Tho selection of Officers seemed to give the greatest satisfaction

to the members , and tha expressions of opinion must havo been eminently gratifying both to the Master and to those appointed . The audit report was read and adopted . A discussion as to the removal of tho Lodge then took place . Bro . Seex moved , and Bro . Noehmer seconded a proposition , that a com . mittee be formed , to consist of the W . M ., Wardens , Past Masters ,

Treasurer , Secretary , and others , to report thereon at tho next regular meeting . It was proposed that the sanction of the Lodge be granted to Bro . Horsoy to carry on a Lodge of Instruction at tho Bell Tavern , Carter-lane , E . C . A vote of condolence was ordered to be recorded on the minutes to tho I . P . M ., Bro . Black , on his recent bereavement . A sum of £ 20 was voted for the R . M . B . I .,

to be placed on the list of Bro . Nohetner P . M ., who ia a Steward at the next Anniversary Festival . Bro . T . S . Mortlock P . M . stated that tho Lodgo was Vice-President of all the Charities . He trusted they might always be able to give twenty guineas when required . Hearty good wishes were given , and the brethren sat down to a very excellent banquet and dessert provided by Bro . Cole . Tho W . M .

genially presided , and in introducing the toasts said : Her Most Gracious Majesty the Queen was tho Patroness of onr Order ; three of her sons were Masons . With the toast he would couple the Craft . The National Anthem was then sung . The next toast was one all are proud to receive . Our Masonic Sovereign , the Head of our Noble Order , and ouv future King .

Those who were privileged to be present at the installation of the Prince of Wales , witnessed a sight that has never been equalled . Since then Masonry had greatly advanced and flourished . The next toast , the W . M . said , was one equally deserving of their recognition . The Pro Grand Master had been selected by the M . W . the Grand Master to preside in his absence , and the brethren could

testify how Lord Carnarvon had filled his high position . His qualities as a statesman were equally appreciated , and he was ever ready with his services if he could advance the interests of the Order . The Deputy G . M . the R . W . Lord Skelmersdale deserved the same meed of praise 5 with this toast he would couple the names of the Grand Officers past and present . Bro . Mortlock then rose : it was

some time since he had acted as I . P . M . ; it was his pleasure now to propose the health of the W . M . ; he regretted Bro . Black had not the honour of initiating the candidate ; he knew he could perform any ceremony required of him . Their new W . M . had been a member of the Craft only three years and three months ; he was now placed in office , and they had a good example in the perseverance shown by

him . In selecting the W . M . the brethren had placed tho right man in the right place . He hoped he might live long and be spared among them for many years ; when he retired from the chair he would have the good wishes of every Bro . in the Lodge . Miss May Woodville here sang " When the Heart is Young . " The W . M . rose to reply . Ho thanked them very much for the cordial manner thoy

had responded to the toast . He found it difficult to express his feelings . He was proud of the position he occupied at being elected to the chair so early in his Masonic career . He asked them for their hearty support during his year of office , and again thanked them for tbe manner they had responded . The next toast given was the health of the Initiates : without them Lodges could scarcely prosper .

In addition , the introduction of new members gives the W . M . an opportunity to show his proficiency . From the attention Bro . Bis . choff had paid to the ceremony , he was convinced he wonld be all the Craft required of him . Bro . Daniel then sang " Jack ' s Yarn . " Bro . Bischoffi thanked the W . M . for having so kindly spoken of him . He was pleased he had entered the ranks of Freemasonry , and

regretted not having joined earlier ; from what he had seen he felt a great pleasure in being among them , and being associated with so noble an Order . The W . M . then proposed the toast of the Visitors . By the interchange of visits , Lodges promoted harmony ancl good fellowship . He would call on Bros . Gottheil , G . Everett , aud Keeble to respond . Bro . Gottheil said he wonld be brief . He bad to thank

Bro . Mortlock for being present that evening ; he was pleased to see how that worthy Bro . had performed tho ceremonies of initiation and installation . However , from tho way in which the W . M . had presided , ho agreed with Bro . Mortlock that the W . M . was the right man in tho right place . Bro . G . Everett followed , and endorsed all that tho former brother had so elegantly expressed since ho

was initiated . The W . M . has carried out the motto of tlie Lodge-Industry . He ( the speaker ) had visited many Lodges , but had never more thoroughly enjoyed himself . These remarks were supplemented by Bro . Keeble , who agreed with what had been said by those who had preceded him . The Past Masters was next given ; tho W . M . regretted the absence of tho I . P . M . This toast was one that he felt au especial

pleasure in proposing . The great aim of those who aspire to the chair is to rank among those who have done their duty to the satisfaction of tho Lodge , and made themselves distinguished in Freemasonry . He hoped at the expiration of his year of office to become one of these , and to deserve a portion of the just encomiums he had frequently heard passed . Bro . Hook S . W . delighted tho brethren with .

a very humorous buffo song . Bro . T . S . Mortlock thanked the W . M . for the kind manner he had brought the names of the Past Masters before the Lodge . They wero established in a bond of union , and should continue 30 , so long as they continued to do all for the interest of tho Lodge . The older members , ha waa sure , would co-operate with the younger ones . Bro . W . Mann P . M . followed , and urged

the claims of the Masonio Charities ; these wero primary , and should go before anything after the business of the Lodge . He ( Bro . Mann ) was always ready to act as a Steward ; they had , however , already one from the Lodgo this year , and if thoy had not funds sufficient , the Industry Lodgo wonld help to find them . Bro . Mortlock and himself havo always been fore

most in advocating the cause of tho Institutions . With tho permission of tho W . M he would propose the toast of Success to the Masonio Charities , coupled with the name of Bro . Noehmer P . M ., who is a Steward for the next Festival of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution . Bros . Dyer P . M . and Wylo P . M . then said a few words . They thanked the W .
