REMINGTON . rp HE second installation in this Lodge , which was consecrated JL last year , took place on Thursday , nth inst ., at the house ot Bro . G . W . Bucks , the Thomas-a-Becket Hotel , Old Kent Road , and proved most enjoyable .
The usual preliminaries having been observed , Lodge was advanced , and Bro . Simmonds was passed to the second degree , -by Bro . H . Carman W . M . Past G . Standard- Bearer . Brother A . E . Remington was presented as the W . M .-elect , and regularly inducted into the Chair , after which he was proclaimed
and saluted , then investing his Assistant Officers , as follow : Bros . T . Gibbs P . M . S . W ., G . Brown J . W ., G . W . Bucks P . M . Treas ., M . Davis P . M . Sec , M . Wartman P . M . S . Bro . Carman completed his work as Master of the Lodge by the delivery of the addresses in grand style , after which , the business being completed , Lodge was closed , and the Brethren repaired to the banquet room , where an excellent dinner was served by Bro . Bucks . The usual toasts were observed , the enjoyment of the evening being enhanced by an excellent musical programme ' .

Confidence Lodge , No . 19 3 . 1 ^ HE usual weekly meeting was held at the new quarters , the Hercules Tavern , 119 Leadenhall Street , on Wednesday , when the worthy host , Mr . J . F . Neade , welcomed the Brethren in a courteous manner . Bro . Metcalfe Baillie occupied the chair , supported by Bros . Cohen S . W ., Mears J . W ., Simeons W . M . of the Mother Lodge
S . D ., Done I . G ., Hobday r . M . Preceptor , and Goovearts acting Secretary . The first and second ceremonies were rehearsed , Bro . Rowland being candidate , after which Bro . DaCosta worked the first section ot the second lecture . Bro . Baillie was not up to his usual form and looked tired ; Bro . Cohen was perfect in his part , and the quiet earnest voice of Bro . Mears was very impressive .
Bro . Simeons came out quite strong as Preceptor in the lecture , showing how much he had studied those grand portions of the ritual so seldom heard . The old faces seated round the room , with Bro . Goovaerts at the books , showed that the link which had bound them together at the Bunch of Grapes was not broken ; only transferred to a fresh holding , the door ot which will be opened to any Brother seeking admission .

Worth having been duly examined as to proficiency the Lodge was opened in the second degree , and the passing ceremony was gone through , after which the Lodge was resumed to the first degree , and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Bro . Wilkins for the excellent way in which he had rendered the ritual .
Bro . Craggs announced that through the untiring efforts of the Secretaries and Officers of the West London Masonic Election Association they had been able to , get their candidate , Dorothy Marian Seeker , elected to the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls , and he informed those present that this was the sixteenth candidate who had been successfully returned through their exertions during the seven years existence of the Association . Bro . T . Leete 901 and 2765 was elected a member .
Burdett Coutts Lodge , No . 12 78 . A SPECIAL meeting took place on Wednesday , 10 th inst ., to mark the removal of the Lodge to Bro . D . L . Shuter's , the Admiral Keppel , High Street , Shoreditch , when Bro . Ben DaCosta P . M ., with an efficient staff of Section workers attended to work the Fifteen Sections . Bro . B . DaCosta was supported by Bros . D . Moss

P . M . Sec . of the Israel Lodge of Instruction . The working of the different Brethren was all that could be desired , and was highly appreciated by the assembled company . A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the workers , and this was acknowledged by Bro . B . DaCosta who while thanking the Brethren for their recognition said the work was purely a labour of love .
Bro . Moss proposed that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to Bro . Shuter , the host , for the ample accommodation he had provided for the Lodge , coupling with it the best -wishes of the members for his future success . Bro . Shuter returned thanks for the vote . Bro . R . Chitson Sec . proposed that the Officers of the evening be elected honorary members of the Lodge , in recognition of their services . This was agreed to and suitably acknowledged .
Bro . Harris informed the Brethren that the Sections would be worked on Sunday , 28 th inst ., at the Israel Lodge of Instruction , at the Rising Sun , Globe Road , Bethnal Green , and expressed the hope that the members of the Burdett Coutts Lodge and their friends would return the compliment of that evening by attending , He assured them they would receive a truly Masonic welcome .
