices leading to the chair , with the exception of I . G . In March 1891 he was appointed Secretary to the All Saints Lodge of Instruction , and made such progress that in less than

twelve months he was unanimously elected Preceptor , which position he still relates . So highly did the Brethen appreciate his services that iu February lfck 3 th * y presented him with a handsome diamond and sapphire stud , together with a suitable souvenir for Mrs . Alhn , as a mark of their esteem , tinder the direction of so worthy a Brother the Lodge should have a prosperous career befor it .

Apologies for absence were received from Bros . J . W . Folkard P . M . Sec , F . Roberts , and others . The minutes having been read , Brother Woods S . W . said it was with feelings of deep emotion that he rose to move a resolution which had been placed upon the agenda paper after consultation with their esteemed Treasurer . It was that " the Secretary be instructed to express to the

relatives of our late Bro . J . Lyell the deep sympathy of the Brethren of fche Lodge , also to state how highly our late Brother was esteemed by his Masonio Brethren . " It was of a Founder of that Lodge he spoke , one whom to know was to esteem ; one whose life and work would never be forgotten by those who had had the pleasure of his acquaintance . It was true that by a

mistake he had resigned his membership of the Lodge , a mistake by his medical adviser , who was not a Mason , and who consequently hindered him from having a short time of innocent eujoyment , aud true pleasure at their meetings . He felt so full of regret that so good aud true a man had passed away that be could not find words to express his meaning , bufc he knew that all present felt as strongly as he did .

Bro . R . Steele P . M . Treasurer seconded the motion , saying that as the most intimate friend of his closing days he could fully re-echo every word that could be said in Bro . Lyell ' s favour . The vote was unanimously carried . Afc the banquet which followed the Lodgo , the usual Loyal and Masonio toasts were honoured .

P . M . Sec , Ben Johnson , K . N . Moflatt , W . H . Goddard , Marks , Marchant , Weekes , V . T . Goddard , C . Holland . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Brother Moffatt candidate . Lodge was opened in the second degree and the Brethren assisted Brother Goulston to work the first two sections of the Lecture .

Bro . Boyce having been elected to the chair for Wednesday next , 30 th inst ., Lodge was closed and adjourned .

CITADEL LODGE , No . 1897 . THE usual meeting was held on Friday , 18 th inst ., when there wero present : —Bros . A . Rusby W . M ., J . J . Lamigeon S . W ., D . Jackson J . W ., F . Dunstan P . M . A . G . D . C . Middx . Preceptor , Harry Willsmer Sec , C . H . Ditchman S . D ., H . J . Calley J . D ., Jeanes I . G ., and Bros . Millin , Witte , Ferstel , Davison P . M . Grand Steward Middx ., Johnson , and others .

The Lodge was opened in the 1 st , 2 nd , and 3 rd degrees , and Brother Davison P . M . acting as Candidate the ceremony of raising was rehearsed in a very excellent and impressive manner by tbe W . M ., who takes a considerable amount of interest in the ceremonial work , and is well versed in the ritual of Craft Masonry , considering that he has only been a Member

about two and a half years . Bro . F . Dunstan , assisted by Bro . D . J . Witte and the Brethren , worked the third section of the lecture , and the Lodge having been closed in the 3 rd and 2 nd degrees , worked the third section of the first lecture . A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Bros . A . Rusby for his excellent rendering of the third ceremony , the same to be recorded on the minutes .

Brother J . J . Lamigeon S . W . Clissold Lodge was elected W . M . for the ensuing week . The Charities Association started in connection with this Lodge of Instruction three weeks ago under such favourable circumstances now numbers nearly sixty members , and two Life Subscriberships were to be balloted for yesterday ( Friday ) .

PROVINCIAL .

ST . E 1 LIAN LODGE , No . 360 . A GOOD muster of Brethren attended the annual installation at Amlwch , on the 1 st . The W . M .-elect this year was Bro . John Owen ( Denbigh ) , who was installed by Col . Gordon-Warren D . P . G . M . M . M . There were two candidates for advancement , and the ceremony was ably conducted by Bro . T . Jervis P . G . S . B .

SEGONTIUM LODGE , No . 606 . THE installation took place on the 9 th , at Carnarvon , when Bro . J . Fairchild installed Bro . Dr . W . G . Owen as W . M . / - » rt rk

STAR IN THE EAST LODGE , No . 650 . rpHE anniversary meeting was held at the Great Eastern Hotel , Harwich , J _ on Tuesday , Sth inst ., when Bro . A . J . H . Ward was installed W . M . for the ensuing year . _ The Lodge Room was effectively decorated for the occasion by Bro . J « Smith Tyler , and the ceremony of installation was impressively performed bv Bro . Sir William Abdy W . M . 2342 P . P . S . G . W .

The installation banquet followed , and after the usual Loyal toasts tne Worshipful Master proposed the health of the Installing Master , remarking upon tbe impressive way in which the ceremony bad been performed . Sir William Abdy , in responding , said when he received the letter from tho Worshipful Master-elect he stood aghast , not knowing whether to accept the high honour or not , but being prompted with the feeling of his

about two and a half years . Bro . F . Dunstan , assisted by Bro . D . J . Witte and the Brethren , worked the third section of the lecture , and the Lodge having been closed in the 3 rd and 2 nd degrees , worked the third section of the first lecture . A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Bros . A . Rusby for his excellent rendering of the third ceremony , the same to be recorded on the minutes .

Brother J . J . Lamigeon S . W . Clissold Lodge was elected W . M . for the ensuing week . The Charities Association started in connection with this Lodge of Instruction three weeks ago under such favourable circumstances now numbers nearly sixty members , and two Life Subscriberships were to be balloted for yesterday ( Friday ) .

ST . E 1 LIAN LODGE , No . 360 . A GOOD muster of Brethren attended the annual installation at Amlwch , on the 1 st . The W . M .-elect this year was Bro . John Owen ( Denbigh ) , who was installed by Col . Gordon-Warren D . P . G . M . M . M . There were two candidates for advancement , and the ceremony was ably conducted by Bro . T . Jervis P . G . S . B .

SEGONTIUM LODGE , No . 606 . THE installation took place on the 9 th , at Carnarvon , when Bro . J . Fairchild installed Bro . Dr . W . G . Owen as W . M . / - » rt rk

STAR IN THE EAST LODGE , No . 650 . rpHE anniversary meeting was held at the Great Eastern Hotel , Harwich , J _ on Tuesday , Sth inst ., when Bro . A . J . H . Ward was installed W . M . for the ensuing year . _ The Lodge Room was effectively decorated for the occasion by Bro . J « Smith Tyler , and the ceremony of installation was impressively performed bv Bro . Sir William Abdy W . M . 2342 P . P . S . G . W .

The installation banquet followed , and after the usual Loyal toasts tne Worshipful Master proposed the health of the Installing Master , remarking upon tbe impressive way in which the ceremony bad been performed . Bro . Sir William Abdy , in responding , said when he received the letter from tho Worshipful Master-elect he stood aghast , not knowing whether to accept the high honour or not , but being prompted with the feeling of his
