M . for the ensuing year , but owing to tho lamented and untimely death of Bro . Patrick Sword AV . M . elect doring the recess it was necessary to elect another Master , and postpone the installation ceremony nntil November . Feeling
reference was made by the W . M ., Bro . Squire Chapman , to tbe great loss sustained to Masonry in general and to the Minerva Lodge in particular by fche decease of Bro . Sword , whose high qualities as a citizen and a Mason were enlarged npon by several brethren present . Bro . John Armstrong P . G . Superintendent of AVorks waa duly elected to fill the vacant ohair , ho having previously resigned tho Treasurership of the Lodge in order to become eligible . Bro . Armstrong's
connection with the Craft extends over a period of twenty yoarp , and so highly were his great abilities recognised by his brother Masons that fifteen years ago he waa elected to the ohair of an important Lodge in the Province of West Lancashire . In returning thanks for the honour conferred upon him , Bro . Armrtrong foreshadowed a most interesting series of papers , whioh is likely to render his year of office one of great interest to the brethren .
