ROYAL MASONIC INSTITUTION FOR BOYS .

BY the kindness of Bro . Sir Augustus Harris P . G . Treas . the whole of the pupils of the School afc Wood Green enjoyed a visit to the Drury Lane Pantomime on Monday , 16 th inst . ; The Board of Management has also to acknowledge with much gratitude the invitation of Brother W . S . Penley , who has " given the senior boys renewed opportunities of witnessing him in ¦ '« Charley ' s Aunt . "

WE intended last week to give a complete list of the subscriptions for this most praiseworthy object since those announced in our issue of 23 rd November last , but pressure on our space precluded our doing so , and we were only able to publish the latest of the six lists . We now supply the omission , and hope to give a further list afc an early date , together with a statement showing the-progress made so far in connection with the Fund , which we trust will prove a valuable and eminently useful adjunct to the great Institution with which it is associated .

BARING LODGE .

AN important event in the history of local Masonry took place on Monday , when a new Lodge was consecrated at Cromer . The Baring Lodge , No . 2602 on the roll of the Grand Lodge of England , brings the number of similar institutions in the Province of Norfolk up to eighteen . It may be interesting to state that no Lodge has been established in the Province since the formation of the Suffield Lodge , at North Walsham , whose warrant bears the date of 4 th February 1878 .

The various ceremonies were performed at Tucker ' s Hotel , in a truly impressive manner by Bro . Edward Letchworth , F . S . A ., Grand Secretary , assisted by Bro . Hamon le Strange P . G . D . D . P . G . M . as S . W ., Sir Francis Boileau , Bart ., P . P . G . W . as J . W ., Eev . H . Wimble P . P . G . C . as Chaplain , Frank Eichardson P . G . D . as D . C , arid other distinguished Brethren .

The musical portions—a very prominent feature of the proceedings—were admirably carried out by the Norwich Cathedral Quartette Party , under the direction of Bro . J . H . Brockbank .

At 5 * 30 an elaborate banquet was served at the Hotel de Paris , the large company including mosfc of the Worshipful Masters of other Lodges in the Province , and a number of

notables in the Craft . The i oasts were agreeably interspersed with choice music , rendered in faultless style by the Cathedral Quartette Party . As the Brethren separated the one wish in their hearts and the one expression on their lips was " Prosper the Lodge !"— " Eastern Daily Press . "
