EEPOKTS OF MEETINGS
We shall be pleased to receive particulars of Masonic meetings for insertion in our columns , and where desired will endeavour to send a representative to report Lodge or other proceedings . — : o : — CRAFT : PEOVINCIAL .
LOYAL CAMBRIAN LODGE , No . 110 . ON Thursday of last week , Bro . D . A . Thomas , M . P ., entertained the Brethren and lady members of their families at his charmingly-situated residence Llanwem House , near Newport , the guests altogether numbering about 120 . The party left Methyr by special train at 10 a . m ., and arrived at Llanwem shortly before 12 .
Bro . D . A . Thomas , M . P ., who is the new Worshipful Master of the Lodge , met the party and conducted them through the pleasant woodland grounds leading to the house , where the guests were cordially received by Mrs . Thomas , and after a short rest were most hospitably entertained , an al fresco lunch being served under the spreading branches of a magnificent
oak treo . The weather was delightful and the repast amid such extremely pleasant surroundings proved most enjoyable . During the afternoon a number of games wero indulged in , and later on tea was also served in the open , at the conclusion of which Colouel Lewis proposed , and Bro . Goodfellow seconded , a hearty vote of thanks to Bro . and Mrs . Thomas for their generous hospitality . Bro . Thomas briefly responded .
The health of the ladies present was also enthusiastically toasted , and responded to by Mrs . Thomas in a neatly turned little speech . Thanks were also accorded the Committee of Management , for the excellence of the arrangements . The guests returned by special train to Merthyr , leaving Llanwem about 8 p . m .
TRUE FRIENDSHIP LODGE , No . 160 . THE annual installation meeting took place on Tuesday , 11 th inst ., at the Old Ship Hotel , Rochford , when the installation of Bro . W . Carter Wood P . M . was performed by Brother Albert Lucking P . M . P . G . P . Prov .
G . D . C . Subsequently the Brethren sat down to banquet , when a handsome jewel was presented to the I . P . M . Bro . Walton .
A MEETING was held on the 17 th inst ., at the Lodge Room , Minster Yard , York , Bro . Edwin Carter W . M . presiding , and being supported by a large number of members and Visitors , including Bro . Hon . W . T . Orde-Powlett D . P . G . M . N and E . Yorks . P . G . W . Eng ., Bro . Joseph Todd P . M . Treasurer P . G . T . N . and E . Yorks . G . Std . B . Eng .
The minutes were read by Bro . A . Procter Sec , and confirmed , and a successful ballot taken for Bro . J . E . Burton , Head Master of Easingvvold Grammar School ( No . 322 ) , as joining member . Brother the Hon . W . T . Orde-Powlett then presented Bro . Joseph Todd with an address of congratulation as follows : —

North and East Yorkshire and Grand Standard Bearer England . Bro . the Hon . W . T . Orde-Powlett , in making the presentation , eulogised the valuable services which Bro . Todd had rendered to Freemasonry in the district , and then invested Bro . Todd with the Grand Lodge clothing and jewel , being assisted by Bro . Carter W . M . and Bro . H . Foster .
Bro . Todd feelingly acknowledged tho presentation , and tho kindness which he had always received at the hands of his Brethren of the York Lodge and those in York . He also said how much he desired to thank Bro . the Hon . Orde-Powlett for coming amongst them that day .
On the motion of Bro . Carter W . M ., seconded by Bro . H . Foster , Bro . the Hon . Orde-Powlett was thanked for his presence , the vote being duly acknowledged . A complimentary banquet was then given to Bro . Joseph 'Todd . Tho usual Masonic toasts were drunk , and the health of Bro . Todd was received with rounds of hearty cheering .
PRINCE OF WALES LODGE , No . 1035 . THE members held their annual meeting on Thursday , 13 th inst ., at the Skeimirsoalc Hall , Westminister Rood , Liverpool , to instal the W . M .-elect Bro . John Jones , and a Jaige number oi Brethren appeared in honour of the occasion . The than- was taken by Bro . ' L . Dalies \\ . M .
The installation ceumoi . y was ae . miiably peifountd by Bro . John F . Newell , J . P ., P . M . .. 086 P . P . G . S . W ., and the CUiceis were appointed for the ensuing year . During the evening a capital musical pregran . me was performed . In addition to the usual P . Ms . jewel , a handsome timepiece was presented to the letiring W . M . for Mrs . Davies .

GILBERT GREENALL LODGE , No . 1250 . AT the meeting on Tuesday , 11 th inst ., at the Lion Hotel , Warrington Bro . Joseph Dobson was installed W . M . for the ensuing year , Bro ' Ghas . Holland being the Installing Master . In the evening the usual banquet was held , when the Loyal and Masonic toasts were submitted and responded to . The proceedings both in the afternoon and evening passed off in a very successful and happy manner .
