The Installing Master then addressed the VV . M ., Officers and Brethren on their respective duties , and fche Lodge waa closed . The brethren adjourned to the Half Moon Hotel , where the banquet was provided by Mr . Fiah . The W-M . waa supported on his right by the Installing Master , and on his left by Bro . Wayman I . P . M . After the banquet the usual Loyal and Masonio toasts were given and duly honoured , and a very pleasant evening was passed , some capital songs being contributed by the musical brethren present .

custom . After fche Board of installed Masters had been closed , the brethren were re-admitted , and Bro . Spencer duly proclaimed and saluted by them ( under the direction of Bro . J . W . T . Alfred Frederick Janes aud Mr . Henry Cundall , which proving unanimous , aud thoy being present , were duly initiated in impressive form by the new W . M ., whose working proved him to bo a

most efficient brother , and speaks well for the future of the Lodge , and his being able to worthily follow bis predecessors in the chair , this Lodge being noted for the excellency of its working . We may mention that the founders of this Lodge having now severally passed the chair , Bro . Spencer ia the first initiate who has occupied the same . A letter from the Right Hon . the Earl of

President , and Bro . Henry Garrod as Jnnior . The Board having confirmed grants afc the December meeting to the amount of £ 380 , proceeded to consider tho petitions of 41 applicants , hailing from London , Cheshire , Berks and

Bucks , Cornwall , West Lancashire , Bombay , West Yorkshire , Nottinghamshire , and other Provinces . Of these 41 cases , one was dismissed , four deferred , and 36 relieved , with grants amounting in tbe aggregate to £ 775 , namely , three with grants of £ 50 each , three of £ 40 , seven

of £ 30 , five of £ 20 , five of £ 15 , 11 of £ 10 , and two of

£ 5 each . The annual ball in connection with the Duke of Cornwall Lodge , No . 1529 , took place afc the Red Lion

We understand thafc Her Majesty fcho Queen has consented to give her patronage to the baznar which is to be held in the end of fche year in behalf of tho Annuity Fund

of Scottish Masonic Benevolence . At fche January meeting of the Annuity Fund Board there were 43 applications submitted , and 16 annuities of £ 10 each were granted to Freemasons or widows of Masons .
