Board of Installed Principals . 'At the close of the Chapter the companions adjourned to the refectory at the club , where an excalleut supper was provided by tbe Steward , Comp . Harvey . The usual Loyal and Royal Aroh toasts were givsn and duly honoured .

THE Prince of Wales Supreme Grand Master has appointed Sir Kt . the Rev . Dr . T . W . Lemon Provincial Prior of Devonshire to bo a Knigbfc Commander of the Temple . Hia Royal Highness has depnted the Great Prior of England and Wales ( the Earl of Lathom ) to hold an investiture of the Order at the meeting of the National Great Priory on 8 th December , when the newly-appointed Knights Grand Crosses and Knights Commanders will be invested with the insignia of their rank .

Hendon Lodge of Instruction , No . 2208 . ~ Thia Lodge has taken np quarters at the Railway Hotel , Wo 8 t Hampstead , where the meetings will be held every Tuesday evening at eight o ' olook . The opening meeting was celebrated by a supper , served by tbe host , Bro . Elden , in excellent style .

New Masonic Hall At Stow-On-The-Wold.

NEW MASONIC HALL AT STOW-ON-THE-WOLD .

ON the 14 th inat . Sir Miohael Hicka Beach , Bart ., Provincial Grand Master of Gloucestershire , paid an offioial visit to the Princo of Wales Lodge , No . 951 , at Stow-on-the-Wold . By special dispensation , the data had been fixed for tha annual festival of tbe Lodgp , and the oooaaion was made an important one by its having been chosen for tbe opening and dedication of a Hall to be henoeforth used for Ma * onio purposes . This Hall wa 3 formerly the old Gram .

mar School building . lb adjoins the ohuroh gates in Church Street . On reference to the Rev . D . Royce ' s History and Antiquities of Stow , it will be found that the Grammar School waa originally founded in the reign of Edward II ., 1475 . In 1594 , the aohool buildings were re-erected , a 3 a Latin inacription upon the walla testifies , by Richard Shepham , a oitizen and merchant tailor of London , and for many

generations upon an endowment of £ 16 a year , the school discharged with more or less etficienoy its educational work . The building had , however , for some years ceased to be used a 3 a school , when as a result of an inquiry into the Stow oharities held some time ainoe , it was ordered to be sold . Fortunately the Brethren of the Prinoe of Wales Lodge , moved by a public and Maaonio spirit upon whioh they

are to bo congratulated , banded together to preserve the venerable building from leaa worthy uses , and they have purchased the Btruotnre with a view of making the upper portion the habitation of their Lodge , whilst the lower shall be available for any public purpose , not being political , for whioh it may be required . The neoessary structural alterations to fit it for these purposbs have been oarried

out by Mr . Mark Hookham , builder , of Stow , and the internal decorations by Mr . J . Hartwell . The result ia very aatiafaotory , and the Freemasona have control of a bnilding at once comfortable and com . modious . As showing its approval of tbe work undertaken by the brethren of the Prince of Wales Lodge , Provincial Grand Lodge , at its last meeting in Cheltenham , voted the cost of a set of Offioers

chairs for use in the Lodge ceremonies , and its sympathy waa further evidenced by tbe Provincial Grand Maater ' s presence at tho opening . In dedicating the building , tho Provincial Grand Master briefly addressed the brethren upon tho importance of the work they bad initiated , and having declared it open , the ceremony of re-installing Bro . Henry Hollis as W . M . of the Lodge was performed by the D . Prov . G . Master Bro . R . V . Vassar-Smith . Then the W . M . appointed

his Offioers in the usual course , and subsequently the brethren sat down to an excellently served banquet at tbe Talbot Hotel . 'Notwithstanding the inolement weather , there was a numerous 'attendance of Masons , those present in addition to the Prov . G . Maater and his Deputy and the W . M . of the Lolge , including Bro ? . the Rev . E . P . Bent Past Grand Chaplain of England , J , fj . Winterbctbam Prov . G . Sec , and several present and pise Officers of Provincial Grand Lodge . —Cheltenham Examiner .
