THE Board of Benevolence held its monthly meeting on Wednesday evening , at Freemasons' Hall , London , when the President's chair was taken by Bro . D . D . Mercer S . V . P ., the Senior Vice President ' s chair by Bro . H . Garrod J . V . P ., and the Junior Vice President ' s by Bro . H . A . Tobias P . G . St . B .

The Brethren who attended from the Grand Secretary ' s Office were Bros . W . Dodd , G . S . Recknell , and Frank L , Palmer . There was a very good attendance . Recommendations to the extent of £ " 210 made to the

Grand Master at the former meeting were confirmed , and the Brethren dealt with twenty new cases by dismissing three , and deferring three . One case was withdrawn by the Brethren who brought it forward . The grants recommended or voted were one £ 50 , six £ 40 , two £ 30 , two £ 20 , and two
