BRONDESBURY LODGE , No . 2698 . AN emergency meeting of this Lodge , which was consecrated as recently as the 11 th March , took place on Wednesday , 13 th , at Bro . Coxen ' ss , 155 High Road , Kilburn , under the presidency of Bro . R . J . Campbell W . M ., who was supported by Bros . A . F . Hardyment S . W ., Edwin George Sec . acting J . W ., G Coxon P . M . Treas ., B . Stocker S . D ., A . H . Aldrey J . D ., J . Goodwin D . C , Chas . W . Paine I . G ., J . Battrum Std ., J . W . Smith P . M . Tyler ; Bros . W . J . Coxen , G . Wheeler , T . G . The Lodge being duly formed was opened with solemn prayer , whereupon the W . M . advanced the Lodge to the second degree , and Bros . J . H . Crook , W . H . Pearce , E . G . Lines , and A . R . Greaves were examined and , having answered the questions , wore entrusted and retired . The Lodge was opened in the third degree , and in due course those Brethren were raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason , and took their seats amongst the Brethren as such .

The W . M . resumed the Lodge to the first degree , and Bros . T . G . Palmer , Charles Greaves and J . Bennett , who had been initiated at the previous meeting , were examined for a higher degree , and having answered the questions in a most satisfactory manner they were entrusted , and retired . and those Brethren

Lodge was advanced to the second degree , were readmitted and in regular form were advanced to the degree of Fellow Craft . We cannot speak too highly of the able manner in which the Worshipful Master fulfilled the duties of the chair ; the ceremonies were most impressively renderedand the explanations given in a really perfect manner .

, After some further transactions the W . M . received the well earned hearty good wishes of the Visitors , and the Lodge was closed , after which the Brethren partook of refreshment .

ALLEYN LODGE , No . 2647 . AN emergency meeting was held on Saturday , 9 th inst ., at the Crown and Greyhound Hotel , Dulwich , for the purpose of raising Bros . 0 . L . Lechmere and A . Browne , and to ballot for and initiate Mr . N . W . Buis . Both ceremonies were worked in a very perfect manner by the Worshipful Master Bro . G . W . Capel , who was well supported throughout hy his Officers .

After the Lodge business was finished ,, the Brethren adjourned to the fine banqueting hall to dine , and a very pleasant evening followed . Some capital songs were rendered between the various toasts by Miss Ivy Russell , Miss Mabel L . Scott , Bro . E . Scott , and Bro . O'Mash , the musical arrangements being looked after by Bro . E . J . Austen .

of passing was rehearsed , Bro . Davey candidate . The W . M . advanced the Lodge to the third degree , and closed down to the first . Bro . Barnes was elected W . M . for the next meeting , which will be held on the last Tuesday in September , the winter session being then opened with a supper .

A hearty vote of thanks was recorded to Bro . B . Stewart Preceptor , for the able assistance he had given towards the instruction of the Brethren , which compliment was duly acknowledged in Brother Stewart ' s usual able manner .

ROYAL VICTORIAN JUBILEE LODGE , No . 2184 . A MEETING of this Lodge of Instruction—formerly known as the Terriers—was held at the Dover Castle Hotel , Westminster Bridge Road , of which Bro . Edward Voight is the manager , on Wednesday afternoon , at three o ' clock , when there were present Bros . A . B . Collins W , M ., C Wetton S . W ., B . Cohen J . W ., A . Darch P . M . . Prec , C . Randall S . D ., J . Wynman J . D ., E . Sinclair P . M . Sec . I . G ., and B . Andrews .

The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Brother Randall acting as candidate , and he afterwards answered the questions leading to the second degree , tbe ceremony of which was gone through . The W . M . advanced the Lodge to the third degree and closed down . Bro . Andrews was elected a member , and Bro . Wetton chosen to occupy the chair on Wednesday next .

Bro . Darch proposed that a hearty vote of thanks be passed and ' recorded on the minutes for the perfect manner in which the W . M . had occupied the chairfor the first time in this Lodge , which was unanimously agreed to .

Barber Secretary , Kershaw S . D ., Elkin J . D ., Catling I . G ., and J . Wynman . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Wynman acting as candidate . The Lodge was called off , and on resumption was opened in the

second degree , and the ceremony of passing was rehearsed , Bro . Elkin acting as candidate . The first section of the lecture was worked by Bro . Williams Preceptor . A complimentary vote was passed to the W . M ., who on this occasion acted for the first time as W . M . in this Lodge . . Bro . Jupp was elected to preside at the next meeting .

MEETING OF YORKSHIRE TEMPLARS . THE ancient and historic precincts of Templenewsam were for a few hours on Saturday afternoon , 25 th ult ., re-peopled with Knights Templar , not of the " mail clad " order , who founded the preeeptory there in the twelfth century , and occupied it until the year 1332 , when it was surrendered to tbe King , but by their remote and non-aggressive successors , who constitute an important and picturesque Order in Freemasonry . The occasion was the

summer meeting of those of them within the Province of West Yorkshire , which meeting , by the kind permission of the Hon . Mrs . Meynell Ingram , was held in the great hall of the mansion . The assembly met under the banner of the Fidelity Preeeptory , Leeds . The starting place was the Masonic Hal ] , Great George Street , Leeds , and the journey was made in waggonettes and cabs . There were over eighty present from the ten towns or cities in the Province in which the Order has locations , and the meeting was under the

presidency of the Provincial Prior . Before the meeting an inspection of the house and its most interesting contents was made , and just before starting on the return journey an outdoor photograph of the assemblage in a group wa 3 taken . On arrival back at Leeds tea was provided at the Masonic Hall . Several visitors were present from North and East Yorkshire , and notwithstanding rather unfavourable weather , the meeting was in many respects a record one , and will be remembered with much satisfaction by all who took part in it .

Criterion—Bro . Charles Wyndham has most generously offered the use of this Theatre to Mr . Herbert Standing , for a complimentary matinee , to take place in the autumn , to celebrate the 21 st anniversary of Mr . Standing ' s connection with the house . Already a host of his brother and sister artistes have expressed a desire to assist on the occasion .

THE ancient and historic precincts of Templenewsam were for a few hours on Saturday afternoon , 25 th ult ., re-peopled with Knights Templar , not of the " mail clad " order , who founded the preeeptory there in the twelfth century , and occupied it until the year 1332 , when it was surrendered to tbe King , but by their remote and non-aggressive successors , who constitute an important and picturesque Order in Freemasonry . The occasion was the

summer meeting of those of them within the Province of West Yorkshire , which meeting , by the kind permission of the Hon . Mrs . Meynell Ingram , was held in the great hall of the mansion . The assembly met under the banner of the Fidelity Preeeptory , Leeds . The starting place was the Masonic Hal ] , Great George Street , Leeds , and the journey was made in waggonettes and cabs . There were over eighty present from the ten towns or cities in the Province in which the Order has locations , and the meeting was under the

presidency of the Provincial Prior . Before the meeting an inspection of the house and its most interesting contents was made , and just before starting on the return journey an outdoor photograph of the assemblage in a group wa 3 taken . On arrival back at Leeds tea was provided at the Masonic Hall . Several visitors were present from North and East Yorkshire , and notwithstanding rather unfavourable weather , the meeting was in many respects a record one , and will be remembered with much satisfaction by all who took part in it .

Criterion—Bro . Charles Wyndham has most generously offered the use of this Theatre to Mr . Herbert Standing , for a complimentary matinee , to take place in the autumn , to celebrate the 21 st anniversary of Mr . Standing ' s connection with the house . Already a host of his brother and sister artistes have expressed a desire to assist on the occasion .
