Several Parliamentary elections have taken place . Lord Lewisbam has been returned without opposition for West Kent , in the placo of Mr . Talbot . Mr . Talbot was on Saturday declared by an overwhelming majority to be the

Ihe vacant scat in the Court of Aldermen , caused by the death Mr . Alderman Cartel ' , has been this week filled by the election of Mr . R . F . Fowler , a prominent member of a well-known firm of London bankers . Lord Salisbury has declined to received a deputation ,
