The Lodge jewel was voted to Bro . B . D'Acosta on his appointment as I . P . M ., and au additional handsome jewel waa presented to him by several brethren to mark their recognition of his services as W . M . during the past twelve months .

The report of the auditors was received , showing a substantial balance , aud a sum of two guineas was voted towards the Building Fund of the new wing of the Royal Free Hospital , of whioh institution the Earl of Lathom is Chairman . The brethren afterwards adjourned to the banquet-room , where a recherche repast was served . The usual Loyal and Masonic toasts being disposed of , Bro . D'Acoata proposed

the health of tho new W . M ., in eulogistic terms , and remarked tbat the Lodge would be proud of him , as he was a most admirable worker of the ritual . The W . M . in reply said there were certain times in a man ' s life when he might be pardoned for being proud , and ho could not help feeling proud at beinc ; placed iu the enviable position of Master of the Friars' Lodge . Ho should lely upon his

Officers and the brethren generally to make his year of office a success . He would endeavour to do his duty faithfully , and trusted that when he laid down the gavel at the termination of the twelve months , tho brethren would have no fault ' . •¦ find with any action of his . Friars' Lodge . Ho bad left tho chair iu a most prosperous state , with tho largest balance ever handed over . With regard to the work , he was a host in himself , nnd in consequence of his talent was an honorary member of nearly half tho London Lodges of Instruction . Bro . D'Acosta in returning thanks hoped to continue to deserve all the good wishes bestowed upon him , and would always be glad to work for the Friars' Lodge . He thanked the brethren for both the

jewels , whioh he shonld cherish all his life , and leave as heirlooms to his family . Bro . Friedeberg P . M ., in a neat speech , proposed " Tho Visitors , " whioh was acknowledged by Bros .
