THE annual [ Provincial Grand Lodge was hold at the Guildhall , Cambridge , on tho invitation of the Throe Grand Principles Lodge , No . 451 , on Monday , under the presidency of Brother Col . R . T . Caldwell Provincial Grand Master . The numerical and financial strength of the Province was reported to be satisfactory .

Three Stewards had been sont up to the gi'eat Festivals , one to each Institution , and over £ 300 was subscribed to them .

A Charity jewel was presented to Brother Benjamin Chennell , and a Charity jewel clasp to Brother S . H . Sbarman . The office of Deputy Provincial Grand Master having been resigned by Bro . Andrew H . Moye ? , through

illhealth , greatly to the regret of the Province , Brother the Bev . J . H . Gray , Dean of Queen's College , was appointed in his stead . The other Officers appointed for tho ensuing year were as follow : —

Avery successful meeting of tho Shurmur Chapter was held on Thursday , when the Companion after whom the Chapter is named installed as his successor in the chair of Z ., Comp George Graveley . We shall give a report of the . proceedings in our next issue .

The Freemasons of Exmouth have secured from the Hon . Mark Rolle a site in Ferry Road , for a Hall and Club . Much regret will be felt , when tho building is an accomplished fact , that the brethren will be leaving the Beacon Hotel .

During the recent Conference of the Institute of Journalists a visit to the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls was suggested , but time did not permit . It is now proposed to have a special Press gathering at the Schools on

Wednesday , 29 fh msfc ., in connection with the celebration of the Centenary of the foundation of the first schoolhouse . The project has received the approval of Sir Algernon

Borthwick , Sir Edward Lawson , Mr . Prank Lloyd , and others . All interested in charity , whether Freemasons or not , will be welcome .

Among the distinguished company who will be present on Tuesday at Lincoln's Inn Hall , when the Prince of Wales , assisted by the Earl of Lathom , the Earl of Mount-Edgcumbe , and others , will consecrate the Chancery Bar
