He wonld connect with the toast the names of Bros . Peel , Sammons . Leslie and Bennett . The toasfc was drunk with great enthusiasm , nnd ¦ with musical honours . Each of the brethren named responded , and

expressed the true sentiments of the \ isitors in their pleasure at being present to seo tho excellent manner in which tho brethren of Everton managed things in and nut of Lodge . Tho AV . M . rose and informed the brethr n that thoy had present a brother from Canada , who , from his great experience and connexion with thf Masonic press , would please and instruct them with a few

remarks . Bro . Davies was making a tour of the Province , and had come amongst them to seo the working of Liverpool . In the name of the brethren of the Everton Lodge he accorded him a cordial and fraternal greetimr- Bro . Davies returned thanks for the mark of respect shown him as the representative of the F UEEMASOX ' S CnRON'icr . E , and freely accorded tlie commendation fche

M . after giving the toast of the newly initiated Brother , who briefly replied , roso to give the next toast , namely , tho Officers of tho Lodge , and in doing so spoke in the highest praise of the punctuality , efficiency , zeal , ancl co-operation of each . With

such a staff he said it wns a pleasure to work . Tho toasfc wns duly responded to by the S . AV . and J . AV . in a very appropriate manner , after which fche brethren retired . All present wero much indebted to Bros . Handford , Hiles , Twist , Cattroll , and AVilson , for enlivening the evening's proceedings with some capital songs .

Montefiore Lodge , No . 1017 . —This Lodge held its last meeting of ( he present Session on AVednesday , the 22 nd inst ., at , tho Regent Masonic Hall , Air-street , Eegent-sfreot , London , AV . Present --Bros . AV . H . fliillimrd AV . M ., J . Lazarus S . AV . Solomons J . AV ., E . P . Albert P . M . P . G . P . Hon . Sec . Jacobs Treas ., E . Ellis . 1 . 0 .. Goldhergcr Steward , Levy T . G ., Smith Tyler . Past Masters Bros . Victor Mvor ,

ceremonial work was undertaken . An appeal from a distressed brother , lately a member of Lodgo No 30 , was entertained , and ho was relieved with a small amount . The Lodge was then closed till October . Tho banquet wns served b y Bro . Nicols , tho proprietor of the Grand Cafe Eestaiirant Eoyal , and the repast was thoroughly enjoyed bv all present . On rising to give the toasts . Bro . Gu'liford

intimated that ho should nofc occupy the time of tho brethren in introducing them b y long speeches , as they had some talented singers present , who wero able and willing to entertain the company . He then briefly wave tho health of Her Most Gracious Majesty the Queen , with which ho coupled " Prosperity to the Craft . " Tho National Anthem was snng , tho solos being

admirably given by Miss Julia Sidney . The health of the M . AV . the Grand Master followed , and then came that of the Pro G . M ., the D . G . M ., and tho rest of the Grand Officers , coupled with fcho name of Bro . E . P . Albert , Past Grand Pursuivant , who acknowledged the compliment in his usual happy manner . Bro . Victor Myers now took tho gavel , and in a few pithy and well chosen sentences proposed the

health of tho AV . M ., whoso sterling qualities and capacity for business were well appreciated by the members of the Lodge . It needed no eulogy from him to commend the toast : thn AV . M . was always considerate for their comfort , and ample testimony of this was before them in the brilliant entertainment he had provided . Bro . Gulliford acknowledged tho kind remarks of Bro . Myers . lie trusted , in the

future , ho might have a little more work to do in the Lodge than had fallen to his lot that night . Ho was proud to be in his present position , as Master of a Lodgo which had ever been foremost in advocating the true spirit of our Institution , and assured the brethren he would spare no pains to maintain the reputation of the Montefiore Lodge . Before resuming his seat he wonld give the health of the Visitors ,

whom ho severally named , and called upon Bros . Morgan and Lott to reply . However , before these brethren did so he would request Bro . Morgan to favour them with a recitation . This request having been complied with , Bro . Morgan was called on for his response , but ho pointed out that tho task he had jnst accomplished had been somewhat fatiguing , and suggested that ' Bro . Lott should

precede him , after which he would add a fow words . Bro . Lott thereupon thanked the members for the way they had received the toast , and expressed his gratification at having been able to add to their entertainment ; he trusted this might not be the last occasion lie should have the plcasnte of being a guest at the Lodge . Bro . Morgan referred to tho estimation the Lodge was held in , not only amongst

tho Aiasons of this country , but on the Continent , aud indeed all over tho world . Ho trusted it would continue its career of usefulness , and hj as prosperous in the future as it had been in tho Past . With the toasfc of the Past Masters was associated the name of Brother Eskefl , who remarked that while they had the services of such Masters as the one who at present held

sway in the Lodge , thero was no fear they would lose their ( lan . No worthier Mason had ever occupied thafc chair . How . wer , should their present , or any other Master , ever get into trouble he donbted not the Past Masters would bo ready to help him oafc . Bro . Eskell then paid a graceful compliment to the brethren for the kindness evinced bv them in tho manner in which they had received

the toast . The AV . M . then gave tho health of the Senior and Junior Wardens . Ho congratulated each of those brethren on the way in which they performed their duties . Ho called on all to honour this toast , and personally ho thanked tho brethren for tho way they snpported him on every occasion . Bro . S . AV . replied : All he could do to « aiu tho esteem and regard of his brethren would bo to him a

rehearsed , Bro . Ball acting as candidate ; also tho initiation ceremony , with Bro . Moss as candidate . Tho first section of tho lecture wns worked by Bro . AVebb , assisted by tho brethren . A FEW brethren in the South of London , feeling tho want of - £ x Masonic instruction iu the degrees of Mark Master and Eoyal Arch , and considering it desirable thafc instruction in Craft Masonry should also be added , have obtained ihesanction of thePanmuro Craft Lodge , No . 720 , the Panmure Ma < k Lodge , No . 139 , and the Panmuro Chapter No . 720 , respectively , to the formation of a general Lodgo of Instruction to bo established in accordance with the Constitutions of

tho Orders of English Freemasonry , and to be called tho PANJIUKB GE . VEJUT , LODGE or MASONIC I . N ' . STHUCTIO . V . Tho meetings to be held at the Antelope Tavern , Lord-road , Brixton , on each Thursday evening , throughout tho year , from 7 . 30 to 0 . 30 , under the joint Preceptorship of Bro . James Stevens P . M . Craft and Mark Degrees , and P . Z . Eoyal Arch ; ancl Bro . Thomas Poore P . M . Craft ancl Mark Degrees , and J . Eoyal Arch . The mode of working to be as follows ,
