REPORTS OF MEETINGS .

— : o : — CEAET : METROPOLITAN

CRIPPLEGATE LODGE , No . 1613 . ON Tuesday , 9 th inst ., the members made their annual river trip . The party , about eighty in number , travelled to Taplow by rail , and thence to Marlow on the steam launch " Emperor . " A recherche dinner was served at the Angler ' s Hotel . The tables had been decorated for the occasion with great taste by Mrs . Kilby and her assistants . The chair was taken by Bro . Grover . During the afternoon a selection of music was played by the Marlow Orchestral Band , under Mr . R . Gibson ' s direction . The party left for Maidenhead on the launch about 7 * 30 p . m .

LEWISHAM LODGE , No . 2579 . A MEETING of this new and flourishing Lodge was held at the Parish Hall , Ladywell , on Saturday , 13 th inst ., when a large number of Brethren were present . The Lodge was opened and the minutes confirmed . Bros . H . Ponter and T . Hinds were unanimously elected joining members . Bros . W . Clark , H . B . Brooman , H . Kortlandt , and J . H . Minson were raised to the third degree .

The Ballot was taken for Messrs . E . 0 . Cook , S . R . Cook , and R . R . Cook ( three brothers ) and Mr . N . Poirin , and , proving unanimous in their favour , they were duly initiated by the W . M . Bro . Christopher Sims , both ceremonies being rendered in his usual impressive manner . The Lodge was closed and the Brethren sat down to dinner , after

which the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were honoured , and a good programme of music was rendered , the following Brethren taking part , viz .. * . Bros . Bridges , Lamb , Price-Taylor , D . Bartlett , Kortlandt , Simmons , Wilkes , and E . Hall Sec , who gave the " Initiate ' s " song , the Brethren joining in the last verse with much enthusiasm .

> This Lodge , which was consecrated on 28 th October last , now numbers forty-six members , and is sending two Stewards to the Charities , viz . Bro . W . G . Tyler to the Boys School , and Bro . J . W . Drysdale to the Benevolent Institution .

The W . M . proceeded to rehearse the ceremony of initiation , Bro . Scarlett candidate . Bro . Mainwaring having answered the questions leading to the second degree , the Lodge was opened in the second and third , and the

ceremony of installation was rehearsed by the W . M ., Bro . Truman being installed . We may compliment the W . M . on the excellent style of his working of this and the previous ceremony ; he continued with the customary addresses to Master and Wardens .

Bro . Mulvey finished by giving the address to the Brethren in general , which was also discharged in an able manner . Bros . Mainwaring and Fleming were elected members , and Bro . Truman

was unanimously chosen W . M . for next meeting . Bro . Mulvey proposed that a vote of thanks to the W . M . should be put on the minutes , for the most able manner in which he had discharged his duties for the first time , which was unanimously agreed to .

WESTBOURNE LODGE , No . 733 . AT Mr . D . Peron's , Oliver Arms , Westbourne Terrace N ., on Tuesday , Bro . George Barter W . M ., G . Weaver S . W ., G . Miller J . W ., G . D , Mogford W . M . 2362 S . D ., J . Wynman J . D ., 0 . Halston I . G ., R . J , Rogers P . M . acting Preceptor , G . Butcher , and several others .

The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Halston candidate . At the request of the W . M . Bro . Mogford took the chair , and opened in the second degree . The ceremony of passing was rehearsed , the same Brother acting as candidate . The Lodge was resumed to the first , and Bro . Barter re-occupied the chair .

Bro . Weaver was elected to the chair for the next meeting . Bro . Rogers proposed , and Bro . G . D . Mogford seconded , a hearty vote of thanks to Bro . Barter , on his first performance in the chair , with congratulations on the skill he displayed .

DALHOUSIE LODGE , No . 860 . ON the 16 th inst ., at the Lord Truro , Dalston Lane , N . E ., Bro . F , Dunstan Preceptor W . M ., McLachlan S . W ., Russell J . W ., W . S . Harvey Sec , George Clark , Schlosshauer , Walter Clark , Alderman , Fred Clark , Coulthard and T . Mathews .

The ceremony of passing was rehearsed , Brother Schlosshauer candidate , followed by Brother Alderman being raised to the third degree . The Lodge was closed in the third and second degrees , and then adjourned for its summer vacation , to Tuesday , 29 th September .

Bro . G . Johnson offering himself candidate , and having been examined and entrusted , the ceremony of passing was rehearsed . The Lodge was advanced to the third degree , and the ceremony of raising was rehearsed , Bro . F . J . Oliver candidate . Great credit is due to the W . M . for the excellence of his working . Both ceremonies were perfectly and expressively rendered . A word of praise is also due to Bro . G . Wood Preceptor and the Officers , for their able assistance .

Bro . Mulvey P . M . proposed that , Bro . Wynman should be elected an honorary member of the Lodge , he being a representative of the FEEEMASON ' S CHRONICLE , and the Brethren being always pleased to see anyone belonging to the press . This was seconded by Brother T . Kelly , and agreed to . Bro . J . Lewis will preside next Wednesday as W . M ., and it is hoped he will have a good attendance .

