last Lodge , "That ten guineas be voted from the Lodge funds towards the Royal Masonio Boys' School , and added to the list of the W . M ., and that the ten guineas allotted by the Prov . Grand Lodge , be applied in the same manner ; " this also was carried . After the customary ceremonies , the Lodge was closed according to ancient form .

Kings Cross Lodg e , No . 1732 . —The first regular meeting since the installation was held on Friday , 19 th inst ., at Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleet-street , under the presidency of the W . M . Bro . H . Stiles , H . Higgins S . W ., L . Solomon J . W ., J . J . Michael P . M . Treasurer , W . M . Stiles P . M . as Secretary , L . Jacobs S . D ., Putland as I . G ., B . Kauffman D . C , Fletcher W . S ., P . M . ' s Bros . Briggs , T . Knight P . P . G . D . C .

Kent , W . M . Stiles ; Visitors—Bros . W . G . Burgess W . M . 1472 , James C . Smith 1741 , N . Vallentine W . S . 1017 , F . Silvester 193 , and H . M . Levy P . M . 188 . After preliminary work had been disposed of , a ballot was taken for the admission of Mr . C . S . Mote ; this was unanimous in his favour , and he was duly initiated into the Order by the W . M . Bro . Briggs I . P . M . stated that he was about to act as Steward

for the Anniversary Festival of the Girls' School , ancl Bro . Solomon J . W . said he had a ballot draw for the sum of five guineas which he would be pleased to place on Bro . Briggs ' s list . The acting Secretary read the report of the Committee for the purpose of establishing a Benevolent Fund to bo attached to the Lodge . The consideration of this was deferred until October , when tho matter will be fully

discussed . The Lodge was then closed until October , and the brethren sat down to a substantial dinner . The W . M . proposed the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts . He was sure the brethren would excuse him making long speeches ; he sincerely hoped all would enjoy themselves . Bro . Briggs was pleased at having to propose the health of the W . M . ; the brethren had heard how he had done the work ; during the present year they might be sure they had the right

man in the right place . The W . M . in reply thanked Bro . Briggs , and also the brethren for the hearty reception they had given the toast . He should look to the brethren for their kind support to enable him to perform his duties to their satisfaction . The remaining toasts customary on these occasions were fully honoured , and able responses were made . The proceedings throughout were of a most agreeable character .

Vallentine , Abrahams , and Paul were appointed to audit the accounts . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Birrell as candidate . The Auditors' account was then received , and . after giving

ten guineas to the Boy s School , a distressed brother was relieved , and the balance in hand was £ 3 8 s 8 d . The W . M . informed the brethren that the Fifteen Sections would be worked at this Lodge of Instrnction on the 27 th inst ., when the attendance of the brethren is requested .

After preliminary work had been disposed of , a ballot was taken for the admission of Mr . C . S . Mote ; this was unanimous in his favour , and he was duly initiated into the Order by the W . M . Bro . Briggs I . P . M . stated that he was about to act as Steward

for the Anniversary Festival of the Girls' School , ancl Bro . Solomon J . W . said he had a ballot draw for the sum of five guineas which he would be pleased to place on Bro . Briggs ' s list . The acting Secretary read the report of the Committee for the purpose of establishing a Benevolent Fund to bo attached to the Lodge . The consideration of this was deferred until October , when tho matter will be fully

discussed . The Lodge was then closed until October , and the brethren sat down to a substantial dinner . The W . M . proposed the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts . He was sure the brethren would excuse him making long speeches ; he sincerely hoped all would enjoy themselves . Bro . Briggs was pleased at having to propose the health of the W . M . ; the brethren had heard how he had done the work ; during the present year they might be sure they had the right

man in the right place . The W . M . in reply thanked Bro . Briggs , and also the brethren for the hearty reception they had given the toast . He should look to the brethren for their kind support to enable him to perform his duties to their satisfaction . The remaining toasts customary on these occasions were fully honoured , and able responses were made . The proceedings throughout were of a most agreeable character .

Kings Cross Lodge of Instruction , No . 1732 . —On the 20 th inst ., at Bro . Devine ' s , Blue Posts , Charlotte-street , Fitzroysquare . Present—Bros . Burgess "W . M ., B . KaulTman S . W ., J . After preliminaries , the ceremony of passing was rehearsed , Bro . Jutsntn candidate . The

W . M . gave the illustration of the working tools very perfectly ; tbe second section of the second lectnro was worked by the brethren , Bros . Vallentine , Abrahams , and Paul were appointed to audit the accounts . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Birrell as candidate . The Auditors' account was then received , and . after giving

ten guineas to the Boy s School , a distressed brother was relieved , and the balance in hand was £ 3 8 s 8 d . The W . M . informed the brethren that the Fifteen Sections would be worked at this Lodge of Instrnction on the 27 th inst ., when the attendance of the brethren is requested .
