After the transaction of other business the Lodge was closed , and the Brethren repaired to the Royal Oak Hotel for refreshment , following which the usual toasts were honoured .

Lodge of Sympathy , No . 483 . THE regular meeting was held on Wednesday , 15 th—altered by dispensation from the usual date , which was the 8 th , in consequence of the Festival of the RoyaJ Masonic Institution for Girls being held on that day—at the Royal Clarendon Hotel , Gravesend ,

under the presidency of Bro . Spencer Bowen W . M . The minutes and other formalities having been disposed of , the Treasurer's report was submitted . Bros . W . Holland and Burrell were raised , Bros . K . Dickenson and R . W . Letten passed , and Mr . William Lowe and Mr . Frederick Matthew Oates initiated into the Order . Four candidates were proposed for admission into the Lodge , which was afterwards closed in regular form .

********** Elliot Lodge , No . 1567 . THE first meeting of the year was held at the Railway Hotel , Feltham , Middlesex , on Saturday , 4 th inst . Bro . H . C . R . Dalley W . M . presided , supported by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master Bro . Rear-Admiral W . H . St . Clair P . G . D ., C . A .

The Brethren afterwards sat . down to an excellent dinner ********** Tilbury Lodge , No . 2006 . INSTALLATION OF BRO . GEORGE RYON .

THE installation meeting was held at the handsome and pleasantly situated Tilbury Hotel , Essex , on Saturday , nth inst ., when there was a full attendance of the members and a goodly number of visitors , including Bros . Thos . J . Railing Provincial Grand Secretary , and Richard Clowes P . P . S . G . W .

The Lodge was duly opened by Bro . A . J . Brickwell W . M ., and after the confirmation of the minutes , the Treasurer ' s report was presented and accepted . The ballot was taken for the Rev . Charles Major Jenkins and . Mr . George Day , which proved unanimous .

Bro . Brickwell then proceeded to instal his successor Bro . Geo . Ryon in the chair of the Lodge , which he performed in excellent style . The new Master appointed the following Officers : Bros . H .

The Brethren subsequently dmed together and a most excellent programme of music was provided to intersperse the customary Loyal and complimentary toasts .
