recognition of the services of Bro . Martin , and of the abilit y displayed by him in fulfilling tho duties of tho chair , ho was elected an honorary member of tho Locige of Instruction . Ifc may bo added that tho working of tho sections was completed in a few minutes less than tho stipnlated time—three hours—which is usually allotted for tho pur . pose , a fact which speaks well for tho ability and promptitude of all concerned .

A Photographic Masonic Novelty.

A PHOTOGRAPHIC MASONIC NOVELTY .

WE have been favoured by an inspection of a very simple but useful adaptation of the Art of Photography to the convenience of Members of the Craft , and more particularly of thoso who visit tho Provinces . Tho temporary want of a Certificate has often prevented a brother from visiting a Lodge iu some town where he has not been personally known to any resident , and where it wonld havo boon

difficult to prove his identity . It is nofc customary for certificates to form part of a Freemason ' s travelling equipment , and consequently it is often not afc hand when most particularly wanted , and hours which might have been profitably spent in the enjoyment of Masonic association aro thereby often wasted . To obviate this difficulty Bro . W . Slimy Marshall , of 34 Parliament Street , S . W ., has dovise ' d

and registered a Portrait and Certificate Case , whereby the identity of an applicant for admission to a Lodgo , and his possession of a satisfactory voucher , are placed beyond doubt . The case is of morocco , a tritlo larger than an ordinary ditto do Visite , on tlie front of which is impressed the name of the owner and number of his Lodge , and which opens to display his likeness in Masonic costume ancl a Photograph

of his certificate with sign manual attached . Should he be a member of several degress the case can be made to contain Photographs of each certificate , aud still fold in a compact form . Tho simplicity of the arrangement makes it a matter of surprise that it has never hitherto been adopted , ancl its utility is beyond question . Tho price also is moderate , ancl we recommend our follow craftsmen to call on Bro . Marshall , and judge for themselves .

WE have been favoured by an inspection of a very simple but useful adaptation of the Art of Photography to the convenience of Members of the Craft , and more particularly of thoso who visit tho Provinces . Tho temporary want of a Certificate has often prevented a brother from visiting a Lodge iu some town where he has not been personally known to any resident , and where it wonld havo boon

difficult to prove his identity . It is nofc customary for certificates to form part of a Freemason ' s travelling equipment , and consequently it is often not afc hand when most particularly wanted , and hours which might have been profitably spent in the enjoyment of Masonic association aro thereby often wasted . To obviate this difficulty Bro . W . Slimy Marshall , of 34 Parliament Street , S . W ., has dovise ' d

and registered a Portrait and Certificate Case , whereby the identity of an applicant for admission to a Lodgo , and his possession of a satisfactory voucher , are placed beyond doubt . The case is of morocco , a tritlo larger than an ordinary ditto do Visite , on tlie front of which is impressed the name of the owner and number of his Lodge , and which opens to display his likeness in Masonic costume ancl a Photograph

of his certificate with sign manual attached . Should he be a member of several degress the case can be made to contain Photographs of each certificate , aud still fold in a compact form . Tho simplicity of the arrangement makes it a matter of surprise that it has never hitherto been adopted , ancl its utility is beyond question .
