had been observed , was placed in the chair aa W . M . In due course tho Board of Installed Maatera ( aa will be seen by the List above , an oxcoption illy strong one ) was closed , the lay brethren were readmitted , and the W . M . saluted in the three degrees . Bro . Wood delivered the addresses in splendid style , and on taking his seat was heartily congratulated on the completion of his year's work . The

report of the Audit Committeo showed the Lodge was in a sound financial condition , and Bro Read intimated that an amount that had been considered a doubtful asset at tho time the audit was held , had been partly liquidated . A notice of motion that stood in the name of Bro . P . M . Dickinson , " to make an alteration in the days of meeting , " was resevod for consideration at the next meeting . The name of a

brother who desired to join the Lodge was handed in ; letters were read ( one from Lord Londesborongh ) regretting inability to attend ; greetings were tendered by the visitors , and Lodge was closed . The banquet was well served , and after full justice had been done to it , the cloth was cleared . The W . M . in speaking of Her Majesty , said the Queen was a lady who had at all times shown thoughtful consideration for her subjects , and was desorvedly esteemed by all claases .

The M . W . the Grand Master waa popular , and Masona were delighted to know that he took ao deep an interest in th « i Craft . With the toast of the Grand Officers was associated the names of Bros . Cama , Barfield , Hogard , and Binckes . In reply , Bro . Cama spoke of the cosmopolitan character of Freemasonry . His brethren in the East appreciated the honour of having with them the Duke of Connaught

and Prince Albert Victor . These visits had a tendency to popularise the rule of Her Most Gracious Majesty the Empress of India . Bro . Hogard also replied ; he had beon intensely gratified by his visit , and wan pleased to see the new Mastor installed by his predecessor in the chair . He prognosticated a prosperous year for Brother Read . In reply to the toast gracefully given in his honour by Brother Wood ,

tho Worshipful Master said that his advent to the chair in the Loudesborough Lodge bad been a source of deep gratification to bim ; especially so as he had had the hononr of being installed by the worthy brothor who ho had himself placed in the chair of tho Lodge ou tho last occasion . The health of tho Past Masters was the next toast on tho list , and a handsome jewel was prosented to tho I . P . M .,

Brother Woods , fu thanking the brethren for the hearty roception they had given him , and for tho cordial support rendered during his Mastership , Brother Woods assured them he shonid over wear the jewel of tho Lodge with tho most happy recollections . Bros . Ashor Barfield ( Past Grand Treasurer ) , George Dickinson , Wetherilt , and Burleton also acknowledged tho compliment .

Tho W . M . hero asked permission to iuteryiolato a toast ; thoy had a largo number of Provincial Grand Ollicors presont , who had specially attended to do him honour . Ho appreciated tho compliment , and he was sure tho members of the Lodgo shared with him in such appreciation . Bros . Stafford ( Beds ) , Walls ( Middlesex ) , and others acknowledged tho toast . Binckes , who in a characteristic Hpeech assured the Lodge that so long as ho was associated with them tho Institutions should have Lis jtoady and persistent oxcrtious

ON Tae 8 day , the 11 th inst ., a splendid tea 8 ervice of eleotro-suver plate was presented to Bro . James Lose , P . M . and Secretary , by the W . M ., P . M . ' a , and brethren of the Lodge , on the occasion of his marriage . The presentation was made by the W . M . in a suitable speech , and responded to by Bro . Loso in an interesting reply , in the
