CORONATION GIFT TO HIS MAJESTY .

THE following appeal is now being distributed to offices and workshops : Coronation Day , probably on or about the 25 th June 1 9 , will be a day of universal rejoicing . The whole Empire will show its loyalty and gratitude in countless ways . Preparations are

already proceeding apace to mark the great event . London citizens desire some permanent scheme for the benefit of the sick and suffering , and to give pleasure to their King . His Majesty has for years been seeking to emancipate the Hospitals of London , and to open all Hospital beds to the poor . Every day medioal science is discovering more certain means of cure , and every day special treatment is more necessary than before .

The Prince of Wales's Hospital i und has already done great things . It has secured the help of many of the wealthiest and many of the ablest men among us . It has sent them to inspect the existing Institutions ; to suggest better methods ; to see " that every Hospital is up-to-date , is properly managed , and supplies suitable l donations secured

accommodation . It has obtained many arge ; long lists of annual subscriptions from the well-to-do ; helped to renovate wards ; to enlarge buildings ; and has opened hundreds of closed beds in the teeming metropolis . A Coronation Gift is now proposed to free the Hospitals . The time is short ! The need is pressing ! Will you not help ? Everyone may give according to his means . Five shillings approximately pays the cost of a bed for a single day . No large amount is asked for , and every little helps . Please say how much you will give per week .

Printed subscription sheets will be furnished on application . Remittances should be made as early as possible after the end of every month to the Honorary Secretaries , Prince of Wales ' s Hospital Fund for London ( Depjartment O .
