Botley delivered tho charge of the degree in a vory careful manner , and was complimented for tho zeal ho displays in study of the noble art . Bros . Lucas and Hildersloy ( Entered

Apprentices ) answered tbe usual questions leading to tho second degree . Bro . Gunner was elected W . M . for next meeting . Bro . Hildersloy was elected a member . Bro . Goss P . M . then rose , aud proposed , and Bro . Gomm P . M . seconded , a motion , to tho effect that Bro . R . G . Thomas , Organist No . 1602 , and a member of our staff , should

be elected an honorary member of the Lodge . Bro . Goss was very eulogistic in his remarks . Ho spoke of the frequent attendance afc their Lodgo of Bro . W . W . Morgan , of this journal , whose presence was always most welcome ; who had taken a great interest in the working of their Lodge , and was also on the look out to promote its

well-being ; and who had already been elected to honorary member , ship , as some slight recognition for his services . The Lodgo had had the opportunity of receiving another representative of the FREE , MASON ' CHRONICLE , and what ho had done that evening , evidencing as it did the care taken in the selection of the staff of that journal ,

made the honour of receiving and boing received reciprocal . Ho therefore proposed that Bro . Thomas ' s name bo placed on thoir roll of honorary members . The motion was carried with acclamation , and Bro . Thomas warmly acknowledged the compliment . Lodge was then closed in due form .

A cordial vote of thanks was ordered to be recorded on the minutes for the able manner in which Bro . Webb had worked the Fifteen Sections ; also that honorazy membership bo conferred on Bro . Cundick S . W . for his assistance . All Masonic business being ended , Lodge was closed in due form .

Eboracum Lodge , No . 1611 . —Tbo regular meeting of this Lodgo was held on 14 th inst . afc York . Bro . J . T . Seller WM . occupied the chair , and was supported by Bros . C . G . Padel I . P . M ., Past Masters T . B . Whytehead , J . S . Cumberland , and G . Balmford ; George Simpson S . W ., M . Millington J . W ., and other Officers and brethren . A ballot was taken for a candidate , after which the W . M .

announced that the following week he shonld go up to London to attend the Benevolent Festival , and he was happy to inform the Lodgo that Bro . T . Humphries Assistant Secretary would accompany him as a Steward also . Several matters of business connected with the Lodgo were disposed of , and after the close of the Lodge the brethren spent a couple hours in social intercourse . Several subscriptions to the Lodge Stewards' list for the Benevolent Festival were given in .