BROMLEY ST . LEONARD LODGE , No . 1805 . AT the Bow Bells , Bow Road , E ., on Wednesday , 17 th inst ., Bro . F . A . Slater W . M ., G . Fennell S . W ., H . S . Weeks J . W ., C Holland S . D ., H . M . Pollock J . D ., W . Joss I . G ., De Casseres P . M . Preceptor , T . Thornton Sec , Boyce P . M ., A . S . Bird .

The Lodge being opened to the second degree , Bro . Bird answered the questions leading to the third , and was entrusted . The Lodge opened in the third degree , and the ceremony of raising was rehearsed by the W . M ., Bro . Bird candidate . The Lodge resumed to the first degree , and the Brethren assisted Bro . Holland to work the first and second sections of the lecture .

Bro . Fennell was elected to the chair for the next meeting , on Wednesday 24 th inst .

CITADEL LODGE , No . 1897 . A VERY successful meeting was held on Friday , at Bro . Witte's , Farleigh Hotel , Amhurst Road , when Bro . Fred W . Bishop occupied , for the first time , the position of W . M ., supported by Bro . I . P . Cohen P . M . S . W ., Jones J . W ., Dunstan P . M ., & c . Preceptor , Harry Willsmer Secretary , Mason S . D ., Matthews J . D ., Galley I . G ,, Barnes , Bishop sen ., A . E . Horstead , Feistel , Geo . Clark P . M ., Witte , F . Kebbell .

The W . M . rehearsed the ceremony of initiation in a very praiseworthy manner , Bro . Barnes candidate , and at the end of the meeting was accorded the customary vote of thanks , with complimentary allusions by Bros . Dunstan and I . P . Cohen Past Masters , to the excellent way in which his work had been done .

The vV . M . vacated the chair in favour of Bro . Clark P . M ., who opened in the second degree , and rehearsed the ceremony of passing , Bro . Willsmer candidate . Bro . Dunstan then took the chair , and rehearsed the ceremony of installation , delivering the usual addresses in an admirable manner .

Bro . A . E . Horstead , a member of the Mother Lodge , was elected a member , and Bro . I . P . Cohen P . M . appointed to act as the W . M . for the next meeting .

LEWISHAM LODGE , No . 2579 . NEARLY eighty Brethren attended to hear Bro . Nelson ' s eloquent and instructive lecture , which we announced last week , and whioh , together with the splendid slides shown by Bro . Tyler , kept them interested for three hours .

At the close , Bros . Nelson and Tyler received the best thanks of tho Brethren , and were elected hon . members of the Lodge of Instruction , which compliment they accepted in a few words , expressive of thanks .

PEOVINCIAL

HARBOUR OF REFUGE LODGE , No . 764 . ON Tuesday , 9 th inst ., Bro . George Fox was installed W . M . at West Hartlepool , by Bro . J . Mark P . M . The banquet was served at the Royal Hotel , by Mr . H . Ducksbury .

CROXTETH UNITED SERVICE LODGE , No . 786 . THE annual installation was held on Friday , 12 th inst ., at the Masonic Hall , Hope Street , Liverpool , when there was a numerous gathering , largely composed of visitors connected with the Prov . Grand Lodge . Bro . W . Irvine was installed W . M . and the Officers were invested .

A Past Master's jewel was presented to Bro . Browne , and at the close of the usual banquet a selection of music was given by Bros . Gray , Wilson , Shaw , Scott , Sweetman , Thierry , Edwards , Workman , Evans , Tuson , Pearcy , and Lee .

PRINCE OF WALES LODGE , No . 1035 . ON Thursday , 11 th inst ., in the Skelmersdale Hall , Kirkdale , the installation took place , in the presence of a numerous and representative gathering of the Masonic fraternity . Bro . J . Edwards was installed Worshipful Master for the ensuing year by Bru . J . Newall P . P . S . G . W ., and he afterwards invested the Officers .

THE annual installation was held on Friday , 12 th inst ., at the Masonic Hall , Hope Street , Liverpool , when there was a numerous gathering , largely composed of visitors connected with the Prov . Grand Lodge . Bro . W . Irvine was installed W . M . and the Officers were invested .

A Past Master's jewel was presented to Bro . Browne , and at the close of the usual banquet a selection of music was given by Bros . Gray , Wilson , Shaw , Scott , Sweetman , Thierry , Edwards , Workman , Evans , Tuson , Pearcy , and Lee .

PRINCE OF WALES LODGE , No . 1035 . ON Thursday , 11 th inst ., in the Skelmersdale Hall , Kirkdale , the installation took place , in the presence of a numerous and representative gathering of the Masonic fraternity . Bro . J . Edwards was installed Worshipful Master for the ensuing year by Bru . J . Newall P . P . S . G . W ., and he afterwards invested the Officers .