DUN DAS LODGE , No . 1255 . THE annual meeting of this Lodge was held at Freemasons' Hall , Plymouth , on Monday , 17 th inst ., when Bro . L . Wells was installed as W . M . The ceremony was conducted by Bros . E . G . Dutton , S . B . Harvey W . H . Botterell , S . J . Daniel , and W . Lavers , assisted by a strong Board of Installed Masters .
The banquet was admirably served by Bro . Harvov . The W . M . presided . The usual toasts were honoured , and Bros . Prout , Potts , Lavers , Rollins ' Gibbons W . M . 105 , and Stanlake W . M . 70 contributed to the harmony of the ' evening .
KEN LIS LODGE , No . 1267 . ON Tuosday , 11 th inst ., the installation of Bro . Richard Smith was held at th < 3 Lodge Room , North Road , Egremont . Bro . Isaac A . Parker was in the chair , and there was a gool atttendance of visitors from the various Lodges in the county .
After the ordinary business of the Lodge had been transacted , Brother Smith was duly installed as W . M . for the onsuing year . The ceremony of installation being performed by Past Masters J . Muncaster , J . J . Wilson , J Lowery , and J . Nelson . The newly-elected W . M . invested his Officers for the ensuing twelve months .
At the conclusion of the ceremony the Brethren adjourned to the Red Lion Inn , where an excellent banquet had been prepared by the worthy Hostess , Mrs . Lewthwaite . After she cloth had been withdrawn , the usual Loyal and Masonio toasts wero honoured . ,.
FERMOR HESKETH LODGE , No . 1350 . rilHE Lodge met on Thursday , the 30 th ult ., under the presidency of Bro . _ L John Armstrong P . M . P . P . G . S . of Works Cheshire , whose year of office
has been the most successful in the history of the body . A little over a year ago tho Lodge removed its quarters from the Masonic Hall , Liverpool , to the County Hall , Bootle . Since its removal its prosperity has been in the highest degree gratifying to its members .
To mark Bro . Armstrong s year of office a special grant of eighteen guineas was voted from the funds of the Lodge to the West Lancashire Masonic Charity , and also a P . M . ' s jewel was voted to him as a token of the appreciation by tho members of the valuable services rendered by him during his occupancy of the chair .
Last year he filled the office of W . M . in the Minerva Lodge , at Birkenhead , a Lodge established on literary and scientific lines , and whose object is to inquire into the origin and meaning of the ancient legends so numerous in the Crait . Bro . Armstrong read numerous papers before the Lodge bearing on the subject , notably a series on the descent of Masonic symbolism from the most remote antiquity .
WOLSEY LODGE , No . 1656 . BRO . W . T . PEAT P . P . G . O ., of Richmond , was installed Worshipful Master on Monday , 10 th inst ., at the Greyhound Hotel , Hampton Court . There was a large company of Brethren present , including several Grand and Provincial Grand Lodge Officers .
The ceremony of installation was admirably worked by Bro . Bond , of Putney , Bro . Sapsworth , of Richmond , acting as Director of Ceremonies . After receiving the salutes of the members of the Lodge , Bro . Peat invested his Officers in a particularly happy manner .
The banquet which followed the business of the Lodge did credit to Bro . Pratti ' s well-known establishment . The programme arranged by Bro . Peat for the enjoyment of the Brethren was happily conceived , and carried out in
a manner worthy of all praise . In proposing the various Loyal and Masonic toasts the new W . M . was very felicitous , and altogether conducted the after-dinner proceedings in a manner which left nothing to bo desired .
ARLECDON LODGE , No . 1660 . rpHE installation of the W . M .-clect of this Lodge took place in the I Freemasons' Hall , Frizington , on Wednesday , 12 th inst ., the Lodge being opened with Bro . J . Armstrong W . M . P . G . Stwd . in the chair . A presentation of a beautiful P . M . jewel was made to Bro . Armstrong , by Bro . H . Hartley P . M . P . P . G . Std . B ., in very pleasing terms , and was suitably acknowledged by Bro . Armstrong .
The installation ceremony was attended by a good muster of Brethren of the Arlecdon and local Lodges , and at the conclusion of the ceremony , on the invitation of the Worshipful Master , the Brethren present adjourned to
the Anchor Hotel , to partake of an excellent spread . A very pleasant evening was spent in toast and song , the latter being well rendered by Bros . Garrett , Spence , Kenworthy , Bell , Rose , Jackson , Weir , Clark , and Bewick . The meeting was a most successful one .
