METHAM LODGE , No . 1205 . LARGE and spacious is the room adjoining Sincerity Lodge , at the Town Hall , Stonehouse , and when suitably decorated , as was the ease on the 17 th , it makes a magnificent banqueting hall , the electric light adding much

to its appearance . Following the installation meeting on Monday , the Lodge held its customary banquet in the above hall , Bro . A . E . Maddock presiding , the vice-Presidents being Bros . J . Maunder S . W ., and E . T . Woolcock J . W . The customary toast list was afterwards gone through .

Beever , in his usual very careful and excellent

manner . In consequence of the death of Bro . Bradshaw P . M ., late Treasurer , it became necessary to elect another in his stead , and this duty was rendered very easy by the unanimous adoption of Bro . Henry Nail P . M ., & c , who had hitherto acted in the capacity of Secretary .

PRINCE ARTHUR LODGE , No . 1570 . THE installation was held at the Masonic Hall , Hope Street , Liverpool , on Tuesday , 17 th , in the presence of a numerous gathering of Grand and Provincial Grand Officers and Brethren . The ceremony was performed by Bro . John Clayton the out-going Master , who installed as his successor Bro . John Plumpton .

As a token of the esteem in which the outgoing Master was held , a beautiful Past Master ' s jewel was presented to him , and in further recognition of his services to the Lodge , a full set of Elkington ' s silver cutlery , in a polished oak case , was handed , to him for Mrs . Clayton .

URMSTON LODGE , No . 1730 . THE regular meeting was held at the Victoria Hotel , Urmston , on Monday , 9 th inst . As there was no particular business to engage the attention of the Brethren , an early adjournment was made to the festive board , where

Loyal and Masonic toasts were pleasantly relieved by the vocal and recitative efforts of Bros . Walter Bowers W . M ., George R . Lloyd P . M . P . P . G . Treas . See ., J . H . Marsh P . M ., E . W . Barratt , and Edward Roberts P . M . 1459 ( FREE - MASON ' S CHBOHICLE ) .

The W . M . proposed the toast of the Provincial Officers , to which Bro . Edward L . Littler P . M . P . P . G . P . Treas . responded in his usual happy manner . He gave a fitting meed of praise to those members of the purple whose interest in matters Masonic brought their names constantly before the Brethren , not forgetting his colleagues of the Urmston Lodge , who , he said , always evinced great interest in its prosperity .

Bro . John Walton jun . I . P . M . proposed the health of the W . M ., who said , in reply , he hoped to announce some work , and that before long ; at the same time advising his Officers to make themselves proficient , this being a necessary requirement . Bro . Bowers proposed the health of the I . P . M ., the latter responding .

Bro . Walton said he gathered from the remarks of Bro . Bowers that his work in the past had been satisfactory , and he could assure them that in the future his efforts would be directed to the same end . He was pleased to hear that there was a probability of work for them to participate in , and in conjunction with the W . M . he advised the Officers to apply themselves to study , so that they might be prepared for anything which might arise .

TRINITY LODGE , No . 1734 . THE installation was held at the Golden Lion Hotel , Rayleigh , on Wednesday , 4 th inst ., when Bro . G . M . Watson was installed by Bro . F . G . Grayson P . M . P . P . G . W . A Past Master ' s jewel was presented to Bro . G . F . Golding P . M . on his

leaving the chair , and he with great generosity presented the Lodge with a handsome carved oak W . M . chair , the wood of which is very old , while the carving represents sprigs of oak , acacia , and Masonic emblems . The whole is the work of the father of Bro . Golding , a gentleman eighty-three years of age .

As Bro . Percy Beard will represent the Lodge as steward at the coming festival of the Girls School , the sum of £ 10 was added to his list , partly from voluntary subscriptions . During the evening a draw in connection with the Lodge Charitable Association took place for a life vote to one of the Masonic Institutions . Brother Sidney Smith P . WAVERTREE LODGE , No . 2294 . THE annual installation took place on Wednesday , 11 th inst ., at the Coffee House Hotel , Wavertree , under most auspicious circumstances .

After the customary ceremonies the incoming Master Bro . F . W . Connor was installed by Bro . Thomas G . Parkes W . M ., and in a thoughful and fervent manner he thanked the members for his election to such a responsible position .

During the evening Bro . Parkes was presented with a Past Master ' s jewel , in addition to a scarf ring , scarf pin , and a crayon portrait of himself , by the members , in appreciation of his services .

VICTORIA LODGE , No . 2360 . AT a meeting at Southport , on the 17 th inst ., Bro . J . F . Roberts P . P . A . G . D . C handed to the W . M . Bro . C Dann a drawing-room clock and candlesticks en suite , copied from an Etruscan design in Venice , as a tribute from the Brethren on his approaching marriage .

instance Mr . Henry Shepherd , Salesman , Heaton Chapel , made his advent into Freemasonry , and Brother Samuel Crowther was raised to the sublime degree of M . M ., both ceremonies being performed by the W . M ., assisted by Brother Hy . Sheard J . W ., who presented and explained the working tools of each degree .

At the festive board which followed , Loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed and honoured , the candidates having the opportunity given them of fully expressing their ideas with regard to first impressions of the Craft , and they did so in neat and effective speeches . Bro . J . W . Fitton , in responding for the first time to the toast of the

" rank and file , " made a very good impression upon his auditors . He praised the efforts of those Masters who so far had occupied the chair , and exhorted all Brethren who , like himself , had not yet attained any position in the Lodge , to be loyal and true to those who might be selected to lead them .

VALE OF EDEN LODGE , No . 2493 . THE annual festival was held at the Tufton Arms Hotel , Appleby , on Thursday , 12 th inst ., when Bro . Geo . Thomas was installed W . M . for the ensuing year , and invested his Officers .

ST . MARTIN CHAPTER , No . 510 . THE annual meeting was held on Tuesday , 10 th inst ., at the Masonic Hall . Liskeard , when the principals , Comps . B . H . Williams Z ., W . H . Huddy P . Z . H ., and R . Faull J . were installed . Two candidates were admitted . The Treasurer's accounts were received and adopted , and the roll reported on as the largest since the Chapter was warranted .

rpHE first annual concert was held at Bro . Butcher ' s , Oliver Arms , JL Westbourne Terrace North , Harrow Road , W ., on Thursday of last week , a numerous number of Brethren and their friends being present . Several Brethren kindly contributed their services , giving some excellent songs . Amongst others who were present were Bros . G . Goddard , R . Armstrong , T . Mogford , H . Bridges , W . Clark , R . Rogers , G . Mogford , W . Evans , H . Buckland , T . Gale , T . Diamond .

Mr . M . G . T . Miles contributed some excellent selections on the harp , Mr . R . Thomkins gave some clever performances on the flute , and Monsieur Rossi * on the mandoline . Mr . Windeyer Clarke , F . C . O ., L . R . A . M ., accompanied .
